  4. With this being the last week, I thought I would give a quick update ... on my goal ... As of today I am 1lb shy of hitting my 20 lbs goal. During my training a few weeks back I injured my right lower back about where my kidney is ... i strained or pulled something ... Which I re-aggravated it this past weekend ... Going to have it check out but i plan on losing this last Lbs and completing this six week challenge!
  5. Ok I know I am two weeks late with this but I figured I can give you my goals and update all in one to start off with ... but here goes, I am using this Six week challenge to help me get ready for a goal later on at the end of the year (To do the Honolulu Marathon on Dec 8th which maybe when the next challenge ends after this one). So my main goal for this is to drop 20 lbs by the end of six week (well now 4) I have already lost 6 lbs from the first 2 weeks, so that i will be lighter and lesser weight to carry. by 1) Training at less 4 to 5 times a week, walking, lifting, and going to judo practices 2) Eating more of a Paleo deit, and 3) cutting out the junk food (candy, ice cream, soda, chips, etc) My life side quest is to start updating my resume to find a better job so that I don't have to live on a month to month pay check ... it something i keep talking about but haven't done anything about. My motivation for also this ... I want to better myself and prove to myself that I have the Will to do it and that I Can do it .... That all i got for now ... I will try to post more updates ... JAX

  8. Hello everyone, My friends call me Jax short for the "JAX of HEARTS" I was born and raised in the Aloha State of Hawaii. I am 31 years old and I have struggled with being over weight for nearly all of my life. I found Nerd Fitness website while I was research on the Paleo Diet, after that I just kept coming back and reading all the different articles. I enjoy it so much I deiced to sign up for E-mails and the NerdFitness Rebllion. For a long time in life (not just working out and getting healthy) I lived by the moto "Taking it to the NX Level" with NX sounding like Next. So of course when I read that what is Nerd Fitness is about leveling up your self it just seem to like this is the right place I have been looking for. My Story is I am over weight and have always tried to lose weight. My most successful moment was between 2004 to 2006 where I set rules for my self to follow such as; "don't eat after 6pm or 4 hours before sleep", "eat 6 small meals vs. 3 large meals", "drink water, no more soda", and "reward my self for ever 15lbs dropped I get 2 scoops of ice cream", to list a few examples. It worked for a while, I lost 80 lbs most of my workout was walking 3 to 5 miles a couple times a week and doing judo 6 days a week some times 2 practies a day. Then My finally year in college I had an internship (120 hrs) I had to do for my senior practicum along with 3 other classes to graduate. Working (intership) in the morning and Classes at night left me no time to attend judo practies. I didn't know any better or any other time type of workout and was tired from all the running around. Ever since then I always had a hard time getting back on the horse and I gain all 80 lbs back and another 80 lbs on top of that in the last 7 years. My will power just has been that strong along with shoulder surgery and other type of injures. After being told about the Paleo diet from friends and signing up to do my first Honolulu Marathon (in Dec), along with remembering my goal of competeing at National Judo Tournament. And finding NerdFitness I feel rejuvenated and ready to do what it take with dieting (80%) and workingout (20%) by taking baby steps to a life style change hopefully with the Support of the Nerd Fitness Rebels Mahalo (Thank You)
