  1. Heya good on ya Vian. I'm now on day 4, but haven't been strict Paleo. I was using low fat cottage cheese couple of times in my meals, but found I don't desire dairy. I've not drunk any milk, tea and coffee which means no more raw sugar. I did have one piece of wholemeal bread on day 2 to counter digestive problem I had. I've not had any digestive problems with day 3 and today. I've not had any headaches except for day 1, but that's because I'm still waiting for my new prescription glasses to arrive. I have stigmatism and reading computers or books I can get headaches easily which lead to migraines if I don't have the right glasses and have breaks now and then. So I have passed on the cottage cheese. I'm going to get my money back on the skim milk powder bag I bought yesterday since it's still dairy. I've had a lot of vegies and protein that I can afford with my low budget atm. Currently canned tuna (researched good brands) and a whole freerange chicken that I"m cooking tonight and will have leftovers. Have 3 eggs out of the 6 i bought yesterday that were freerange eggs. Haven't eaten eggs for awhile and glad to be back eating them. I drink plenty of water. Will see how I go with not eating grains. I've not had any cravings for some wierd reason. I've pretty much gone cold turkey, but worried if that's a bad thing. I used to eat lentils, chickpeas a lot when I was a child and still have them very occasionally. Just not sure whether I'll have them with this new paleo diet. Maybe I could have them only as for times I want weight muscle gain once I've lost my weight as my primary goal or I could just stick with the sweet potato or Haiti sp? rice instead. I love my avacado. Have to look into what butter I should use for cooking purposes. I love my olives. Did my basic strength training last night and tonight I'm going to do my interval training. I can't wait until I can get rid of the 25kg off me and wear all my good clothes again
  2. Yeah I'll get rid of the old me and focus just from today and who I am now. Thank for the welcome!
  3. I've started trying this Paleo diet last night as I'm a newcomer here as of today. I think I've given shock to my system also as I've started having diarhoea from lack of carbs so far from dinner last night and breakfast. I might have a couple of wholemeal toast just to get this slight problem back in check. I'm usually a milk lover and I'm having no cravings of milk so far. Been drinking water instead of tea/coffee and also no raw sugar that I used to have in them. Just a question I'm curious to why legumes (chick peas and lentils I enjoy and have been used to it when I was a younger child from my Mum) she still eats like this and is very healthy is not a good thing for paleo. I always though Legumes were a good protein source. I'm thinking about changing my meat habits to just fish instead of the other meats unless i can afford grass fed beef/organic chicken etc. I am on a low budget atm for diet until I can get a new job so have been eating Canned Tuna with Olive oil to go with my vegies. Also have started eating eggs again as of this morning. Wow I have forgotten how much I missed eggs
  4. Hi my name is Jason, 37 yrs old and I had Nerdfitness bookmarked for couple of weeks from a link a Togger friend provided on my gaming guild that I've been involved with since 2004. After being depressed and feeling frustrated at how MMO gaming in particular has been affecting my well being I decided to stop playing MMO games and removed them off my computer. I have a fitness and outdoors background for atleast 20 years of my life before I even starting getting involved with computers or console gaming. Started gaming about 1997 with PC Lan meets etc and playing playstation, snes and megadrive for couple of years. Have an xbox and xbox 360 at home, but haven't played them for many years. I play games on the pc instead. I have a girlfriend that I love dearly and want her to see the old me back in 2009 when we first met when I was 70kg and looking like a fitness trainer. I'm 5ft 6 male. Atm I'm probably 95-100kg. My left knee is having slight discomfort because of carrying the extra load. I used to play lots of sports every day in high school. I used to play club football, athletics, volleyball and stopped in my mid 20's. I don't know what guild I should join, but here are my desires with physical training and health: Cross country type running (10km max) Used to be in the top 3 for school runs, but would never win them. Sprinting: This was my specialty in high school (100-200m) Relays 4x100m state championships. Hiking/bike riding and canoe: Love to see the outdoors and it's peaceful also. Stress relief: I want to find a healthy activity to help me with battling stress. I've been told Yoga, but I've never taken the chance with it. Weights: Used to be involved with gym 5-6 years ago, but I really would rather keep it light-medium range not heavy as I want to keep my stamina plus have high strength also and try to get my flexibility back and not feel like the hulk walking around (forgot to mention I'm actually keen on trying the Calisthenics down at the nearby park instead of gym) Budget: Still trying to get new job atm. Am currently doing 1 day a week traineeship course and can't afford to join a gym and also on a tight budget for new diet. Hoping to hear good positive feedback from others here and want to turn my life around for good. I've got this so far from researching as a handy park training video:
