I'm still relatively new here on Nerd Fitness, and I did make an intro post here but this seems to be the main introduction subforum so hi everyone! I'm Mary, I'm 24, and am 4'11" and 104 pounds, which is on the high end for me weight wise. I tend to eat more in the fall and winter due to having SAD (I also have depression year round but it gets 10x worse in the fall and winter, bleh) sapping my energy. Anyway, what with my birthday having just passed and the winter months (December to February) looking mostly empty in terms of things to do besides the holidays, I figure why not do what I've been meaning to for awhile and gain some muscle? So I plan to start after New York Comic Con (October 10-13, whoo!) as said trip is my way of saying goodbye to the summer months (and my first ever real con/cosplay/etc). I'm currently looking up weight supplements/muscle supplements on Amazon, as well as barbells I could buy for a low price. (I'm kind of really poor and live off of government checks in a FamilyCare home) Anyway, I hope I can make some good friends here! -

Whee for both Homestuck and Avatar: the Last Airbender/Legend of Korra references! Anyway, I'm Mary, and I'm a 24 year old, petite and skinny biracial woman. (half black half white) I walk at least 5 times a week and my metabolism has always been ridiculously high, but right now I'm looking towards gaining some muscle. I had some from when I took jujutsu (got up to a blue belt which is before brown) but yknow, I don't have the money to pay for lessons. (I took them as a teenager & thus my dad paid for them) Still trying to figure out my guild. I'm very interested in parkour, still want to do martial arts (thanks to Avatar: the Last Airbender/Legend of Korra on Nickelodeon), and I eat pretty healthy as it is. Hello everyone! My Main Quest: Gain muscle/strength so people won't constantly underestimate me anymore and just because it's cool! 1) Start doing some of the exercises from the Nerd Fitness website until I find a routine that works for me 2) Add more protein into my diet even though I love meat as it is 3) Document my progress via the Nerd Fitness forums and my various blogs Life Side Quest: Get to the root of my anxiety problems (they cause me to do reckless/impulsive things that've gotten me into trouble before) Fitness Side Quest: N/A
