  1. Exactly. You can only do what you can. Last week was just going to be different and not worth the stress or giving up sleep to get them done. Last Week Ride: 2/2 ✔ - Got in about 26.66 which was good considering the week. I sort of miscalculated my week or I might have tried to do that a little different oh well. It is fine still. PT 2x a week: 0/2 - I spaced it with everything else going on. Food: 3/2 ✔ Track water consumption: 6/7 - Forgot to track Wednesday and a couple days. I'm not entirely sure I added everything, but close enough to know I got at least 2 L the whole week. 5 minutes working on to-do list: 2/7 - This is excused this week do to a work project taking up a lot of extra hours. Sunday Ride: 1/2 - 15.33 mi. Got a ride in. PT 2x a week: 0/2 Food: 0/2 - None so far, but I haven't had dinner yet. Half tempted to skip dinner or just have a small snack instead. Track water consumption: 1/7 - 2L 5 minutes working on to-do list: 1/7 - Got a bit done today Today I went and got a new saddle for my bike as I know I need a couple upgrades on my bike as the saddle and shoes are not ideal. I took it on a ride and I hate it. It is worse than my last saddle. I am a bit upset at myself for buying it. Part of it was better as it was wide enough for me, but the nose has too much pressure. I don't think I can take it back either. I was hoping to go on a longer ride, but couldn't. Which was ok as I got too late of a start today. Nov. Side Quest Finally I can get the numbers from my car. Turns out the car was actually 64.4 when we last left off. I got a ride in today and had to do some errands. Bike 75.36 mi vs. Car 71.5 mi - So for the first time at the end of the day the bike is winning. It is a shame I spent so much time to buy the wrong saddle or I could have increased this lead as I was planing on getting another 5-10 miles in today.
  2. Haha, I love it! Monday Ride: 1/2 - None PT 2x a week: 0/2 Food: 1/2 - Chicken and broccoli for dinner Track water consumption: 2/7 - 3L 5 minutes working on to-do list: 0/7 - I don't know I can do much on this most of the week. So not going to sweat it.
  3. Sat Ride: 2/2 ✔ PT 2x a week: 2/2 ✔ Food: 3/2 ✔ Track water consumption: 7/7 ✔ - 3L 5 minutes working on to-do list: 7/7 ✔ - I got a ton done on Saturday. My house it pretty clean. Pretty happy with it. I still have a lot of organization and projects to do. But it was nice to get so much done. Sunday Ride: 1/2 - 13.95 mi. Got a ride in. PT 2x a week: 0/2 Food: 0/2 Track water consumption: 1/7 - 3L 5 minutes working on to-do list: 0/7 - Nov. Side Quest Bike 47.32 mi vs. Car ? (61.2ish) mi - My car is away from me right now and I forgot to check the mileage. So this will be a bit of a mystery. I think I did an additional 10 miles or so on it.
  4. I think you are good. Also consider in any RPG progressing through the levels is fast in the beginning so you are true to form. At the end of the day if it helps you to get the work in how fast you go through levels doesn't really matter.
  5. Haha, the naturual tendancy is to stop what is triggering it. However a lot of times it is a matter of needing to strengthen something. The annoying ones are when the thing that hurts does so because the thing opposite or down the chain is weak or too tight.
  6. I know right! I have more errands to do, but will not be able to put any miles on my car for most of next next week due to a work thing. So chances are good that it can catch up. I want to add 10% per week right now on the long ride so if I can hit that it will look good for the bike.
  7. I was worried about it as it felt like a gamble on how I would handle it. But decided that freaking out about it now was probably better to figure out a plan. ----------------------------------- I officially signed up. I don't know why I didn't before. Maybe I liked the fantasy of it more than the reality? Maybe cause I have wanted this so long I am scared to hope for it. I did go out for a ride today. I had a lot of trouble sleeping last night so go a later start. And thought I had to be back for a meeting. I ended up with 22 miles. I had a little wind today. I haven't actually had that for any rides yet remarkably. I forgot how big of a difference that can make. I thought about doing part of the route today, but it would have included a hill that I am sort of scared of right now. I don't think I can climb well enough for that yet. Friday Ride: 2/2 - Got 22 miles in. Ave mph wasn't too bad for as slow as it felt. PT 2x a week: 2/2 - I might do this in a bit. I do feel the need for it today on the bike. So I need to get on this. Food: 2/2 - Dinner I had a Poke bowl. I will count it for this. Seaweed salad = veggies and protein. Track water consumption: 6/7 - 3.75 5 minutes working on to-do list: 6/7 - I got quite a bit done today I feel like. I need to do as well tomorrow. I was really fatigued today so I was happy for what I could get done. Nov. Side Quest Bike 33.37 mi vs. Car 51.2 mi
  8. Yeah, I think it was a matter of changing expectations. I really need to do more, but baby steps is better than none. Thursday Ride: 1/2 - None. PT 2x a week: 2/2 - Work went late, then had an appointment. Food: 1/2 - I had to order food due to today's schedule. I had last minute changes so didn't have any chance to plan anything out food wise. Track water consumption: 5/7 - 2.75 5 minutes working on to-do list: 5/7 Nov. Side Quest Bike 10.98 mi vs. Car 44.8 mi
  9. Congrats on the plumbing project. Some of those things are so frustrating. Glad you got it done. I have wondered about those blue light glasses.
  10. Week to date Ride: 1/2 - Got in a ride just under 11 miles. It was good to get back out again. PT 2x a week: 2/2 - I actually did do the PT after my post on Monday and again yesterday. Going back to the super simple just glute bridges if necessary. Food: 1/2 - Had a salad for dinner last night. Really not feeling the meat lately. Not sure why. Track water consumption: 4/7 - 3.5L 5 minutes working on to-do list: 4/7 Nov. Side Quest Bike 10.98 mi vs. Car 18.2 mi
  11. The spirit of the goal is to do more than 5 minutes. With the idea being the first 5 minutes are the hardest. So although getting the 5 minutes done. I'm not really getting much accomplished. Sunday Ride: 0/2 - None PT 2x a week: 0/2 - None Food: 0/2 - Not really feeling the meat right now. Track water consumption: 1/7 - 2.75L 5 minutes working on to-do list: 1/7 - Got the minimum in again Monday Ride: 0/2 - None, I'm still taking it really easy right now. I have a thing next week and I need to make sure I don't over do anything and trigger extra tiredness. PT 2x a week: 0/2 - None yet. I might in a few minutes. I will edit if so. Food: 0/2 - None. I really don't feel like eating. Bleh Track water consumption: 2/7 - 3.5L 5 minutes working on to-do list: 2/7 - I got a little bit down today. Nov. Side Quest Bike 0 mi vs. Car 10.4 mi The car pulls ahead with an early lead. The store I thought was right down the street was at a different area than I thought it was. Their machine was down and I couldn't buy what I went there for any way. Sigh
  12. Friday Ride: 1/2 - Skipped again as I was a bit worried about the tiredness. PT 2x a week: 1/2 - The beginning always sucks as your body isn't doing the movements well so it feels mostly frustrating. Food: 4/2 - I just had soups all day. Track water consumption: 6/7 2.5L 5 minutes working on to-do list: 5/7 - Didn't do a lot. I'm a tad disappointed in my lack of progress on this. Side Quest Bike 115.22 mi vs. Car 132 mi (adjusted) No change Saturday Ride: 2/2 ✔ - Subbed a hike for the ride since I had about 15 miles in the one ride. Under the circumstances it is ok. PT 2x a week: 2/2 ✔ - I didn't want to start off by failing such an easy goal. Especially one that can prevent injury or pain. So I did the minimum I set for myself at the onset. Food: 4/2 ✔ - I can't recall what I ate yesterday at all, but I don't think I had meat so I didn't do this. Track water consumption: 7/7 ✔ - 4.25L 5 minutes working on to-do list: 6/7 - Didn't do a lot. I'm a tad disappointed in my lack of progress on this. Oct Side Quest So it was the final day I drove out to the trail and home for: Bike 115.22 mi vs. Car 157.7 mi (adjusted) I thought it was interesting to see how this shaped up. With some better planning I could have possibly tied this. I did find myself competitive and not want to allow the car to win so I had to put a stop to that to build the bike more systematically rather than going too hard and then maybe regretting it. After I took down the miles I then . . . drove the entire century hahahaha for a "true" Oct adjusted (not counting the 298 mile camping trip) of 115.22 miles on the bike and 260 miles on the car. When I saw Oct ended on the weekend I decided to do this so I could see what the mileage would be, but able to drive the route. I have to say I was a bit afraid to drive the route as I really want to do this and didn't want anything to psych me out. However I actually found that it gave me a lot of confidence in a good plan. There are about three hilly parts. One towards the beginning I think it is, one fairly minor in the middle, and one towards the end maybe in the 80's? Looking at the elevation the first one was the most steep and the last was a long incline. I can literally train on the first climb all the time. It is probably closer than my other options. The third one is way far from my house, but I think I know of a couple places to get a similar ride. So I feel really happy coming away from this. I was afraid of crazy steep hills, but there is only one I am a bit weary of, but only right now. It is similar to hills on a route I use to do I think and it just before the main first climb. But for now I will avoid it. I did find a couple good spots to park to have a good rolling hill route. So I came away with a good game plan I think. One thing that I think my coaches at the gym helped me with a lot. Learning how to look at a physical feat and figuring out a plan of attack based on where I am and how to break it down.
  13. Nice. Try it! 😊 Yes, ma'am Yes, ma'am So when I got off work I was starving. So I ate dinner then did my PT. I couldn't stand the shame of showing my face here without doing so. So thank you! I think I need to dial in my eating. I have been trying to track and I am seeing inconsistency of like few calories in the morning and then more at night other days more spread across the day. I think this could be some of my weariness. Add to that not sleeping well and just regular fatigue stuff and it is difficult. I had a plan that was working beautifully for me, but then it was suggested I go keto for health reasons. Keto didn't help me. I have issues with eating anyway and that put me back in an emotional place about not wanting to eat food cause I didn't feel well on it. As soon as I finished the test phase I was back into bad habits of putting off eating as long as possible and not really planning out meals. I keep trying to go back to the plan before keto, but I am having trouble with the motivation. The calories were dispersed well over the day though. Thurssday Ride: 1/2 - Been tired and don't want to push it. PT 2x a week: 1/2 - Thanks to Kestrel and Xena I got this done. 3 sets of 20 glute bridges, 3 sets of 20 ish 4-way hip exercises, and 2 sets of 5 15lb negative seated press. (is it still called a press if a negative?). I was having trouble controlling the press as in it felt like everything wasn't engaging right? Idk it was odd I might jump down to #10s and do more reps to have better engagement. It might just be my body needs a refresher and not really about strength at all. Food: 4/2 - No change here. I was starving quite suddenly by lunch and grabbed fast food. And had a frozen specialty pizza for dinner. "Keto"? Glluten free? I forget which. Track water consumption: 5/7 sitting at 3.25 liters right now. I should get to maybe 3.5 or more. 5 minutes working on to-do list: 3/7 - I forgot about this and literally started a timer so I can say I did it. But at least its something. I never assembled much of a list which is a bit of a problem. I need to work on assembling it. Side Quest Bike 115.22 mi vs. Car 132 mi (adjusted) Oh if I wasn't so tired I could have beat the car. It looks unlikely to happen now. Originally I didn't think it was possible, but as time went on I realized there was a real chance of beating it. So I guess it's ok that I even came this close. I wasn't sure what my car mileage would be. I was looking at numbers and I did 42 miles one day. If I merely didn't forget my mask and planned my route better bike would be ahead!
  14. Nice. Mid November seems like a good plan.
  15. So I realized I forgot to update my side quest. I'm sure you all were just DYING to know what the score was. Haha, jk. Tonight I didn't forget it though. It is helping to prevent apathy of Covid-19 social distancing. It seems like others aren't really doing that any more. I ask myself do I really want to let the car miles win? Do I have my list together so I won't forget anything and have to come back out? It has been basically a tied a couple times after I rode and before doing errands for the week. Wednesday Ride: 1/2 - Rest day PT 2x a week: 0/2 - The start is looking worse. 😞 Food: 4/2 - Cooked up meat and had some cabbage again. Why is cutting up some cabbage and cooking it up not a thing? It's delicious. Track water consumption: 4/7 tracked water today 5 minutes working on to-do list: I barely eeked out 5 min. But I finally remembered to call the doctor. Side Quest Bike 115.22 mi vs. Car 129.9 mi (adjusted)
  16. Yeah, I am starting to realize that I am going to be riding a bit in the dark. When I was training for a 5k I would run at night and there are definitely issues to it. I am lucky that the only "attacker" I really feel I need to worry about is a coyote, but the inability to see potholes and such was difficult. I would like lap the same mile loop since I knew where everything was.
  17. Yeah, I was thinking the same about how similar yours was to mine. lol.
  18. Yay!! Another cyclist challenge. Looks like you have some good goals. As far as the start is now better than later? Probably! You can mode the first goal to be prorated or just stay past in the next zero week. Either way works.
  19. I wasn't aware I was that cold. I had wanted to take a bath, but didn't have the time. Most of my cold weather doesn't fit me. I gained a bit of weight in 2018 and haven't gotten rid of it yet. Our winter's haven't been that cold over the past few years so I hadn't even considered the need for cold gear. I will get some non-cotton long sleeve shirts for sure and pants. But it is suppose to be a high of 85 by the end of the week again so I should have time before it is cold again.
  20. When is your next 5k? It's virtual right? But is there a particular day you have to do it or is it freeform in a date range? That is a lot of cooking!
  21. That is cool. It makes sense those would have to exist. I can't imagine trying to run in all that though. You are a trooper.
  22. I woke up early this morning for a ride. Let the dog out and weather seemed good. Put on long sleeve shirt and full finger gloves and hit the road. I rode slowly to warm up, but my left knee just wouldn't warm up. So I took it kind of easy the whole trip. I grabbed a neck gaiter last minute in case there was a ton of people on the multipath section. I ended up using it the whole time just to keep my ears warm. I got home an realized it was 38°. I was very cold when I got home and after a warm shower and that seems to have been a bad idea. My skin reacted very angrily. I'm not really sure what that was about, but I'm guessing to different too quickly. After the shower I was still freezing. I am going to have to figure out how to deal with the cold in case it is a cold winter. We haven't had one in quite some time and I've not really cycled in anything below 50 probably. I forgot how different it is from running in cold. I hope I haven't stressed my system too much. It was hot not that long ago. Tuesday Ride: 1/2 - 14.76 PT 2x a week: 0/2 -Not a good start is it? Food: 3/2 - Had left overs for lunch plus beets Track water consumption: 3/7 tracked water today 5 minutes working on to-do list: I didn't do this and I am not going to force it today.
  23. And did it work?
  24. Hmm, I never thought of this. Are there waterproof shoes for running in winter or do you use trail runners?
