  1. Good Morning! This morning I woke up, made an apple Crisp (mmmm smells good), removed the screens from the windows, made a delicious healthy breakfast, and have just weighed in to myfitnesspal account with success. What a terrible week and other than drinking lots of water... once again I got sick!! I started this challenge with a minor cold. Unfortunately I didn't realize that cold medicine has acetaminophen in it, and didn't realize it until I went to the doctor, 3 days into not eating. :-(... simple cold, I need different meds. I ended up going to bed at 8pm for that week, and I got over the cold more quickly than I ever remember having done before!! So I'm finally feeling better. Complete one morning of goals (I don't push when I'm sick) plan my Thursday morning 1 hour yoga class... OOPS, now I have strep. Cancel Yoga, no more goals... now I can't even drink water (it hurts.) Strep is really terrible. So today I am finally feeling better. Minor symptoms of the infection wearing off and I have to put off my medication until it is all gone from my system. I finally feel well enough to do things, and I get sick then sick all month. Terrible. So Today is a Sunday and the first of the month. Great day to start things.. a bit different from my original goals but now-Christmas 1) Track your Spending! Track every single purchase for everything... sort into category w/ receiptTalk to accountant about new business plan2) Water! Water will always be my goal 3) Walking! Now that I am feeling better, I would like to start walking again. I also plan to pick up the pace of walking and maybe find hills to walk up, or stairs. I hate being sick :-( WAH!
  2. I have really bad posture too! In addition to being mindful about your posture all day; you probably already know the trick: start with scrunching your shoulders up to your ears, then push them as far backward as you can go, then gently bring your shoulders down - that is what a straight back feels like. The reason our posture is bad is because our shoulders are weak! Try standing beside an open doorway, put your left hand on the left wall and walk through the doorway, without twisting, and stop when you can't go further. This is to stretch out the muscles at the front of your shoulders - do the same with the right hand. Push ups, and downward dog! to strengthen those muscles. Do it several times a day if you can! The more you use the muscles, the easier it gets!
  3. Different temperature effect our body differently! Warm water helps your digestive system get kicking, and I have a digestive disease, so it's important to calm my belly, and start the day off right! If you add a little lemon it adds LOTS more health benefits! Drinking cold water throughout the day, and with meals because cold water lowers your body temperature, which causes your body to start working! You will burn a couple of calories working to get the temp back to normal, and you will feel fuller faster, because you're body has already begun the digestive process!!
  4. My first challenge went... okay. I did better than most other times I've tried, but I think I can do better. So Here it is! My Second Challenge; Main Quest: To lose weight, feel healthy and look good naked ;-) I am beginning the week with health problems - a cold maybe, so I'm going to keep my goals pretty small - energy needed-wise. I am also back at work Full time starting on the 11th, so my goals can't aim too high, I need to adjust to 8 less hours in my day!! Now my boyfriend quit his job (which we are not quite prepared for) and we will be starting up his construction business.... my life is going to be pretty darn busy! Trackable Goals: 1. Water - 76oz Water Begin everyday with a warm glass of water, and get colder as the day goes on Track using Water Tracking App 2. Walk/Stairs in the Morning Raise Body Temperature with 5 min of Cardio 3. Yoga in the Mornings. Just starting with 5 minutes - sun salutations. Track using a Yoga Calendar No extra goal this time... things are going to be hard enough already. But a cold needs rest and relaxation, and I can't be pushing myself too hard. On the brighter side of things we officially have no money to go out (practically no money at all) but that means that my boyfriend will finally be on board with eating only at home, only healthy veggie-filled plates! So I will see on Monday - do my measurements and check in.
  5. I know I'm really late but I just measured: When I began: 157.4 lbs Mid-way: 154.5 lbs Now: 152.5 lbs Chest: 37 Chest: 37 Chest: 36 Waist: 37.5 Waist: 36 Waist: 34 Hips: 39 Hips: 38 Hips 38 WHATTT?! Even though I can see some results, I'm not sure its good news. I have been getting sick again and one of the symptoms is weight loss (although, my waist has never been this small in comparison to my bust and hips...) I just don't know what to do anymore. I feel like I'll be sick forever. I just read an article about perceived strength, and how a person with chronic illness had a personal training session that pushed her, but didn't break her like she thought it would. But most of the trainers I have talked to acts as if I am making up the fact I'm sick and have limits (which I do, since I kept hurting myself when I began) Sigh... moving on...
  6. I am feeling very emotional right now, though I was before this happened, to be fair. I just did my check-in when I realized it was the half way point in this 6-week challenge (a little late, sure) and if I ever had the motivation to finish, this is it! When I began: 157.4 lbs Now: 154.5 lbs Chest: 37 Chest: 37 Waist: 37.5 Waist: 36 Hips: 39 Hips: 38 It has been my goal for the longest time for my bust to be larger than my waist, and TA DA! All I had to do was give up the shit I was doing to myself. All I had to do was walk, Yoga on Tuesday, and quit pop and fast food. That's it. I can't wait to see what happens next!
  7. Alright! I am now back at work (second day tomorrow!) and I am not as frazzled as I thought I would be. I feel like my alone time is going to be cut down, but if I am keeping busy, I will just have to make me time, or forget I need it! ;-) Yoga twice a week has changed to Warm yoga... luckliy it's not hot but I'm not that happy. BUT since there are no other classes offered in the mornings, looks like I'm keeping with it. Water has been slow going. I don't know why it is so hard for my body to drink water. Pop, which is so terrible for me, I can down 4 liters in a minute. But water fills my belly, and makes me a little nauseated. But I'm drinking more and more everyday! I have finally got my boyfriend on board with my goals to change my diet, I told him to buy snacks I don't like, or hide them! I have my two favourite pops hidden somewhere, and if I go looking for them, I will feel so stupid! I am making a spinach dip tonight and did not buy chips for dipping! All in all, I am not doing things EXACTLY as I planned, but I'm new at planning. I AM making great changes that are sustainable and I've been doing better than I ever have yet! Recently a medication brought me back to my high weight, and I haven't lost much weight, but my small clothes are beginning to fit, and my whole body is changing shape (in a good way!) Can't wait to see what I do next!
  8. Thanks fiOWNya!! I would love that! I am currently reading NF's "How to eat healthy without breaking the bank" and I am very picky :-( I am going to have to get creative!!
  9. It was going well...until I noticed how badly my diet was suffering. I am keeping my walk everyday, and drink water - I think these are very realistic goals for me, but a better goal, than beginning my strength training I think is going to be going some sort of paleo/primal lifestyle, and making a good habit of eating good solid meals, and staying away from the crap I fall into when I get lazy (which is what happens when I am getting active!) So I think I will continue going to Yoga once per week, because I really enjoy how it makes my body feel and it's almost a habit already. Drink water - and since I am going paleo, it is almost ONLY water! (It is amazing how quickly I become addicted to pop!!) Walk - I love the fall! It's so nice outside this time of year, but I need to buy nicer pants :-) Possible reward? Paleo meal planning! Which I am about to start planning! Wish me luck, maybe I will spend some money on it since I am going back to work soon!!
  10. I got an app that makes the sound of water pouring every hour to remind me! It's making me jump a little, but it's making me drink!
  11. What a weekend! My brother got married on the 21st, and despite all the things I had to do on Thursday, I still worked in my first Beginner Bodyweight Curcuit. I did pretty terribly, but that's because I've been so unactive! The more I do the easier will get, I just have to DO IT! I never got to go for my walk from Thursday through today, but I think I made up for it with all the running around errands, and lifting while shopping. Let me tell you - Rental suits, with shoes time 6? WOW! Heavy. I definitely lifted heavy today! My return to work has been postponed again, so I will have at least another week to put my life together so "no time" can never be an excuse. I wont lie - water has been neglected. Although today I had some. I realized I was awake for 22 hours yesterday and my body is hurting today!! Well that was my last sibling getting married so it wont happen again!! Note to self: Good job getting active and keeping your appointments with your fitness. BUT Drink more water!! Wake up - Water Breakfast? - Water. Do dishes - Water Want Orange juice? - Water!!!!!!! Life Goal - I wanted to read everyday but...brothers wedding. Friday, Saturday, just not possible to read. I'll get going tonight ;-)
  12. Now... Walking to Mordor with my new pedometer :-)

  13. My body is hurting from Yoga. It was a bit more challenging this week because there was more than just me in the class. Only two others though. BUT despite the hurting, I still woke up, ate a delicious Pepper/Spinach Frittata for breakfast, and cleaned my upstairs. I am on my break right now (whew!) and decided to post. VERY nervous about potentially heading back to work early as next week!! But before I left I was walking a bit. It will be difficult having good lunches and dinners now that I will be full time! But it's a gradual return so I'll have a bit of time to get used to it. Luckily it's in a very rich Town with lots of fresh, healthy options. I only drank 20oz of water, but I'm already at 20 today, so I will get used to it. Plus today is going to be 20 degrees Celcius, so beauty day for a walk! but my pedometer broke :-( so I should get an app to track...
