  1. To answer the food log challenge. I was a fine dining chef for a number of years so I am pretty decent at estimated amounts but even I still break of the measuring cups on a number of occasions to make sure I am accurate. It may seem silly but it really does help. The website is also really helpful and the phone app is phenomenal. I've even gotten a few co workers in on it
  2. Things are still going close to plan sorry updates arent coming as frequently as they used to but here is the overall situation. A cold snap took my track out of play so I've been running else where as much as i can on treadmills or outside depending on the situation I had a Pt test this week so the training stopped for a bit to get myself rested to obtain what I need overall the results were great. I am currently 10 push ups and 8 situps away from my goals and 1 minute 30 on my run time away. During the course of the challenge there that is an improvement of 6 push ups 5 sit ups and a full minute off my run time. Those improvements my not seem like a lot but they are a big jump for me and I am more than happy with them My tracking with Felicity has fallen a bit to the side but it did give me an idea of what amount of food I should actually be eating and that does help a lot. I am going to strive to track things better and continue to stick the portion sizes I know are correct
  3. So I am apparently a high functioning illiterate because I keep posting in the wrong forum but this is the challenge i will be running for this cycle and I was on track yesterday
  4. Last time on Arrow So this was posted on the last challenge board but I cant read and only started last week or so lets just call that a preview.I was here before and doing really well. I was working hard and getting fit. Then my life caught up with me and I left the one thing slip that I shouldn’t. I got slow and gained weight and weaker. Eventually I felt a little bit like this After gathering a few resources and gaining some new knowledge I’m back and ready to take this thing down. My overall goal for this season is to get down to 200lbs which should get me between 20-25% body fat and get a score of at least a 270 on the Army Physical Fitness Test which requires push-ups,sit-ups, and a 2 mile run. Now this may take a few episodes (6 week challenges) but as long as I keep working I’ll get there. Now on to the challenge Episode 1: A little help from my friends Felicity Smoak Now I’ve used Felicity as part of a challenge before but I don’t think I was really doing it right. I was more focusing on what I could do to be like Felicity as opposed to Felicity helping me. Well now I’ve found a way, I created an account on http://www.sparkpeople.com (username: TheArrow83). If you haven’t heard of the site before here is a little run down. The site/app allows you to track all your nutrients for the food you eat and gives recommendations for each based on your estimated Basal Metabolic Rate. For this portion of the challenge all I have to do is use the App. All that amazing computer science just to make me more awesome. Roy Harper Now this is something new that I’ve added to my Arsenal (like you didn’t see that joke coming). I got a friend looking to work out with me in the gym and work together to figure out how to make the best team possible. For this part of the challenge all we have to do is 2-3 gym days a week depending on how things are that week. Barry Allen Now to get the score I want I have to be fast. Faster than I have ever been in my life. To get there I am going to have to do something I hate…RUN….There is a track near my house and I have done the research to know that the best way to burn fat and increase my run time it to Sprint… Once again this is a 2-3 day a week thing. Well that’s the plan for the first episode. I am going to do my best to complete it. Lets see how it all works out.
  5. Yesterday went really well for day 1. I ran 5 miles combined with 2 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. Evening was a full night in the gym with friends and everything was tracked and organized

  7. So once again I can't read dates and thought this challenge started in February. Let's just call this a preview of the next season and I will be posting this challenge in the newest challenge board possibly with a bonus mission
  8. Another day done and this time there was a whole team of us working at the gym. I think I might actually be getting stronger but I havent really tracked that progress. This challenge has been more about going to the gym as opposed to tracking my strength progress. That will have to be next episode
  9. TheArrow

    Mikroftt 2.0

Going to attempt a Warrior Dash myself in the next few months
  10. Another day done. I ran two miles in 16 minutes (on a treadmill because where I am randomly decided to turn into the ice planet hoth). That's only a minute slower than my fastest time but a minute and 47 seconds away from my goal. I am going to kick it up another level on the next run to see if I can improve. I also knocked out a two for 1 today because I got my side kick out there with me and we lifted after the run. Today is a good day
  11. So my wife and I had a wonderful Staycation ...I left the world behind and just enjoyed myself....I got in a few workouts with my own personal sidekick but other than that I went off track and did what I wanted. Things went well and I am back on track....some times a break helps you refocus. I'm back in it and got a break with my wife that we really needed
  12. Today went really well...Felicity is still on Track and I went on an interval 2 mile run on a trail in the woods. Now as an added bonus...Food Porn: Paleo Buffalo Burger
  13. First Few days going really well...Up to this point Felicity has been working full time and all the collected data is on track. Roy and I went on patrol and my abs are killing me. Coming up tonight...Running
  14. That's an amazing challenge. Survival heros with bad ass bows unite. I will be sure to follow you on this one

  19. today was an amazing day Felicity: didn't make it to the computer class just yet and I am exhausted so that's not likely to happen Tommy: Breakfast was Steak and Eggs with chipotle honey sauce from the pork thing Lunch: Tuna salad with avocado and tomato and a protein shake Dinner: friend invited me out to hit the mall and wanted to grab dinner at some not so great places..Instead we went home and I made this Chicken Marsala with Asparagus Diggle: Spent the whole day moving a ridiculous amount of furniture out of an abandoned barracks. I was so incredibly exhausted I just wanted to go home and pass out...I had my gym bag in the car and stopped by the gym on the way there telling myself I would leave at certain points....I got through my whole hour and busted out 863 calories in that time ....less than 150 away from my phase 1 goal of 1000 calories on the elliptical in under an hour..... I rocked today
  20. So today was a bit tougher but I managed Digg: today was a lazy day at work so not much of the mandatory workout but I did knock out my hundred Felicity: Today was a very computer heavy day. I knocked out 45 minutes of the course getting me to 2 hours 45 minutes left for the week Tommy: This was the hard part. Breakfast was eggs turkey sausage and some hashbrowns (this was the best part of the day. I took some extra sweet potatoes from last night and shredded them then added garlic powder and paprika. They were awesome). Lunch was a big spinach cherry bleu cheese salad with fresh strawberries. Then the ass kicking snack/dinner was two bowls of cereal and some bbq chicken and pineapple meatballs. I know it wasn't a burger and fries but my control of my hunger seemed to get the better of me
  21. Cola Marinaded Pork loin with Lyonnaise Sweet Potatoes, bacon green beans, and a honey Chipotle sauce Welcome to another delicious meal. Ok I know the Marinade isn't Paleo. I am open to suggestions on different suggestions for the same flavor The Veggies Bacon Green Beans: Alright Fresh Green beans tend to scare people so I am here to help Step 1: Grab the beans and pull of then end that was connected to the plant, you don't have to cut both off the other end is fine Step 2: Just like the asparagus yesterday they get thrown in boiling water then shocked in ice once they look green and wonderful Step 3: slowly cook some bacon pieces so the fat slowly comes out and you can use it to cook the beans later Step 4: throw in the green beans once the bacon is cooked and add salt and pepper Lyonnaise Sweet potatoes: So This is a twist on a savory potato dish that is absolutely amazing Step 1: Slice the potatoes and throw them in boiling water Step 2: This part is the tough part heat up some oil, put the potatoes in and DON'T TOUCH THEM Step 3: eventually the potatoes will develop an awesome color (be careful that black is not that awesome color) on one side and add the onions By the time the other side gets to be that awesome color the onions should look like this The Sauce Paleo Honey Chipotle sauce Step 1: I blended some garlic and cooked it with some coconut oil before I added coconut almond milk and some chipotles Step 2: I let that cook for a bit before I blended it all together Step 3: I strained the blended stuff through a strainer Step 4: I added honey to that last bit and let it cool The Meat So this is the non Paleo part Step 1: I marinated thinly sliced pork loin in a container filled with cola Step 2: I got my grill pan incredibly hot then added the pork. Once it looked like this i flipped it over and turned off the heat So that's it. If anyone has any questions or recommendations or even request for me to make something go right a head and comment
  22. Cola Marinaded Pork loin with Lyonnaise Sweet Potatoes, bacon green beans, and a honey Chipotle sauce

Lunch: tuna salad with tomatoes and basil and a bowl of raisin nut bran cereal Snack: protein shake at the gym (not so good so not doing it again) and of course what people are here for Dinner: Cola Marinaded Pork loin with Lyonnaise Sweet Potatoes, bacon green beans, and a honey Chipotle sauce recipe will be up on the food blog
