  1. Challenge is going well so far, continuing good progress! been getting a bit of low back ache recently which i think is ude to a bit of APT, and low bar squatting ver squatting a bit too deep. Which type of squats do you guys prefer? What would you recomend for me? I'm 5'10" and have 30" legs?
  2. Nothing serious, just as a "finisher" for a few weeks before i go back to uni! Theres a novice strongman comp coming up in my hometown in august, might sign up for some motivation! Hope the challenge is going well everyone!
  3. Awesome challenge, new to the warriors here too after being with the Assassins! Look forward to following this challenge. Also doing stronglifts here, will probably throw in some strongman type sutff for the first three weeks!
  4. Woop woop! Second day of the challenge in the gym tomorrow, looking forward to it! Day A tomorrow, think i'm going incorporate some farmers walks in at the end! The gym i'm at for now has an outdoor area and some proper farmers bars!
  5. Try going when it's quiter? I find between 10am-3pm in the weekdays, as this is after the "pre-work rush" or first thing in the morning at the weekend when everyone is hungover!!
  6. Thats a cool idea! I may try something like that over the summer, when i have around 3 months at my home gym (big summers from uni rock) and will be able to see proper progress on the strong man stuff after i get an awesome foundation of strength built up!
  7. Yes! My gym has a log too! Might throw some dips and farmers walks in on day A, and log press and chin ups on day 2!
  8. Thanks for the response! Also, atlast stones make you feel like a BOSS!
  9. Hey guys! ive posted this on a few diff threads, but this is probs where i will get the most knowledge! So im at my folks house for a few weeks one aster vacation for uni, and my gym here has a load of strong man stuff! (prowlers, sleds, atlast stones, tyres etc). Im currently doing stronglifts 5*5 and thinking to combined some strongman stuff in there? i was thinking a potential workout could be: 30 minute walk to the gym (god damn not having a car) warm up with the sledge hammers to get the blood flowing Squats 5*5 oh press 5*5 bench press 5*5 then i was thinking doing either sled pulls \drags (depending on mood/availiability) or some strong man stuff? Opinions? WOuld this be beneficial?
  10. First challenge with the warriors, looking forward to smashing some serious strenght goals! Got 3 weeks at my home town gym before i go back to university. Will take advantage of the strongman stuff at this gym! Im thinking finishing off my stronglifts workout with either some prowler pushes, sled pulls, or some strong man stuff!
  11. Hey guys! First challenge with the ranks of the warriors, as ive been with the assassins previously! IT Change in circumstances meen i can't rock climb for a while, so what better excuse to become the strongest version of myself! Main Quest. My main quest is simply to become the strongest version of myself ive ever been, little vague i know so i'll break it down into a few goals. 1) 120kg deadlift for 1* 5 (currently at 80kg) 2) 100kg squats for 5*5 (currently at 87.5kg) 3) And bench press my own bodyweight for 5*5! To achieve this i need to set a few goals of course!: 1) Strong lifts 3 times per week, + 3 str (1 per each session a week averaged) 2) Track my calories! 3200 on a workout day, 3000 on rest days! (+ 2 Con) 3) Do cardio after each workout, this can be in the form of sled pulls (at my home gym) treadmills etc (at my uni city gym) or cycle twice a week! Trying to "bulk" atm, but i'd rather have slower muscle gains and be fitter! +2 STA However, this challenge is a little different for me! I am currently at home for my easter vacations (at the parents house) so i will be at one gym in this city, and then when i go back to uni a different gym! Whilst at my home town gym im going to take advantage of the strongman type stuff and sleds etc they have to offer, but this wont be an official part of my challenge as it's not consistent throughout the 6 weeks! Another thing i have to look forward to when i go back to uni is exams! Which leads me nicely on to my side quests!: 1) Revise 30 hours per week minimum. (+3 wisdom, 1 for each 10 hour per week averaged) 2) Get through my exams! (+1 WIS, +1 CHA) 3) master doing two diabolos! I've been SO close for months now, and don't commit enough time to it to get serious! (+1 CHA) Sorry about the lack of narrative guys, not really my forte, and they quickly lose momentum! Look forward to joining the ranks of the warriors! Quest summary. +3 STR +2 CON +2 STA +4 WIS +2 CHA
  12. Cheers! my grip strength is pretty powerful from rock climbing so much in the first semester! Though when i go back to my hoem town for vacations, my home gym has tons of strongman stuff! I think they even have proper farmers walk stuff!
  13. Sweeeet! A novice strongman competition is coming up in my hometown late summer, with a small sign up fee! Thinking i may enter to give myself some super motivation! Doubt ill place anywhere decent but just competing would be immense! Will stronglifts combined with some strongman type training when im at my home town gym (easter vactation, and after my final summer exams) put me in good stance? Any tips would be amazing!
  14. Okay cool, i might keep them out for the easter vacaction, and maybe throw in some sled pulls or something of that nature after soem workouts for a bit of cardio! However, when i go home for summer, may experiement with some strongman stuff then! Cheers
  15. Cheers for the help! I get on to the scales some times and think "is that it?" but not looking to dirty bulk here, so that settles me again! Quick question to everyone here: Going home for my easter vacation from Uni soon, and my home gym has a load of strongman equipment (tyres, sleds, prowlers ATLAS STONES) any tips on how i could incorporate this type of stuff into StrongLifts? P.s, i may just definitley be joining the warriors for my next few challenges!
  16. Woot woot! Gained 4 pounds in my first month of Stronglifts! And all my lifts are on the way up! Currently eating 3200 cals on workout days, and 2800 on rest days, may up this rest day intake to 3000 and see where i go from there!
  17. So the one month mark is rapidly approaching on monday, can't wait to get on the scales and see what progess ive made! Been using creatine for two weeks tomorrow now and seeing a few visible results (mostly in the arms and legs) will be interesting to see how they pan out come weigh in time!
  18. Im uber nazi about that! Mines always first thing i do when i wake up, if i weigh myself at night i don't "count" it? Also what are the general thoughts on the big scales you get in gyms? You know the ones where you put a coin in the side and its got a bigger display?
  19. Boom! 2 pounds gained! Going to keep at my current calorie level and re assess in two more weeks to make sure my weight gain isnt due to extra food in my system!
  20. Going to see the gf tonight, gonna weigh myself in as ive now done 2 full weeks of 5*5! Also, those were the scales i took my first reading on, so need to be very consistent, cant be messing about!
  21. You guys are awesome! I feel really bad for bothering you. But despite lifting in the past, ive never took it very seriously with a good end goal, so im still considering myself a noob! Thanks for all the help!
  22. Put on a pound since starting the program, goint to "officially" weigh myself in on Monday! How much is a good weight increase to be looking at? So i know to adjust calories?!
  23. Just finished my fifth workout on 5*5 and feeling good! Think i may join the ranks of the warriors for my next few challenges as i wont be able to climb for quite some time! (sorry assassins!)
  24. Lol, he really needs to get into the gym! Yeah, its only a half hour lesson, without being crazy intense, so it shouldnt burn too many calories! I walk about an hour a day too, so some decent gentle cardio there, ill weight myself in next friday (2 full weeks of 5*5) and see where im going!
