  1. Even though the topic is a little old, a hello from Eindhoven here. Anyone in for a meet any time soon? For me it is mostly body weight exercises and running. But exchanging info or just hanging out is good too.
  2. So I just read the Strength Training 101 post and almost at the end it said you should take a notebook to the gym to track your progress. I have done a fitness training at the gym and tried to workout by myself a few times but I noticed I get bored easy when I don't track my progress. I already have a excel sheet with all my data but I can't remember what weights I used and how many reps I did. So I did try putting it in my phone but I couldn't get in there easily and clear. But here is the problem. I already have a bottle of water and a towel with me and I don't like luring around that much stuff when I am working out. So I found didn't like the idea of taking a notebook (and I kind of feel like a dork with a notebook and pen jotting down stuff, not that it is bad I just felt watched ). So how do you track your progress while going to the gym?
  3. I kind have kind of fallen off the wagon. But I am jumping on again today. The very strict plan isn't working for me because I don't have the discipline (yet) and my physical therapist said I shouldn't put too much strain on my neck/shoulders. Not sure if I am allowed to but I am making a little change. -I will run at least once a week -I will (very carefully) do the beginner weight workout every other day when I wake up. On the bad head days I will still do the workout minus the push ups(which I really want to to more because I really suck at them but you can't have everything) The eating in front of the computer is almost zero nowadays. I find myself eating junk once a week but when I do I can stop easier. I also find that if I eliminate the trigger of having food close to the computer really helps! And beside that I am planning to walk to mordor with my friend Hunthis. I am wearing my pokewalker every day which motivates me a lot! I hope this week will go better again.
  4. It sounds like you have a good plan! I love the way you wrote this piece. Hope you can conquer the Dragon. Living with pain is not easy but I like the motivation to not it slow you down I was thinking of joining the rangers after this challenge so: Good luck fellow aspirant ranger
  5. I am also trying to run 5k (had my first couch to 5K yesterday) and I was wondering what you use to count steps?
  6. Hello fellow starters, Main Quest Run half a marathon again but let's start with 5K Side quests Run the first 6 weeks from the couch to 5k program. So run 3 times a week On the no-running days do the NF beginner weight work out. At least 2 reps. No more junk/binge eating in front of the computer!Life quest Because of my chronic headache I cannot go to school at the moment. So my quest will be to complete my newly received school project successfully. No more laziness and procrastinating! Motivations Because of above mentioned headache I stopped running (I ran 18 km two to three times a week), going to school, gained weight and made me feel miserable. But no more self pity and moping around. I can not fix my headache and it will sometimes interfere with my plans but it won't be an excuse anymore. I want to be able to run again and feel good in my own skin. I will become strong, fit and take my life in my own hands again.
  7. Hello fellow nerds, I am a 21 year old girl from the Netherlands. I study TI but had to take a break because of chronic headache. I used to run about 15 km 3 times a week but had to stop because of a number of reasons (including the headache). So after a while of giving my body rest I am ready to get healthy and fit again! My goal is to become stronger, regaining my physical and mental condition and cut out some bad snacking habits while living on a student budget. And if possible run half a marathon. I hope to have a lot of fun on the way to my "level 50" and meet some fellow fitness geeks
