  1. Yay for food! I feel you on the getting frustrated with handstands. That's why I changed them up a bit, they were becoming a wee bit less about the fun and just becoming more frustrating.
  2. Nice! Good day one! That's awesome that you're cleared to do stuff again! Interested to see how your stuffed acorn squash turns out!
  3. Week 1, Day 1 So day one didn't go as well as I'd have liked. His beard is sad, so he is sad First, I worked very late and got up early all weekend, which has led to me being sick the past couple days. As a consequence, I took a rest day, because working out at 90% healthy could get you more sick (will probably switch some of my workouts around this week to make up for it though). Thus, I didn't do any pull ups or handstand push ups. I'm feeling a lot better this morning though, so the rest was effective. Additionally, we had a candidate in for one of our open positions (he was really awesome btw) and I volunteered to take him to the airport so he could get home (I know the area). The good part of this was that I got to know him a little better than we might otherwise have in an interview setting (basically, it confirmed his awesomeness) but the bad part was that he wanted to go to a pizza place for food. While it was a very good pizza place, it was too good and I overshot my goal by a wee bit (okay more than a wee bit). I have a planned out reward day for this Friday, so day one's food goal was a miss. Also, I didn't get home until about 10:30PM, so I just went right to bed with no piano practice. Ultimately, most of this is salvageable and could have been worse (feeling better today is good after all), but it was kind of a bummer for the first day (also, I used an excess of parenthetical afterthoughts today). Totals: Beard ups - 0/18 Om nom nom - 0/30 Spicing up handstands - 0/18 Life quest - 0/30
  4. Indeed! Thanks! *laughing beardily* Mwahahahahahaha! Yay awesome beards! If I'm ever able to grow mine out longer I'm definitely braiding it at least once! Ah yes! Having a beard equipped grants a +3 resistance to cold damage and +4 bonus to Wis or Cha, whichever is higher. Additional properties include a +1 bonus per inch in length to Intimidate skill checks (this bonus stacks) and +1 Def. Oh my... my first thought is blasphemy!!! But upon gathering my wits I see an opportunity to give beards to the beardless... I wonder... *strokes beard in thought*
  5. Nope. Here is a beard pic from a few years ago that's pretty representative of where it is at the moment. It transitions from a dark brown to a mid color one. And in the summer, my Irish roots come out in my beard because it turns an auburn/red/orange color

  7. Nice! I like your labeling of the lunges. I've been confused on how to do them in my log. I might steal that!
  8. Eek! I hope your day gets better!!! All these corgis are rooting for you!
  9. Good work with the workout! Jealous of the canoeing too! I've got a canoe trip planned this summer, but it's not until the first week of July.
  10. Nice going with the random competition! 30 minutes is a looong time to be moving kettlebells around!
  11. Since you've still got pokemon going (and since math is fun) I thought I'd post this
  12. Another happy birthday belated! This. I'm a huge advocate of resting. Way too many people try to over do it when they should be taking a step back. Better to take a bit of time off than get injured or sick and miss even more.
  13. Thanks everyone I'll keep up the posts every now and again as things keep going!
  14. Here we are with Week 1, Day 1!!! Ready to rock it! Brian Wilson... Beard beard beard beard beard beard beard...
  15. I used to have a bushy-ish beard, but for work now I have to keep it mildly short if I want to keep it at all. Still awesome, just very well groomed. Beard up = pull up with a beard, indeed I solemnly swear by beards everywhere that I shall never become The Moustache. I would miss my beard too much. Haha... note to self... limit beard bowl searches... Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! My beard weeps for you! One of the best parts about it is strokeability. Much of my body language consists of a well timed beard stroke!
  16. Thanks Kyley! Here's another update from yesterday! Still about 193 pounds, but my muscle measurements have gone up and my waist size has gone down.
  17. A body fat percentage main goal (like me!)! Looking forward to your progress!
  18. This all looks awesome! Welcome to the rebellion!
  19. That food looks so yummy! And welcome to the boyfriend! Yay!
  20. Also, I just figured out that KB Girl and Mirrodin are a couple. Sorry KB Girl I must promote the ideas of the world beard council (because that's totally a thing, at least I really want it to be ) if I'm ever to become an elder! I'll try not to be a bad influence*... but I am the Beard after all! *The Beard is not responsible for any sudden attempts at beard growth in boyfriends
  21. Mwahahahaha!!! I'm for the propagation of beards everywhere! Yes, as long as people ask I'm more than willing to let them stroke my beard I know what it feels like (amazing), so I want other people to experience it!
  22. I'm here to entertain (at least as far as beards are concerned)! Yay! Actually, on a related note... as part of the upkeep of my beard I have a product (I can't remember what brand at the moment, I'm at work) that I use that is meant to make hair less coarse. The main thing I use it for is for when after I use my electric trimmer. The ends can get very coarse and the product softens it up a bit. Added side effect: my beard gets damn soft. Like I-can't-stop-touching-it soft. Back last year there was this lady I was seeing, and while I was using this product she had no problems with the whole kissing thing (I made sure to check; no tickle, no scratching, just softness!)
