  1. Yeah it's where he got the idea for bulletproof coffee from.
  2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butter_tea Yeah it kind of does.
  3. Bleh. Okay... So yesterday kind of sucked. Didn't get the positive news I was hoping for with the new job. It's not BAD news, but MORE FUCKING waiting. I ended up drinking a couple glasses of whiskey and eating a muffin. BAD MONKEY. So today I'm pushing it a bit. Went for a walk with my fiancee and did bodyweight exercises. Eating super healthy - fish for dinner, had bacon and eggs for breakfast, and I've been drinking some butter tea throughout the day. Going to try to drop back into ketosis, I do better with food when I'm super focused on that. Going to try to get about 60% of my food from fat, 30% from protein, 10 from carbs (gotta eat veggies). Going to do that for all of May. My fiancee wants to start juicing again at some point so I figure June will be a good month to add that back in...
  4. *Vomits a little* No, no, it's cool. I'll be okay. *Vomits a little more* I know other people like that though. I think the only time I ever ate velveeta was at my grandmother's, because she's a terrible cook (my dad's mom). It was some velveeta/salsa dip she microwaved...
  5. To be fair... other than the soup mix that's not a terrible stew lol. The rest though... lol. Thank Cthulhu I grew up cooking with my mom...
  6. Woo, got 50 high knees in at the end of today's workout. Going to do another 50 tomorrow and maybe 100 on Saturday...
  7. Hola, hi, hello, gutentag. Things are going well over here, mostly. I have less news that I'd like to have currently... Went to the gym on Monday, should be going today. Need to get back on track with meditation, been focusing more on sleep lately...
  8. The emotional stuff is a failure on her part to understand why you aren't dwelling on your emotions the same way she does/you used to. It's a good thing. Embrace it. The $50 rent thing is bullshit. Be rid of her. Glad things are going well outside of that... Things should be shaping up here soon too. Talk soon buddy, we have plans to finalize.
  9. Few people realize that anchovies are the base of caesar dressing, and I love caesar salad... so that I would probably like.
  10. Nice. I use the "It Starts With Food" Salmon cake recipe, I'll have to try them with a vinaigrette, cold. Sounds delicious.
  11. Doing my weekly update now since I'll be busy this weekend. Also realized I didn't do an EoW update for week 1, so I'll do that first. Week 1: Mostly good. Missed 1 workout, 1 day of yoga and meditation. Eating was on track. Drank a little too much over the weekend but moving into things slowly. Week 2: Skipped working out, meditating or yoga on Monday. Got back into things on Tuesday, had a few drinks on Wednesday but also went to the gym. Went for a 6 mile+ hike yesterday and am skipping the gym today because my legs are falling off. Tomorrow is technically my cheat day but because I had a few drinks on Wednesday I'm going to avoid drinking over the weekend again. Going hiking on Sunday to make up for no gym today, but I still got a lot of working out in this week so it's all good. Looking for a few suggestions on food, starting to get bored. Made a meatloaf last night. Reconsidering low carb diet and adding a few things back in. Still no added sugars, but oatmeal and a few other things. We'll see. I have enough trouble hitting my protein goals already... don't want to replace it with non-sugar carbs. Need to eat more eggs, they're my superfood... Fiancee wants to do a juice cleanse soon, so we'll see. For my mini I've been focused mostly on Getting my Shit back together anyway, so it reinforced the "do shit, don't put it off" portion of my challenge, been doing good with that. Hopefully good news next week in relation to employment issues... stay tuned.
  12. Finally went to the gym. 20 minute walk there ~1 mile Warm-up Squat 5x5 - 95lb Bench 5x5 - 95lb Row 5x5 - 95lb Calf Raise 5x5 - 95lb Kettlebell Swings 10x5 - 30lb Farmer's Walk 200ftx3 - 60lb Planks Yoga Walking on variable incline - 7 min. 20 minute walk home ~1 mile. This is good, yes.
  13. Timelord moment? Finally stopped putting off going to the gym. Just got back.
  14. I've been playing a ton of Fallout New Vegas recently, doing all the add-on content, which is actually better than the main game I think. A little more cohesive... I might start playing WoW again now that they added the game tokens. My fiancee plays, so it's just a matter of getting her a new computer so we can play together... IF I do... I will harass people for their battletags...
  15. Yeah it was a good reminded I haven't been lifting in a while. Need. To. Fix. I'm about ready to drag this black dog of depression out back and Old Yeller it...
  16. Yeah I thought I pulled the muscle in my right forearm moving the hutch but woke up not even sore... it was glorious. Yay for knowing how to lift.
  17. Drank too much whisky this weekend... hahaha. Had a very busy weekend, actually. Friday was decompress day. Saturday I moved a fuck ton of furniture. Some of our really good friends are moving from MA to PA (sad) and decided to downsize, so they offered us pretty much all of the furniture in their house.... stuff we needed. So we inherited a new couch, two end tables, a coffee table, a new dining room table and chairs, an oak hutch, a large amish-made wood hutch (holy fuck was that heavy), a new dresser, filing cabinet and a few other things. So Saturday was spent loading all of that onto a truck, plus a bunch of their son's stuff (my best friend), then unloading all of it at his storage space and our apartment. The place looks great, but loading and unloading everything was a hell of a workout. The Amish-made hutch probably weighed close to 300 pounds. Still need to fine tune the layout in our place but having new furniture is really nice... Yesterday was spent hanging out with said friends one more time before they leave, so lots of good food, wine, whisky and talking. Last week went... okay. Battled with some depression but got a lot done. Only missed meditating on Friday. Haven't yet today but I'm going to get on that. My cheat day spilled across the weekend due to the nature of our plans and just having too much non-paleo food left over, but it's all gone now, so back on track!
  18. Alternatively, when life gives you lemons, make whisky sours...
  19. Okay, this is making my day a little better: http://www.metalinjection.net/av/amazing-synth-covers-of-slayer-opeth-death-carcass-more-will-get-stuck-in-your-head
  20. *Ever amused by the collection of personalities that made up their group, he took the evening to review his gear. Many changes had occurred recently and the tedious task was necessary to refocus and center his thoughts, preparing for the work ahead. He sharped his sword and ax, checked over his arrows and dismantled those that would not fly true for reuse. He checked over his rope for any frays and inspected his backup food and water supplies as well. Sitting near the fire in his room, he mended his cloak, socks and shirt, repairing a few holes where the material had been worn threadbare after their recent excursion. After a while, he finished the work and sat up through the night, staring into the flames, deep in thought...*
  21. I refuse to hit play on that because of the band, but I know what you mean.
