  1. Good morning everyone Sorry for falling off the world last week...I had a sick / bleugh type week, but I still managed to do some stuff so here is a summary! Body pump x1 bodyweight + kettlebells x 2 freeweights / stronglifts x1 gymnastics didn't happen no shoes got sorted...but I did stop myself buying more on ebay...that is a step forward right? hope everyone is doing ok
  2. Week 3 overview :-) Hello all week three was pretty good :-) I am still loving this challenge! Strength training...1 x body pump, 1x very strength oriented PT, 1x body weight exercises evening, 1 x gym free weights session. Stronglifts only once Gymnastics...total chicken cop out...my friends couldn't come and i didn't want to go on my own (which I am aware is a rubbish excuse) so I went to the gym and lifted stuff up instead. Shoes...ahem..the less said about that the better...but at least I didn't buy any more...
  3. hehehe I lived near Grimsby for a while it was the wrong side of the humber all together
  4. Hello Fellow UKians I am from Yorkshire originally (well Humberside actually but lets not get started on that one...) but now live in Horsham West Sussex I'm happy to help, and also in need of an occasional kick... (I hope I am not too late to the party) :-D
  5. Possibly a separate closet...maybe a separate room...
  6. The Dr Who Game and Lego LOTR...why did I have to discover those!! well done on cutting down on screentime even if it is only a bit :-D Keep up the good work :-D
  7. the charity thing is a very good idea this weekend has to be a clear out weekend...some have to go!
  8. yep! a guy at my gym was walking around the Free weights area on his phone on a hands free kit and gave me a funny look when I glared at him...I don't want to hear your evening plans / arguments./ That coupled with the trio of very chatty boys doing every thing together and talking a lot in between...made my gym a challenging place the other day... this was not the right kind of challenging!! good on you for doing so well though, you seem to be making good progress :-D
  9. Thursdays are tricky...but not as bad as Tuesdays!!
  10. Good afternoon :-) I think this challenge is going fairly well :-) My challenge was to add more strength training into my regime including stronglifts and gymnastics classes, I have done all of those each week and I seem to be seeing improvement. The main thing this challenge has done is forced me to focus my efforts. I am in the middle (well 5 months in) of a 365 project where I have to exercise minimum 30 mins every day and up until I started this challenge I was flitting about between different types of exercises. I survived Thanksgiving by being British...which meant all I actually had to survive was a Thursday...
  11. Week 3 update Week 3 went pretty well... Strength training: 1x body pump 2 x gym freeweight sessions 1x PT 1 x bodyweight circuit 1x gymnastics Stronglifts x2 (woohoo) Gymnastics class attended :-D the shoe challenge is really not going well though...I sent the pair I sold on ebay, but that is all I have done with it...must do better in week 4!
  12. Adults gymnastics is more or less the same as kids gymnastics, only with a load of adults of various levels of flexibility! we have mainly been doing forward rolls, backward rolls, cartwheels and handstands...all of which take a lot more strength than I thought I had as a child! I think we will do more floor exercises, and apperatus stuff too :-) The class is open to all abilities which is nice, and all ages over 18 which means that an adult beginner doesn't have to learn with a load of tiny children! So far it is lots of fun, but soooo tiring! and I ache a whole lot more than when I do strength at the gym!
  13. it happened to me yesterday, I was at a gymnastics class (2nd class since I was 12) doing the same things I was doing last week (cartwheels mainly) and 3/4 of the way through the class my legs started shaking and basically gave up the ghost! I think it is because I didn't eat properly before I went, I didn't want to be too full and didn't have much time so I ate stuff that was too fast acting and I think it got used up too quickly and I just ran out of energy. Btw keep up the good work ou your challenge, it seems to be going really well :-D
  14. Wow, you sound like you are doing really well :-) Managing all that while studying full time is a tall order so well done :-D when I was at uni, I was nothing like as dedicated as all that! Parkour sounds amazing! and learning it in a gymnastics gym sounds very sensible...less chance of face planting concrete! I have just (re)taken up gymnastics and that hurts but is awesome, but I think parkour is beyond me :-) hope things keep going well, you sound very organised :-)
  15. Arrrgh! Gymnastics is hard! I had my 2nd class last night, and I don't think I was as good as I was in my first class...but I can still do cartwheels :-D Hard...but still Awesome :-D
