  1. Week two stats: Group Cycle: 2! BWE: 0 push ups: 0 No thesis advancement 28 mile long ride. Got a little off my routine this past week. This week I've been sick. No group cycle so far and at this point, no plans to. I will try to make a long ride by the end of the week though. I'm also working back to the point where I do my BWE by doing some yoga this morning. So far I've been kind of flip-flopping on which parts of my goals I can accomplish. Hoping to get this leveled out by the end of next week.
  2. Wow, thanks! I didn't even notice that had happened! I surely will. Luck to you too!
  3. Good day Rebels! I'm all signed up for my first six week challenge but I'm a little behind in posting. Here's my first set of goals: Main Quest: Simple. Stick with it. If I want to make it at all I have to start small. So basically, instead of saying my main quest is something like, bike 200 miles in the next six weeks, I just want to see if I can follow through with my first challenge. Kind of lame maybe but hey, I'm a busy chick and I dare say I know me better than you. 3 Goals: Attend a group cycle class twice a week at the gym Do the beginner body weight exercises 3 times a week (starting with sets of 2, progressing to sets of 3) Increase the amount of push-ups I can do from 5 to 10 (still in easy mode but we'll get there)Life Side Quest: Get my thesis proposal in! I'm finishing my graduate degree if it's the last thing I do, and trust me, it won't be. This will be tough. I need to compile a bibliography, write a literature review, and bundle this in a proposal. This is usually a 20-30 page affair. Sometimes as much as 50. This also means research. Lots and lots of research. Which means sitting. Lots and lots of sitting.Fitness Side Quest: All this sitting makes me antsy. I'd like to try and complete at least one long bike ride a week, 30 miles or more. Last week stats: Group Cycle: 1 BWE: x2! push ups: 5 (each set) Compiled bib sources No long ride
  4. Salutations Nerds! I am Cmaam, I am a scout, and I plan to go far. Today I tested out the beginner body weight exercises. Pretty great, other than the push ups. This will be a big goal for me this fall/winter. I need me some stronger shoulders, ya know, for lifting my steed over rocks and rivers... (steed= my bike <3). I love my bike! This is why I decided to join the other scouts, I love riding longer and longer distances. This summer I completed a 76 mile ride, and though I totally puked (8 hours of riding will do ya) I can only strive to improve. I want to work on nutrition for these kinds of rides (ei: no burgers at the halfway point) and generally getting stronger and going farther (and further). Anyway, started out today with a few sun salutations, went through the exercises, and finished up with 100 sit-ups (yay core strength!). I'm unsure how to best set my goals, I have a tendency to get ambitious and push myself too hard. This just makes me frustrated and want to quit. I'm also back in school and suuuuper busy finishing my master's degree, so I need to make sure my priorities are in order and my deadlines attainable. I'm looking forward to the first 6 week challenge, but could use a few pointers from my fellows on how to set good goals. I hope to take this to the next level someday and maybe try out for ranger class... maybe assassin after that... I'm super pleased to be here, but in my nervous excitement I'm sure I'm doing things a little wrong. Let's work together!
  5. Awesome work! I too aspire to be a camel-riding powerhouse well into my golden years. Cheers to you!
