  1. New old clothes do indeed rock my world! Did have to go buy new jeans this weekend 'cause my old ones were too BIG! Yeah, I said BIG! The joy (as a 49 yr old) walking into an American Eagle and being able to grab jeans on the shelf that fit nicely is huge! Big smile on my face, huge!
  2. I said I'd measure, so I finally measured. Here's what I got, pretty sure I did it right. B - 41 W - 35 H - 43 I did just go buy jeans a size smaller than I had been wearing (16 to a 14) because mine were too loose and the new ones fit right. This isn't over, it's just begining! :-)
  3. ohai Just wanted to check in and say "Keep going!' Having a negative mindset day, but positively staying the course. :-)
  4. The pair of pants I am wearing today are the same ones I wore to my job interview 9 years ago. They were snug then, hardly worn after that due to being too snug...but today, perfect if not a little loose! WOOT!
  5. Update for today - Nope, got home after school and had to turn around to a social engagement, got home at 2:30 am -No measurements. However - today I am wearing the pair of pants I wore to my my interview for the position I currently hold and have held for the past 9 years. They were a tad snug then (and never worn much afterwards because of that), they are not now. In fact they're quite comfortable verging on a bit loose. Success!
  6. Last night was not conducive to measurement taking as I got home at 10:45pm and had to cook up some meat for today's lunch. This will get done today, when I go home after school at the regular hour of 3:00. I mean, we're all friends here, this shouldn't freak me out as much as it does.
  7. Hmm, let me see if I can format this in the correct way.... Main Quest - Fit into a size smaller than I currently wear Side Quests - 1. Limit myself to 4 100% Agave Tequila, lime, and soda water drinks per week 2. Do basic bodyweight workout 4x per week, and jog/walk at least 3 miles per week 3. Continue to work on non supported handstand at least 5 min 3 days per week. Motivation - To HAVE to purchase a new formal dress (because my others will be too large) for my graduation from an NEA Leadership program in March.
  8. I'm in the "Let's wear something smaller" Club too! Here if you need someone to vent to or share with :-)
  9. OK, I think I know what I am doing here. (which is probably like being the slut in a scary movie. It's going to all go so horribly wrong) Tonight when I get home I am going to try to take some measurements, and I am going to force myself to post them. Pics too if I don't die from posting my measurements on the internet. Then I am going to work on changing them to a lower number in 6 weeks. Sound about right? I've been doing the Paleo thing for 2 months now and have noticed results there. Even had someone at work today say, "I notice you look like you've lost some weight. Is that diet working for you?" to which I replied, "It's not really a diet, it's just how I eat. But yes, I have lost some weight" Now I'm going to work on knocking more off and tightening up what I've got.
  10. I sent all the rice, granola cereals, and pasta home with the grown up son. He even took a large bag of confectioners sugar with him as well. Fridge has nothing but veggies, fruit, and meat in it. OK, some Almond Milk and homemade iced coffee too. Done!
  11. Thanks to the community on this site, and one member in particular (Damaramu), I went and met with a Physical Trainer yesterday, and will be going back again today. I'm not a "spa" gym type of person, and Damaramu suggested I find a "dungeon" type gym locally. I did. They bill themselves as a "black iron" type of gym, but it's the same deal. Do I hurt some today? Yes, but not in an I wrecked myself kind of way. Tomorrow may be another story. I like this trainer, he knows his stuff, and it will be wonderful to have someone tell me how to do things the right way and not the "I watched a video on Youtube" method I had adopted. So, from finding this site, to going Paleo, to getting into a gym....my life is totally moving in the right direction. Thank you all
  12. This is AWESOME!! You're doing great work.
  13. I have an interest.... need to know more concrete details first though
  14. The results I've seen on people who do Paleo have been amazing. Not just on this site, but in actual people I know. Not going to lie, there are times where I think "My god, I would love to have ___!" but then I think about it, and think how I'd really rather not cheat (yet). Maybe when I drop another 10 pounds.
  15. Still rather stuck on this ear worm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVOUTkFkMNU
  16. That's what it's all about. Having that hard work pay off! Take care of your knees, you're going to want them as you get older. This is something I know well.
  17. I hope you went out and bought some underwear with that! Or at least a couple of drinks
  18. Damaramu, if you showed up to this party in that outfit you just might win a prize! Checked your pics, I've got a good idea as to what that outfit would really look like on you :-)
  19. I am amazed at the things I can do that I was so certain I couldn't. Like not eating cheese, or giving up processed foods (used to love a Smart Ones microwave meal for lunch during the week), or giving up artificial sweetners, or even added sugar. I've been doing the Paleo thing for about a month and a half now. It really isn't that hard, I don't feel deprived, and I love results. I gave my daughter infinite crap about her ex boyfriend's Paleo lifestyle a couple of years ago. Now I ask her why she didn't join him in it.
  20. AmberVon, that is an excellent costume and make-up job! Haikoo, I love yours as well. Damaramu, I am about to go check your battle blog for pics ;-) I got black hose with seems up the back, and high heeled T-Strap shoes last night. I also went by the used book store and picked up "Sex For Dummies" and "The Good Girls Guide To Bad Girl Sex" to carry around with me. I of course got the cute young guy ringing me up and said to him, "Please believe me these are for a Halloween costume. I'm going as a librian!" Since it was 7:30 on Halloween night, I am not totally sure he believed me. lol AlterStephan, we have a 27 yr old teacher here who the kids all think looks like Clark Kent to begin with. I'm going to ask him if he's ever done that as a costume. great idea.
  21. Smaller clothing makes me very happy! Well at least when it fits on me it does. Way to go
  22. I going to a party November 2nd, that is called a Ho'vember party. Halloween/November/release your inner Ho...whatever so sexy librarian is my choice. Need to run by the used book store to grab a book on deviant sexual behavior or the Karma Sutra or something to carry around with me all night.
  23. Stepped on a scale this morning. This is unusual because I normally eye it, sitting there on the cold bathroom floor, as if it might attack me. So today as I was getting in the shower, I stepped right on that metalic monster and .... I saw that I've dropped weight! Sure, I still have about 25lbs to go, but damn! I knew changes were happening because I am wearing clothing that I'd put away for a year or more because it no longer fit. Thank you Paleo, I am sorry for all the crap I said about you a couple of years ago. Now once I start making regular exercise (have been sporadically working the beginner bodyweight program) a part of my life watch out world! :-) So happy to have found this site, so happy to have listened to what Steve was saying, so happy to have everyone here to show me the way.
