  1. Has anyone ever tried to giftwrap a kettlebell? Tricky stuff. PS that beard is definitely real.
  2. Giftwrapped kettlebell and an UGLY sweater coming your way soon
  3. I've always been a pretty strong swimmer but i just don't swim very often. A triathlon is a challenge that I've wanted to take on but I was actually always worried about the bike portion to be honest, until recently I wasn't one to bike at all. Lately though I have been enjoying the bike more and more, and certainly it has been my preferred form of locomotion, but I plan on continuing to run as well and I think a triathlon (even a made up solo course) could be a good motivator to mix up my workout routine and hop off the bike a few times each week.
  4. Im thinking about doing a backyard triathlon in the next few weeks. I have a 10m long pool so roughly a million laps. Or realistically 50/100/150, I actually have no idea what I can swim but 1.5k is standard triathlon distance, yes? Bike from my house a nice 20-25 mi loop back to my house. Run 10k from my house in an out and back. Doable? Or am I setting unrealistic goals?
  5. Summary for the week: 8/4 9mi bike 8/5 16mi bike (6mi +10mi) 8/7 16mi bike 8/11 30 min jog
  6. Solid goals, best of luck! How many pull ups are you doing currently?
  7. Great goals and loving this storyline! I'm a sucker for a good zombie tale, very interested to see how it plays out for you. Best of luck!
  8. 16 mile bike ride today! Farthest I've ever biked in one sitting and it felt great! Probably could have gone a bit further still but I didn't want to tempt fate today. I think I've decided that the bike is where I'm going to stay for this challenge though
  9. Also, I have an arsenal of tLoZ related mash-ups, remixes, etc if you want an... interesting... workout mix http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8IMHiFQr3A http://shag.bandcamp.com/album/flyrule And nothing beats the straight up Hyrule Field theme for an alarm clock or a running jam!
  10. Light arrows by week four is a little ambitious lol LOVE your set-up, looks like a great way to stay on task and to be honest I'm really jealous that I didn't think of it and might adopt a similar strategy (or maybe spend all day speedrunning through Ocarina... that's a workout, right?)
  11. Keep moving forward (I don't know if your profile picture is actually a reference to Meet The Robinsons or not but its relevant anyway!) (also good luck with your goals!)
  12. Hmmm looks like I should be tracking this after all
  13. Last week I helped a woman get started planting a garden on a trail that I frequently ride/run on. We had a good discussion about keeping the trail beautiful and safe, so I've decided to start picking up trash on it every time I'm out. Not really heavy lifting, but it is my small contribution to moving stuff and helping out mini challenge. While everyone is bringing the heavy new stuff in, someone has to be moving the junk out, right?
  14. Its a blessing and a curse, I check out way more books than I could ever read (another perk... no late fees!) but I will definitely put them on my list, they both sound great and I've been craving a new fantasy novel
  15. Great goals, best of luck! What sort of business are you looking into?
  16. Haha, I am guilty of wanting to say Nerdfighteria as well, it just has a nicer ring to it. Anyway, welcome aboard and great, manageable goals. You may want to ease into your waking up early goal (something like: week one wake up at 8, week 2 wake up at 7:30, week 3 at 7:00, until you get to where you want to be), I know that trying to just change my sleeping habits on a dime was not successful, I was just sleepy and grumpy lol. Best of luck, and don't forget to be awesome
  17. Strong goals, best of luck! How do you plan on phasing out junk food, cut back a little at a time over the six weeks? Also, LOVE your profile picture (even though I too could afford to cut down on the partying lol)
  18. Great goals and best of luck! Make sure you break them down into little steps along the way (big ol' goals can be a bit daunting, vs little victories along the way, yay!)
  19. I'm gonna post sporadically (consistent posts has never been my specialty) but here's how today went: fruit: avocado with breakfast veggie: green peppers on a buffalo chicken wrap bike: two outings, 16miles total (wahoo!)
  20. I've always found an upcoming race the best motivator for me to train, I will gladly take part in some of these
  21. As a fellow designer, I'm looking forward to seeing your website!
  22. Also, I didn't take a camera with me on my adventure so I thought I would share this great image: From the great blog 365q
