  1. So some unsuspecting things happened at work that made me stay later, due to the safety of another co-worker and a really bothersome guest. the guest was drunk for 3 days straight and it was really sad how lonely he was throwing money at everyone for the simplest tasks and or just to talk to him. it didn't help either when the new person i'm training has trouble with their verbiage and way of speaking. best way to explain is she speaks like a stereo typical teenage girl. many other guest weren't happy with it so i had a very stressful day on the 24th. Hence why i'm fine that i wasn't able to the goals i wanted,i just did whatever i could to de-stress. i ended up going to bed by 2:30am and woke up an hour before i had to go to work today. on the brighter side of things today went way more smoothly than i'd expected, even though it was 103 Reservations checking in, i had a fun time and made many people happy! Here are some new words! Indignant: Anger at something that is unfair or wrong:very angry. Technocratic: Scientist or expert who has much power in politics. Exorbitant: Going beyond what is fair, reasonable, or expected. Refutation: To prove that something is not True.| "The type of personal responsibility that is needed to be good in the clutch is different. It is always there, but under pressure it becomes purely focused and is the underlying force in the action: I am doing this because it is the right thing to do, and if i fail, i know i tried. Responsibility here is not an accounting for your actions; it is your actions. And however it turned out, you are the one who did it. you are in your office working on the deal; you are not letting someone else iron out the the details." -Clutch by Paul Sullivan I'd thought i'd post a quote i got from reading that really stood out for me.
  2. I'm glad i'm starting this back up again! I'm already feeling better! A lot more interesting that just sitting around wondering what to do or just playing video games all day. i'm still learning how to use the spreadsheet so it'll be changing quite a few times, but i'm having fun with it! and don't worry i haven't stopped with the new words I've been learning, i'll be posting that tonight. Woo!
  3. Okay, so here is my new plan! I want to to be active daily on a day to day basis instead of sitting around all day playing video games and twiddling my thumbs being bored. so I made up a spread sheet in google that would help me keep track of what i have been doing/not doing. Here's the Link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aqa4ZrmnljeAdFFnUmd4RkVKN0djU0JBcVZVek9XakE&usp=sharing i'll be updating that Spreadsheet daily and updating here on how things have been going every few days. with doing more task I'm for sure my mood will improve along with my self esteem. I may be back at the beginning again, but i will be fighting my way back up.
  4. I have returned, sadly I took a step back, and I'm back at the beginning. I need to take things a bit slower and realize that it can't all be perfect. so what i'm thinking this time is having a list of of possible things i can do for the day and do 3 out of the 6. depending on the day and how things are going. i'll be back in the morning with an update!
  5. Okay i i haven't really had much time is the past few days to update it but i have still been keeping track of everything. the 17th ran 30 minutes (absolutely love running!)read 30juggled 30drew 15Work was crazy with only a small break and nothing much to eat, but all the guest were understanding and everything went quite well. I also almost got an hour of overtime that day. the 18th went on a run to the light house with lots of hills, 30 minread 30 juggled 30did not draw, Frustrated, no excuse could of should of would of. planning on drawing for at least 30 minutes the 19thWork today as well was crazy, full house. Today 19th read 30 minran around the neighborhood 30 minjuggled 15 min will do another 15 when i get home from workwill draw when i get home.today so far feels difficult, work won't be as crazy today though, i also have the next 2 days off and i'm planning on having a mini tutorial project to help me work on 3d modeling. and here is the list of words I've learned from today and the past 2 days. Philanthropic: receiving funds set aside for humanitarian purposesRapacious: Always want more money/possessions (so basically greedy)Myopic: Near sighted. (i'm guessing that's the scientific word for near sighted)Unequivocal: Very strong and clear.Allotted: to assign as a share or portionWry: to pull out of or as if out of proper shape.Invariably: on every occasion/alwaysi'll be around more during Monday Tuesday to explain more. good luck everyone!

      Including you! Yes, you!

  7. Hello all! I'm new to the group and this whole nerd fitness thing. Right now i'm just keeping a battle log of daily tasks I want to make a good habit of. i'm starting out slow because i don't want to ease into everything and not overload myself with too high of expectations from the start. I will defiantly start out in the next 6 week challenge though with more specific workouts and goals. (Mainly cross country/Distance running workouts!) this group looks very positive and helpful and i'm excited for the future in becoming a Fit Nerd alongside you all! and thank you once again Will for showing me this group!
  8. Thank you all for the positive support and feedback! it's really appreciated! i'm defiantly going to check out that group and introduce myself. and the book i'm getting those words from is "Clutch" by Paul Sullivan " The ultimate guide to understanding high achievement and to stepping up your own game."
  9. Your doing great will! i want to thank you once again for getting me active! Your so flipping buff, but you usually hide behind coats and long sleeved shirts! show off some of your manliness! nah i'm fooling but you are doing great! and what's wrong with doing pull ups and chin ups in the dark? show those weird people in the night your not afraid! (don't take my advice!) Keep up the good work!
  10. So far so good. it's a great first day. i did all that i wanted to do, for the first day. Now lets see if i can keep it up for a second day. one Step at a time. Read for 30 minutes, it was a quite morning, and after my delicious breakfast of cinnamon oatmeal with bananas my energy got a great boost. Biked for 30 minutes, crazy drivers out there, my thighs hurt, but it was fun in the wind. After stretching, i juggled for 30 minutes for a cool down and minor upper body workout, but mainly for the dexterity i want to get from it.After my shower, i got out the drawing pad and just drew what was on my desk for 15 minutes. my wrist hurts nowthe words i learned from reading was, and in the best way i could describe it in my own words. Avuncularly: Relating to an uncle (adverb) "i would have never guessed what that word would have meant."Rapport: a friendly relationship.Juxtapose: Comparing two or more things together to show either they are different or the sameUnflappable: Not easily upset.so far what i got from a family member is "how long is this going to last?" I want to prove them wrong and make this a daily routine! I have my lunch packed, i took my vitamins, and i'm ready for work. my goal there (as well as home of course) is to avoid all the tasty treats guests and co-workers bring. i want to reduce my sugar intake to fruits and juices and stay away from all candy/sodas. Wish me luck, but it's good to know i'm on a good path.
  11. There's many things i want to work on and improve to help me become better as a person. I always feel like i start something great that'll help me but i quickly go into a rut with simple excuses. "it's raining outside, it's been a long day at work, this is taking too long." there's several possibilities on why i'm doing this and i want it to end now. after my oldest brother already getting back into shape, one of my mangers challenging me a race in march, and a friend that lives a state away from me that got me started into nerd fitness, i don't want to disappoint them. So this will be my start to becoming the person i want to be and become. 30 minutes of jogging/biking 6 days a week. 30 minutes of reading everyday and writing down all the words i don't understand so i can look them up learn. 30 minutes of juggling a day 15-30 minutes of drawing or 3d modeling everyday No candy at all, unless i's a day i donate blood. This seems a lot to start out with but i'll do this all before i go to work to get me awake and my mind active. i plan on waking up (8 hours of sleep no more no less) at 8:30 am and starting out with a bowel of oatmeal (with bananas and cinnamon) to eat, 5-10 minutes to make. then i will read for the 30 mins, to slowly wake up. then i will go on my run/bike ride. after that is done i will cool down with juggling, take a shower and go work on a drawing or a 3d modeling tutorial. after all that is day i will jot down notes on how i felt it went, make some tuna sandwiches for work and relax with video games until i have to go to work. now i work from 2pm to 10pm. when i get home i plan on reading my notes, and post what i have done on this log. i want to be more active in my life, not just sit around working and waiting for a paycheck. one thing i don't know what to do is when i don't do any one of these task, how do i punish myself without hurting myself that will motivate me to not do that again?
  12. Another method you could use with running with your pal is to let them go their own comfortable pace while you run ahead, but after a set amount of time and or distance, turn back let your buddy catch up with you. Maybe give them a high five every now and then and some motivation and then repeat running ahead and back for however long the run is. Your buddy is able to run with you, and you still get to get your own workout. I had a couple of friends do this with me and it was rather fun. Everyone has their own methods, find one that best suites you and your friend.
