  1. Unfortunately, my rest day has turned into a few days. Been having some stomach issues that have kept me down. I hope they go away soon. Ugh, stupid stomach.
  2. Day 2 of YAYOG down. Everything hurts. Swimmers suck for Fitocracy points. But tomorrow is rest day.
  3. Luckily, I work in a library, so I'm able to research and request books when I'm not out fighting unruly computers. It's pretty awesome. This weekend was pretty bad. I think I used the glaring blind spot in my goals to pig out all weekend on crap, and my wife got a stomach virus, so I was sole baby-tenderer, and I missed out on a fair bit of sleep. So, a extra credit goal for me is to eat better on the weekends, at least 50% paleo/primal. As far as the YAYOG goes, this weekend was a bad idea, and even though I'm exhausted and feel like a hot tub of yechh, I'm going to do my YAYOG routines Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Trying to decide if I want to try Tai Chi/Yoga/Pilates on the rest days, we'll see how things go. In a non-exercise, non-nutritional, just going to complain aside, I slept wrong about a week or so ago and have had a pain in my neck that just doesn't seem to fully go away. Tried heat, tried Aleve, etc. Heat seemed to do the trick, until my neck/shoulder cooled off. It's not intensely painful, just enough to remind me not to turn my head that way, but it's annoying. Alright, I think I'm done complaining...
  4. I've borrowed You are Your Own Gym by Mark Lauren from my local library. I'm going to start the basic program this weekend. Does anyone have any experience with the program?
  5. Another two circuits of the beginner bodyweight workout. I do one, get all winded and sweaty, cool off for a bit, and keep thinking, "Can I do another one? I think I can do another one."
  6. Not only is everyone different, but every Whole30 is different. The first one I did, I was ravenous at first, but no other ill effects. Did another one about a year later, felt like I had the flu. All sorts of soreness and other issues. It's nuts. Good luck getting over your migraine!
  7. I think that will help. I'd love to work out in the morning, since (generally) my daughter is still asleep and it isn't ridiculously hot in my living room/bodyweight gym area, but it doesn't look like it will work out that well, so I'll have to be adaptable. Maybe I'll try instituting an afternoon naptime.
  8. Definitely feels like a win. And I think I did better working out right after work than I do in the mornings, so I'll shoot for exercising then. Only problem with that is there are more baby-tending issues in the afternoon, but I should be able to work around it. I have a physical scheduled for next week to make sure everything is in working order and ready for more high intensity stuff, and I'll start trying to ramp up from there.
  9. Finding someone who has the same goals as me...
  10. I came home and finished one circuit of the beginner body weight workout. It may not have happened when I planned, and I'm starting slow so I don't dread working out, but it feels like a win.
  11. It's difficult to overcome inertia. Every night I say I'm going to get up at 5 am for exercise. Every morning (except one) I hit snooze until 6 am. I've just never been a person that enjoys exercise. Generally, I quit before it starts to feel good (at least, I've been told that at some point it starts to feel good). So I'm exercising tonight. And I will go to sleep earlier tonight. And if I snooze again tomorrow morning, I'll exercise tomorrow night. Inertia is a bitch. I want to make inertia work for me, not against me. That said, I'm doing well on the meditation and paleo fronts. Thanks for checking up on me, redcat. I needed that.
