  1. I've been trying hard to get into the last few challenges, I make these big opening posts with graphics and try to edit them to look cool and catch a few followers, but I never stick to them. This time I'm going to do things differently. I'll have a post up with some realistic goals tonight and I'm going to focus more on the journey than the success markers. I'm going to work on being open and direct with my progress, instead of putting a ton of pressure on looking cool. I'm going to pick up from where I left off and move forward.
  2. Had a protein bar for breakfast and planning on hitting up Chipotle for lunch today. Tonight is going to be a test, my gf's 21st birthday and we're going to Olive Garden. Carb City! I've never tried to eat health consciously at Olive Garden so this will be interesting for sure. How I love thee, endless bread sticks... but alas, we shall never the same. This weekend we're having a big party to celebrate her 21st, so I'll need to avoid the need to feed on all of our meats and cheeses. I will probably have a burger and am going to limit alcohol in order to make sure others stay safe. Taking one for the team and keeping health conscious. +1
  3. Tonight I will begin my training to become Aquaman. Wish me well.
  4. Found out last night class was cancelled for this morning so I got to sleep in today. Felt amazing! It's nice being able to sleep in one in awhile. It was only an extra hour-ish, but hey, I'm happy for it. At work now, have a hot pocket and velveeta cheese n shells for lunch later. Not the best lunch, but not the worst.
  5. Monday is the time for a fresh beginning. Class went well, got out early so I got to work early, that's good because it means we go to the gym early! I love getting to the gym before the rush because we can flow through the machines without having to wait forever. All I've had today is almonds, but I'll be getting lunch soon.
  6. I'm so excited! My challenge has been renamed to Living for The American Dream in honor of the passing of Dusty Rhodes. His dramatic weight loss inspired me and with his sad passing, I will live on with his memory in my heart. Maybe I should bust out an American Dream promo at the gym tomorrow...or maybe some polka dots...
  7. So all hope of normalcy for this week has gone, but I am resolved to get back into the regular scheduled plan come Monday.
  8. Yeah, it was pretty rough all day. I felt much better after lunch though. That's an abnormality, so hopefully it doesn't become more common.
  9. Finally had lunch! Man it was a welcome comfort. Boneless skinless chicken breast cooked in lemon pepper spice mix. I also had a small side of couscous which I talked my gf into making for our lunches. Tasty!
  10. I skipped breakfast today due to being late and as of right now 1:03pm have still not eaten anything. This is probably not a good thing.
  11. I've managed to avoid pop, drinking only flavored water. I've eaten really clean and I've been moving around a lot at work. I feel like today has thus far been a success.
  12. RIP "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes 1945-2015 Dusty Rhodes was one of my favorite wrestling talkers. His "hard times" promo was one of the best I'd heard when I was younger and reminds me that you can overcome. He died this last weekend and I've been pretty sad about it. I know I had no connection to him personally other than being a fan, but I did have the honor of being at his Hall of Fame induction a few years back and I will remain a fan until I too leave this place.
  13. Ok the last weekend+ has been a whirlwind. I'll try to sum it up for you without overloading. Vacation to Corpus Christi! Woo! Texas State Aquarium was awesome and I love dolphins. Got to pet a shark, yes I'm a badass. Ate better than I could've, but still had a good time. Got in a lot of time in the pool and the ocean right before Tropical Storm Bill or Hurricane Bill whatever came through. Came home, was sick from something food related. HAWKS WIN! HAWKS WIN! HAWKS WIN! Now I'm back at work and feeling better. I'm down weight, have a tan and feel pretty darn good considering. I did not desert you, I was merely away.
  14. I kept reading, if only hoping IT happens and I get Xtreme Bread. I was kept entertained by the interspersed wrestling GIFs which make me a very happy man.
  15. So for the uninitiated, Bush's chicken is like a big deal where I live. I'm not sure if it's a central Texas thing or not, I've only been here like 5 months, but it's huge here. So my gf wanted to go there for lunch on our break. I haven't had real fast food in weeks so I needed to be smart. I did pretty good considering the amount of damage you can do at a Bush's. No fries, no gravy, just a couple of what they call "tender rolls". These are delicious crispy chicken strips wrapped lovingly into buttery, melt in your mouth dinner rolls. I did also have two sips of her Dr. Pepper, which is the only pop I've had in weeks as well. This cannot become a habit! Also, yes I call it pop. Although I currently live in Texas I'm a Chicagoland boy at heart and that will never change. #POPNOTSODA #SORRYNOTSORRY
