  3. I'm okay with everyone calculating the walking they do around in normal every day life, as long as you aren't also calculating a drive to work. AS LONG AS THIS IS ACCURATE AND NOT GUESSTIMATING. Not yelling, just emphasizing. If you want to estimate distance based on steps that is also cool.
  4. Week 1 mini-challenge ends SUNDAY 12PM EST... so get to it. IT IS A GAME OF JOUST! Not that game of Joust! The Seven Kingdoms have gathered and the Houses of Stark, Targaryen, Baratheon, and Lannister are going to duel each other in the time honored tradition of spearing each other on horses! Who will win? Will it be the well-paid jousters of House Lannister? Will a Stark keep his head long enough to win this game? Does House Baratheon have some dark magic under their sleeve? Will a dragon burn everything to the ground for a House Targaryen victory?!?! Anything can happen! HOW TO PLAY: In order to joust we need our horses to gallop and we need to have powerful pokey sticks. To simulate this idea we are going to be doing some running/walking for distance (horse power) and lunges like we are "lunging" to poke each other. GET IT?! Brilliant. Right off the bat, we will only be measuring walking or running distance. No planes, trains, automobiles, bikes, rowing, skiing, hopping, flying dragons, etc. just walking or running distance. Distance will be measured in miles because I am an ugly American and I only understand backwards metrics. Lunges, one lunge is one leg rep. You don't need to do both legs to count as a rep. If you want to get extra into the game then I would suggest adding a punch to the end of your lunge for extra pokey! This is a lunge! Totals will be tallied at the end of the week and points will be distributed to Houses based on which place they came in. It will look something like this: TOTAL DISTANCE: 1st place: 100 pts 2nd place: 75 pts 3rd place: 50 pts 4th place: 25 pts TOTAL LUNGES: 1st place: 100 pts 2nd place: 75 pts 3rd place: 50 pts 4th place: 25 pts >>HERE IS WHERE YOU ENTER THE JOUST<< Don't remember your house?   5. Are you cool with House Baratheon? I put you there for now, because of my cosmic powers. They have fire and dark magic and I've heard rumors of cookies. This would make the houses more even.   7. I thought about Martell because they are my favorite, but I felt like these were the most prominent houses.... idk. Don't worry about how much you will be willing to contribute. I'm sure there will be a little bit of that everywhere and if there is less participation in one of the houses I can plug new people in there or give the house a boost. No worries.
  8. Oh hey. I have continued my streak of walking. Took Sunday off to be lazy, might take that day off every week... or not. Push-ups stopped, so I need to get back to that. Report back soon. Tally ho!
  9. Art is a strange thing. I totally understand that feeling of inadequacy, but you will always be your worst critic. Some people will love your work, others won't, it is all subjective. That is not a reflection on you. Just put the most you in your work and work hard. Then things will work out. Waiting for perfection or some sense of "being ready" is a never ending cycle of unproductitude. Keep moving forward and working and deal with things as they come. Go at your dreams with reckless abandon!
  10. If you are doing a modified form of push-ups just put a note in so that I can see they are modified. I derped and totally forgot about adding modifiers. I started out the same way with push-ups and apparently I have forgotten my roots!

  12. Trying something new. So bear with me while I fumble through figuring this all out. Hither, dither and what nots. Come ye all to a game of pwns. We're going to have a little inner Assassin battle royale to see who reigns supreme in week to week mini challenges. We are going to form houses (teams) and compete in these 6 weeks of mini-challenges. In order to form houses I'm going to ask everyone that wants to compete to sign up under the house of your preference (see tabs) and answer these questions 3: 1) How long can you hold a plank? 2) How many push-ups can you do in one minute? **please note if you are doing modified push-ups** 3) WHAT'S your favorite color?! Try to sign-up by Wednesday. Then I can go through and make sure the teams or fairly even so we can have a nice friendly competition. If everyone can try to help me out by placing themselves as evenly as possible that would be super awesome. Again, I have not tried anything like this before so bear with me. I felt like minis needed some spicing up so here we are. SIGN UP HERE sign-up is over, but you can still participate!!! Get in contact with me (Batwoman) through PM or posting to this thread. I'll get you signed-up as soon as I can. In the meantime just keep tally of anything mini-challenge related so you can add it when I assign you a house.   13. Thanks Steady progress is quite boring, but effective. I'm cool if these small yet uneventful updates keep me on track! Another Walk. 6 push-ups today.
  14. Another day. Another walk. Chain is up to 3. I know this is boring stuff, but it is important for me to come in every day and update. Keeps me honest. Small steps lead to big changes. Oh, I'm also starting a daily push-up chain. Starting at 5 push-ups and adding one push-up every day. SWEET!
  15. I understand that feeling. We all want to do all of the things, but some things are more important than others. These are the choices we make. They are not bad or good, just choices. Go get 'em Jitters!
  16. Yeah. We might have to start a new thread. I started a new chain for habit creation! I'm trying to walk Zelda at least 10 minutes a day and I'm focusing on that to get me back in the swing of fitness. So we are two days strong with getting outside for a brief walk. Oh and I did some push-ups today and I have become so weak! So maybe I will incorporate that daily as well, but that is not my focus of yet. ... now we mosey.
  17. Life is crazy. Life is beautiful. Life has led me to a lot of sugar and pastry in the past few months. Between January 1st and April 15th is some of the most stressful times for me, because I am partners with an accountant. So for most of that time I spend a lot of energy making sure she is happy, sleeping well, and that the house is not in shambles. It's a lot of work, but worth it to keep her happy while she works 10 hour days, 7 days a week, for 3+ months. She does a lot of work and the least I can do is make that time bearable for her. But it is stressful. Then on top of that I said goodbye to my old job to set off as a freelance designer and make my own way in the world. Yes, I work from home. Yes, I have the freedom to do whatever I want whenever I want. And yes I feel crushing anxiety to succeed and not fall flat on my face. Oh then on top of that there is the need to interact with people constantly, skype, talk on phones, deal with unhappy clients, so my social anxiety skyrocketed. But I move forward and push myself to get over that each day. Well anyways, it's a wonderful time and I'm lucky to be where I am at, but my nutrition and exercise have fallen victim to the past 3 months or so. That is why I have ended up back here at the battle log section. I need to make some small strides and section out some time each day to focus on my health and get back to feeling like I did a few short months ago. Here is a new start...

  19. Yeah. I've been super not up to date with things around here. You know, trials and tribulations of starting a new business and jumping in head first. I'm starting to get more of a routine now though, so I think I'm going to start slowly build habits for my day to day. First will probably be daily meditation... and coming back here to report to y'all. Big life changes, slowly re-incorporating good habits. I think that is the way to go. ... idk.
