  1. Rude, though I know exactly what that's like. My stepmom is like that too. "You lost a few pounds, Jen? How much do you weight now? How much do you need to lose?" Ugh, you don't need to know, just be happy for the other person. Look at you, killing this challenge!! Congrats!!

Imagine my surprise when opening my email to preview the message, I am greeted with this. I am among friends xD And more squats!! My legs are still recovering from last week! Suck it up and lets get going (again)!

  4. Her lungs burned as Ren flew through the field, her fingers clenched tightly around a small metal object. Everything was a blur as she ran as fast as she could, leaping over dirt mounds and rubble, fearing any moment her foot would catch on the debris and it would all be over. She had never run so hard in her life, but something was behind her, gaining ground. It was just supposed to be a quick evening search around the city limits, she had no intention of actually setting foot into the fields alone, but something caught her eye. Something shiny reflecting off the setting sun from its place among the tall grasses. Carefully, Ren had made her way over, crouching low to the ground, stopping often to listen for any signs of the kidnapped victims. If she had stopped to think, she would have found it suspicious that the dying light would have reached through the crops and grass at all. Aiming for 15 miles this week. Anything more is a bonus One Zombies, Run session done, one to go for this week, plus I’ve started biking for about two miles or so around sunrise (when I can wake my lazy butt up). Something about watching the rising sun is calming. 8/15 miles Update: 19/15 miles. Complete

Green!! Darn, MichiruSedai called it! Hmm, okay, the blue one with the white top in the back left!
  7. Yes! Sometimes I have no idea what is proper for a certain situation. They do for sure. I'm not a math person, numbers freak me out and I can never wrap my head around them. I'm putting myself in the mindset of thinking more positively about my own outlook on it. I am surprised at how much I am... enjoying it? Well, baby steps lol!
  8. Ren tore her eyes away from the woman beside her when the mysterious stranger stood and addressed the crowed that had gathered. She had no idea what was happening, having only come in to have a good time, but she couldn't help wondering what was going on. As she looked around, she saw a fellow adventurer Sylvaa waiting eagerly as well, and smiled. Through all the excitement in the Ranger Guildhall, something was lurking just below the surface, something bigger then her, and Ren wanted to know more. I'm in!
  9. Awesome goals and welcome to the Adventurers! I have to tell you, my inner voice can be crazy persuasive like that too. Oh, you've already had a piece of toast, you're whole day of clean eating is ruined. Just have some more junk food, we'll start again tomorrow. Following you on your journey!
  10. Following! Man, that last quote got me too... making me re-think just how much time I'm spending with people I care about.
  11. Don’t Starve, WritingWeaver! Just started playing Don’t Starve on PS4 and since I have been into this game for years so I’ve decided to base my challenge among the universe. Love the characters, love the game play, I love everything (just need to find other people to play with!). Planning to chronicle my adventure, probably one or two posts of story driven narration a week. We Ride Tö Battle! Wigfrid may be a performance artist, but she’s got the spirit of a Valkyrie! Her strength and natural defence make this warrior a force to be reckoned with. Channeling her while working out will allow me to become stronger, allowing me to survive for much longer! While she may only need to eat meat, I will be focusing once again on keeping to a clean, paleo way of eating. - Training will include: · MWF – Rebel Strength Guide lvl 2 · T, TH –Zombie Run - Grading: · Workouts : 5 –A, 4 -B, 3 -C, 3< - 0 · Paleo (days): 7 –A, 6 –B, 5 –C, 4< - 0 Conquering With The Power Of My Mind! Wilson, The Gentleman Scientist. Intelligent, perhaps a little too curious on occasion. Always looking to learn something new or tinker with an invention, he relies on knowledge. For me, school’s in. Have to study. Even though I’m only taking one class, it’s Finance. I’d much rather gnaw off my arm and sew it back on than be in this class, but the professor is amazing (had him in a previous class) and it’s a required course. - Study Everyday! · At least 1 hour of studying every day (Not Sunday). No distractions! - Grading: 6+ –A, 5 or 4 -B, 3 -C, 3< - 0 …There’s a Reason I Stay So Dapper! Who the heck is this mysterious, well dressed character that shows up in the beginning to tell you to find something to eat? He’s got some style! As I was going through my closet recently, I realized I have a lot of clothes, but nothing to wear! Most of it is either just a little too small, pretty casual, with no proper (office) work clothing. If I get called into an interview right now, I’d have nothing to wear. My one go-to outfit is my lovely cardigan and jeans, but I can’t wear that every day. I need to store the clothes that don’t currently fit and start building up a proper wardrobe that I can actually wear and be happy with. Won’t be easy, but has to be done. Goal is to have at least three new formal-ish outfits by the end of this challenge. Also, more driving will be done. I only got to go practicing 4 times last challenge due to limitations, but I think I may give that driving instructor a call soon. Still undecided. - Go through the closet! o Pack away everything that doesn’t fit o Buy one formal work outfit a week (min. 3 this challenge)
  12. Quick update: Workouts are on track, tried 30lb weights yesterday and could do a small part of the workout! Woot!! Eating is nearly clean now, got rid of all the junk in my room and bought healthy snacks (nuts, coconut and fruit). Also, so excited as I just applied for a job at a credit union right near my house (a position opened up), so crossing my fingers that I get an interview! I applied as a general position last time (half a year ago), and though they called and said there were no positions open where I was looking, I was floored that HR called me at all, and within two days! That is a company I want to work for!
  13. So... two weeks of updated coming up! Week of August 29 Workouts - Workouts went well once again, did everything and pushed myself, especially in both running days! Pistol squats still super difficult, but still working on doing them with an assist. I can feel some areas are ready for the heavier weight, and one clearly still not ready even for the current weight Push press... I do it anyway, just takes longer. I did have to move Monday's workout to Saturday as I had zero energy. I mean it, I could barely do one set of anything. *More below. Clean Eating - Ate clean this week, made my own food and managed to avoid all the junk food. Take that, cheesecake! Mostly ate chicken stir-fry for dinner and eggs for first meal Writing - Still on track, wrote six pages this week, and still focused on the one project! Woot! Driving - This is a fail. I didn't get behind the wheel at all this week! Between nervousness and not wanting to go out with the parents (they all have their own flaws I don't want to pick up), I couldn't push myself to do it. Week of September 4 Workouts - I only got in both run days this (last) week. *I had so much trouble sleeping this last week, it was horrible. I would toss and turn until about 5 or 6am then finally get to sleep, and one day (of three) I didn't even get to sleep before work. No idea what was wrong, but Saturday seems to be going better. Went to bed early, woke up rested and energized. Anyway, with the lack of sleep, I had no energy to complete any of my weight training, though I did give each one a fair shot. Clean Eating - This one... nope. Didn't eat clean most of the week and I didn't even make my own food most of the time. My brother, bless him, was nice enough to make some food for me, sometimes, when he was having meals. Muffins didn't help either. Slipped a lot this week, but I made chili and soup in batches with a plan. As soon as I get home from work (10:30am), I throw one of them into a pot, set on low and workout while it thaws and warms up. Yay, time management skills are leveling up! Writing - Still on track! Woot!! Nine pages this week and still focused on one project! Up to 23 pages in total! Driving - I did it you guys. It may only have been once, and it may have only been for ten minutes, but I forced myself to drive! My bro drove me to renew my license and when we got back into our development, I asked him if I could drive. He helped direct me and gave me some pointers as we drove around (still just in the quiet development). There was only one point that was very stressful for me when I was going to turn onto our street, there was another driver turning too. I did freeze and let them by, I didn't want to hit them or anything. Just turning though. I managed to pass another car on the same street without any panic. Don't tell anyone, but I did enjoy driving
  14. Pretty great, I've written about 22 pages so far during this challenge German is going well too, finally working at it everyday. Are you going to have Duolingo in your next challenge? How's the new job?
  15. Name: Renier (Ren) Race: Pixie Magic: Nature Skills: Familiar, Crippling Shot, Entangling Roots Time wasted on: Laptop, usually gaming or watching Youtube Time needed for: Writing, practicing ukulele Reasons: No thinking required when watching videos as I usually use them for background noise, but then end up zoning out and not doing anything productive.
  16. Nice goals! Are you going cold turkey with the caffeine? Looking forward to following your progress
  17. Meditation can get difficult for me as well, but I found some incense or a soak in the bath really helps relax the body to focus on the mind. Still, going to aim for ten minutes a day (twice for one day to finish on Sunday).
  18. Last weeks results (a bit late) Workouts - All around average this week, other than Thursdays little dip in drive. No workouts missed, though assisted pistol squats were very difficult. Going slowly though and I know I will be able to get stronger. Clean Eating - This one... wasn't the greatest this week. I only ate my planned meals five out of seven days plus I ate a lot of junk food (cheesecake, one of my bigger weaknesses). However, I did manage to get in quite a few veggies and avoided all bread! Not the greatest, but could have been worse. Can do better this week! Writing - Finally out of summary mode and onto the story! Eight pages finished last week (5 world/character building, 3 story), so this goal is on track! Driving - Finished reading the drivers ed manual, terrified of getting behind the wheel. Also, my brother recommended a driving instructor that, coincidentally, one of my friends went to and he was just as nervous as me. You never would have known though as he loves driving now! I think that after this 4 challenge is over, I am going to sign up for this instructors course.
  19. I hope that outdoor running will also become more natural to me. I started on the treadmill mostly due to being waaaay too self conscious to run outside. In public. Where someone might see me. I may start going outside to run in late fall, little by little, and I do want to try running in winter this year, though I can already see that will lead to my face having multiple meetings with the ground xD Also, I didn't realize Pandora was country restrictive, unfortunately it is not available in Canada. Yes, I have been for... four years now? About that. It's slightly difficult, especially with my current school schedule as exams tend to fall the last week in November, or first few days of December. Last year wasn't too bad as I took courses I knew I would do well in, but this fall I am taking a financial management course and I suck at math. Never understood it, so I want to focus all my attention on this course to keep my gpa up. Even though I wanted to only take one class, I may actually end up taking two, though I am very undecided. I do love Nanowrimo, and even though I don't do much of the community events, there is still a huge sense of community both here among those that participate and those that I see on the Nano site. Plus, with the weather turning colder, it's always nice to curl up with a hot drink and the laptop to work on a project
  20. Oh man, what a crazy start to the term! You think they would have notified you much earlier of this instead of having you find out the way you did. Hopefully you get a time that works out for you so you don't have to modify everything else in your life. *fingers crossed* I wish you a quick recovery! I am always inspired by you to better myself and I am honored to be in your corner fighting with you! Welcome back, Teros! Lead on to victory!
  21. You killed your workout goals!! I hear you on needing a few days after a book to find something else to read. I actually stop and linger just before the end of a book, mostly because I don't want it to end. I'm reading a long series of books right now, so it's a bit easier until I decide to take a break and read something else. What book did you finish reading? The one class to rule them all! Best of luck to you in all your classes!
  22. Goals have been fixed to be more trackable and measurable Also, is anyone else having trouble with getting notifications? I haven't gotten any this week for the challenges I'm following (though I'm getting ones for this mini thread).
