  1. Good luck! i'm also looking at joining the ranks of the assassins after my first challenge as my primary sport at the moment is bouldering! Good luck!
  2. Hey! Thought i'd follow this post as im looking at joining the assassins after my current challenge! I'm a boulderer too, trying to shed as much fat as possible to make things a little easier! Also, trying as much as possible to work on my foot work, as my reach isnt great! Good luck! Bambamty.
  3. Hello there! Thought id follow you as im looking at joining the ranks of the assasins upon completion of my first challenge! And your current goals are similar to mine atm in terms of the body weight stuff, and it'd be good to get some extra motivation! Good luck.
  4. Good luck! You seem extremely determined and you should hugely succeed!
  5. Quick update: I've had to take the weekend away from bouldering, as I think I've injured my foreearms, (a lot of pain when gripping open holds). So I'm taking a few days off to allow any potential tendons to recover, and lots of protein to allow muscle recovery. Going to go for a big bike ride tomorrow as the weather is looking good! Also, the weight appears to be moving in the correct direction, definitely feeling a lot better, and looking a bit leaner too!
  6. Welcome to the rebellion! Good luck with the challenge!
  7. Look forward to being inducted! My goals are currently adapting as im climbing more reds (v3-v5), id like to climb a yellow route (v5-v7/v9) i believe before i break up for the christmas holidays. A big target i know, but if i keep things up it should be achievable!
  8. Hey! Thanks for the encouragement! Checked the grading on the climbs the other day, and the reds are v3 - v5 sports/french grade i think. Found a good bodyweight excercise program that is 3 times per week circuit style all most, going to start this tomorrow as it'll help with the pushups/general toning.
  9. Two weeks in and stuff is going very well! last time i checked i was down two pounds, and ive started climbing the red routes at the local climbing centre! 4 more weeks to go, bring it on! And good luck to everyone else with there challenges!
  10. Been on my second bike ride this week (around 26 miles or 42 km), feeling leener, and healthier with each day (less larthargic). Bring on the next 5 weeks or so.
  11. So i was at home from university for a few days to pick my new bike up , and got myself on the scales (same ones i weighed myself on at day 1 to keep things consistent. And i've lost a pound! i know it's nothing major, but hey it's going in the right direction! Sometimes my weight can fluctuate if i eat a large meal/ drink a lot of water, but i weighed myself a few times and nothing changed! Time to step things up, diet is going to get stricter tomorrow (get paid from student finance), and also the cardio can increase as i have my own bike again! Bambamty.
  12. Cheers for the advice, my main goal is to lose about a stone. I'm not too overweight really, im just getting into my rock climbing more, and cycling too, so any excessive fat is going to hold me back. I'll have a look at what dumbells are available at the local fitness store.
  13. Hey guys, decided to make me a loaf of civilised caveman's banana bread, will be good to have something sweet when those cravings get a bit too much that isnt full of crap. Other than that the challenge seems to be going well.
  14. Hi guys, recently started the 6 week challenge, and looking for an overall and gradual body change to a leaner better version of my physical self. My current excerice regime is climbing 3/4 times a week which is great for all my pulling muscles/core, and cycling when i have the chance which is obviously great for overall cardio. My question is should i buy some weights? And in which form from the above? THe idea is that i can then work my "pushing" muscles, i.e shoulders, triceps etc? Opinions? Thanks.
  15. Attended my first climbing fitness class, simply the best workout of my life so far. And that includes strongman style workouts over the summer. The paleo is going very well, sticking away from all the nasties, looking forward to seeing some progress.
  16. So a couple of days in and things are going very well. I have a climbing based fitness class i am attending this evening, and i get to pick up my new bike later this week too. The fat should (hopefully) be melting off soon.
  17. Good luck! Will be interesting to see lots of people journeys develop!
  18. So for a few months i've been looking at the primal/paleo lifestyle, and i simply LOVE the look of it, it just makes so much logical sense to me. For the past week or so since being back at university ive been easing my way into things (cutting out wheat for one), and eating as much fresh produce as possible. A little about me: i used to be a big guy when i was about 16 (16.5 stone at 5'10"), then when i hit 6th form/ college (ages 16-18) i lost around 3 stone of that in about 6 weeks due to illness. However i am still a bit bigger than i would like to be at 13 stone (i lost 7 pounds last academic year). I have recently gotten into rock climbing and cycling, so any excessive pound of fat is simply hindering me, so without further hesistation, my challenge over the next 6 weeks will be: My main quest is to drop from my current body fat percentage (around 20 i think, i will post a picture so you guys can estimate/track progress etc) to around 12%-15%, the actual body mass loss i am looking at losing will be around 1 stone (12-14 pounds) would be nice. My three specific goals to help me do this will be: 1) Be as paleo/primal as possible. 2)To be able to do 10-20 pullups, currently at 4, but we have a pull up bar at home so this should be a good start. 3) 50 pushups, currently at 25. i think with a large volume of body weight exercises i could keep burning a few calories at a time, to help maintain fat loss. Life side quest: To get above 80% in all my coursework assessments in my University course. (Any fellow physicists maybe we could work together on this one?) Fitness side quest: To be able to climb a red route at my local bouldering center, Not 100% what grades they are, but i will post an update for anyone interested. so thats my quest declared, i will post a few pictures of "day one". also, what would be a sensible amount of time to update photos? Weekly? Fortnightly? For every percentage body fat i can manage to drop, i will give myself one "grade" i.e 1% drop = F, 6% or more = A For every additional 5 pushups i can do, i will ward myself one grade, and every addition 2 pullups the same, these three scores will average to give me my main quest grade. Starting stats: 5'10", 183 pounds, waist 32%, chest 40% edits in blue. Mid way stats: 5'10, (not sure on weight, will weigh as soon as possible), waist 30", chest 40"
