  1. Ha fine thanks for asking ... I had some bad family news hence the lack of posts. Still it has definitely spurred me on to look after myself, life is short etc etc. Yeah so the swim was terrible... Swim starts are not to be underestimated and lake swimming with friends can only take you so far. Still I would love to do more triathlons. My bike was bang on my prediction, run was a little slower. It just gives me a target to improve on
  2. I agree with UltanBoyd Gillian was on to something with the eat real food and know your body. She then blew it on desperate attempts to cash in. All her 'foods' contained piles of sugar and many had to be withdrawn as they made health claims they couldn't back up. Such a shame
  3. I had to look up what a janner was .... and came across this Whitehouse wonder
  4. Day two Not so good. Not paleo with the food. Had pasta and a brownie as well as struggling to focus on my write up. Day three Was so into work I forgot my work out. :-\ Had a really nice dinner of steamed fish with coleslaw but another non paleo day as the unbelievably tasty caramel waffle I had will tell you. Going swimming tomorrow so hopefully get back on track.
  5. wooo welcome Reneegade and good luck... There are some jerks on the internet but so far I have found NF to be pleasantly jerk free
  6. MUAY THAI its hands down awesome. Its not about brute strength, although strength helps. It is all about efficiency and economy of movement, ironic I know for a MA form called the art of the 8 limbs. BJJ is pretty good as well.
  7. Neon is always a good choice Makes me want to rave the fat off ha tan
  8. that would seriously spook me, well down for staying calm. I am swimming in the UK and it seems all our lakes and rivers are like this, at least all the ones I swam in. I would love to go and swim in the ocean in Hawaii it looks crystal clear and so blue-y beautiful.
  9. Hey Camisotro Just wanted to say good luck. No one is born with a dumbell in hand. Everyone has had to learn and start just like you. You have done the hardest part and started. What happens next isn't easy but the rewards will be present in how you feel your body getting stronger, and hopefully grow in confidence. All the best
  10. I totally agree. But I would add use the judgement to challenge yourself. I remember the looks I got the first time I used the free weights, and again recently when I asked the trainer to check my posture with the bar. Use their dirty looks and snide comments as fuel. These reactions usually come from fear or jealousy. Make them jealous
  11. So Sunday I 'swam' in open water for the first time. I am taking that as the first time since I submerged my whole body and swam about 10 metres. I did then get out as I had the pike nightmare and couldn't continue. Today marks the day I got in and swam, on my own 400m non stop in open water. I swam breast stroke, the next step is to add 100m and go front crawl. I am no Micheal Phelps or Rebecca Addlington but ... baby steps
  12. wahey! Keep it up. Yoga breathing is great. It helped me get through my fear of heights. Looking forward to more updates
