  1. I still read it too. I'm up in long beach. Would you guys want to meet up to bungee jump at the bridge to nowhere? http://www.bungeeamerica.com/prices.html
  2. I still haven't had a cigarette and I am getting ready to buy the liquid for my e-cig with less nicotine in it. I haven't worked out yet though either. I've only eaten out twice which is okay, but not ideal. I ate a free muffin from my work and went to lunch with a friend yesterday. I've decided to go to school to become a vet tech. because I still want to like kids, and I love animals. Today is pay day for all of my jobs so I'm going to making my credit card/ bill payments Monday when all the checks go though. Its been a long good week though and I am excited for the weekend anyways I work the majority of it, 8-330 sat and 4-9 sat, and then Sunday 930-6 May I rebel against my own bad habits and level up even more as the week progresses.
  3. So, I've been chewing Big Red gum throughout today but I haven't had a cigarette so far today and its helping a lot. I made my lunch and forgot it at home, and am thinking about becoming a vet tech or a high school teacher. Oh decisions that encompass my entire life's direction are scary, but I must make one soon. I am leaning towards high school science/ math teacher. I also drank an energy drink (i know they aren't good for you) in a matter of minutes which I think is helping with the cigarette cravings as well and the hunger from forgetting my lunch at home :/ so sorry if this post is super scatterbrained, the caffeine is hitting me right now.
  4. How have you been? are you participating in this 6week challenge?

  5. Let me know how everything goes, your goals sound amazing and I am excited to see how you take on each challenge.
  6. and If I complete my goals, I will give myself a reward for each goal. 1. A parking pass to the state beaches 2. A running accessory (only one) 3. A bitchen lunch pale haha 1. I can only get these things if all credit is paid off (and a 200 shopping spree for w/e, but most likely jeans and some shirt) 2. The winning of the challenge. muhahahahaha and a nerdfitess clothing item These thing will be acquired within the month of Aug.
  7. I have trouble keeping up with challenges and I am really motivated to keep this one up. My three fitness/ diet goals are: 1. Surf once a week 2. Go run 3x a week 3. Don't eat out (Except date nights-very rare, but if the opportunity comes up I don't want to deny it) My Life level up goals are: 1. Pay off debt 1197.17 by the end of Jan. 2. Completely stop smoking. and to elaborate.. 1. I just went surfing for the first time in years last week and had a blast, I want to keep this up and work on my skills. 2. Running will work well with not smoking, I have to keep myself occupied. Also I want to run a 1/2 marathon sometime this year and haven't ran in months, so I have to start somewhere. 3. Not eating out will include all the food I can eat at work (restaurant and coffee shop) I have to plan my meals, coffee doesn't count as eating out. 1. With as much as I work I should be able to finish paying off my credit card debt by the end of July, but to see it actually happen will be amazing, I was at about 3000 in credit card debt and to see it disappear 100% would be one of the biggest fresh starts. 2. Stopping smoking. My friend and I started a bet kinda... pretty much whoever caves first when it comes to smoking a cigarette owes the other person 50 dollars. We might get a large pool going in a week or so but we shall see. I was smoking a pack a day last week so this is going to the the biggest challenge yet. Why is it different this time though you may say... I just got out of a relationship that was bring me down in life and now that that has ended, I am living back at my dads house for the first time in almost 4 years. (good support) The guy I'm dating wants to do these things with me. (more great support) I just had a birthday (turned 22) and I would love nothing more than a fresh start which is what I am hoping to do, I want to with this challege have it be the jump start i need to get my life going in the direction I have wanted it to head in for so many years. I will be keeping a written diary, incase i dont make it to the computer and updating this thread as often as I can (I work 60 hours a week) I look for to this challenge, Bring it on!
  8. I am so glad I found this, my friend and I just made a pact that we will not smoke for the next week. So far, so good. I do however want to quit for life and get back into the shape that I used to be in.
  9. WELCOME! I noticed you posted almost two months ago.. sooo hows it going? Did you figure out your short term goals?
  10. HEY! I'm in Long Beach too! Let's try and get a group together and go!
  11. Where is Los Angeles? I'm located in long beach and am looking for a running buddy.
  12. I love how different everyone is though out this thread. It makes me smile
  13. Sticking to the Challenge Fitness Goals: -Interval run every other day: I am not going every other, but I'm starting too this week. I will for the rest of the challenge and beyond as well -Keep up my workouts when I go camping on Nov 11-Nov 13 N/A Life Goals: -Sign up for a 5K.COMPLETE-> Signed up for the "Say No to Drugs" Run for December 4th -98% Paleo dietI would grade myself as a C- because I could do better. This is a control issue that needs to be addressed by myself if I want the health levels that I am after. -Wake up before 7 five days a week.Absolute F- I woke up once at 6:11 and fell back asleep for another 3 hours after my morning shower, on the other hand it is getting easier to get up between 7:15 and 7:30. I am hoping by the end of the challenge I will be getting up before 7 no problem Finances: -Pay $200 off my credit card with out re-spending the money. I am working on it, my boyfriend is giving me $500 to pay off so that the score goes up faster. I will be adding that on to the tab that I owe him. I haven't been spending as much on is it as I was. -Pay back my boyfriend $235 Haven't started yet. -Stick to my budget. B+, I have broke down a few times but over all I am not spending a bunch. 14. Thank you! I actually decided to stay at my current job and cut my hours by 10 a week, that way I would still have the flexibility of vacationing and I might enjoy my work more now that I have a shorter time to get things done. Ran today-check it out here if youre interested.
  15. I am going to morph the Angry Birds work out with the Body Weight Routine. I'll think of a creative name at a later time. I just read Spezzy's story and it got me pumped to stop eating the little crap that I do and really stick to my new way of eating. I did cave for some of that delicious chocolate, but I finished off my favorite ones so that problem should cease to exist. I am really going to focus on my strength training though my Angry-bodyweight-Birds Routine. Ill purchase the Rebel Strength Guide when I have the funds. I want to level up in my life, I didn't mention it in my original challenge but though I am really lucky to have a great job, I honestly hate it. I work for my boyfriends dad, the benefits are fantastic when it comes to taking time off to travel and I get to sit next to my boyfriend. But I'm not happy there, so I'm going to apply to Trader Joe's for a basic position. Also, if that works out, I'll be able to pick my sister up from high school which will hopefully work out. My parents split up last year and my sister could really use some support, she a freshman in high school. My mom isn't around much so I think that me being there will help her and my dad out a lot. This is challenge is about more than just getting in shape its about starting to make the changes in my life that are long overdue. I just remember things as the challenge gets rolling so there will be more changes then originally written.
  16. Its funny, out of all the lists I make, I am horrible at keeping track of my finances. My plan is just spend as little as possible. I think I'll start my spreadsheet for finances in November when all my October bills are paid. I have budgets though mint.com and I monitor my credit though creditkarma.com. Both are great resources, I have only paid my bills so far and registered for a 5K with my money. The greatest challenge is when the extra money starts adding up.
  17. You've got this one.. you know I failed at my last 6 week challenge because I just stopped, lets keep it up together. You're doing great with your food intake and that's awesome, it really is 80% of the battle. Way to get up early to get your work out in, I've been trying to get up early for that but I wind up hitting the snooze. I've read many places that working out in the morning is the best time because nothing from your day can get in your way so that you don't have time.
  18. I did it. I got off my butt and Ran, pretty successfully if I do say so myself. Lets hope I don't feel it to bad in the morning. Also I did much better eating Paleo today, once this delectable box of Lindt Swiss Chocolate is gone I think I'll do much better. Here are my photos too, these were taken when I got home from work today and before my run. So thats me after sitting all day at a desk Now I'm off to do some homework for my English class: To find the origin of the unicorn.
  19. http://www.modernhiker.com/la-hiking/. Check these out and let me know if any of them appeal to you, I'm okay with all of them and I know bridge to nowhere has a group you can go bungee jumping with for 70-90 dollars. Also, if you wanted to meet up at my place in Long Beach then I could drive to Crystal Cove or Oceanside and we could meet up with theanne.
  20. Oceanside is fine, it about an hour from me and I can get together any weekend except Nov. 11,12,13 I am going camping in the Redwoods
