  1. For some reason I'm getting a sense of deja vu from your latest post, Seven...
  2. Good job on the lifting, but oy. I'm sorry you're feeling grumpy. I hope it goes away soon! And this GB needs to read about excessive inbreeding in 'pure' dog breeds. You can't rewrite a genetic code with food!
  3. Not sure if joking or not...But just in case.
  4. I totally understand that! I get up early to run too. It's nicer when there is no traffic. How do you calculate pace?
  5. Wednesday, July 20th Total distance: 3 km Distance run: 2 km Calories: on target Stretching: done Well, that was interesting today. I went for a slower but steadier pace, and I was able to run a lot longer. Also, it's not the lungs or ticker that gave out this time: it was the muscles. I was feeling it by the end, and I definitely felt it while stretching. I still don't have shin splints, although I did feel a tiny little twinge there a moment ago, but it was gone as soon as it came. What gets sore are the leg and back muscles, so I'll take that to mean my running technique is good. My feet feel fine, my joints feel fine, my lungs are mostly fine. I still have some gunk to cough up, but I am an ex-smoker so that's to be expected. I'll shoot for 4.5 km total tomorrow and 2.5 to 3.5 running distance. I am surprised at how well this is going actually.
  6. Much better, thank you! I am still coughing up some phlegm, but my lungs don't hurt and I can breathe fine. Also it doesn't hurt when I cough, so I know there is no inflammation. I have to be careful not to run full tilt. It's very easy and tempting to do for some reason, but of course it kills me in 30 seconds. I'll try to pace myself better tomorrow, but I find I enjoy running like this. I have DOMS in my calves, thighs and lower back muscles though. No shin splints though, which is awesome. I felt my core engage when I was running fast, like my abs were clenching. It's a pretty amazing feeling. I never would have thought that running would be attractive to me. I might try parkour later. When I can run a 5k without dying.
  7. You're doing great! Keep it up!
  8. Eee, a pokemon trainer! Did you catch any yet? Which ones?
  9. Excellent work so far! That's a lot of mileage! I'm impressed.
  10. You're doing pretty good so far. Is your kid feeling better? Keep it up!
  11. Hey, Queen Coffee! Good on you for trying crossfit! I couldn't do it myself because it involves socialising, which is just ugh to me, but I'm glad you enjoyed it. Keep it up! You're doing great!
  12. You're doing great! I'm sure you'll be able to improve your LG score in no time. Maybe you were tired and that's why you didn't do as well as you expected? That spreadsheet is awesome! Keep it up!
  13. It's good that you met your water goal! Oh well, there are plenty of days left in this challenge to catch up on your exercise schedule!
  14. I did that too, bring my lunch but go for fast food anyway. It's like your brain is telling 'but that is so much tastier!' That's why I like spicy foods. Or pork chops in tomato sauce. With cheese. *drool* Try to make a dish that you really, really like for lunch. That helps escape temptation. Hang in there!
  15. You're doing great, Erick! Meal planning is the key to success! Keep it up!
  16. Good luck with the goals, Tyria! Psst! It's bonne chance.
  17. Hey, Hydran! Good luck with the goals! How are yo doing so far?
  18. Better to adjust than to quit! How is it going so far?
  19. Tuesday, July 19th Total distance: 3 km Distance run: 1 km Calories: on target Stretching: after I shower. Much better today! I will increase distance tomorrow.
  20. I get the feeling that would just cause you to slump more. A neck corset should do the trick though.
  21. I'm sorry you're going through all that. I hope it gets better soon. Have a silly baby elephant to cheer you up.
  22. Monday July 18th Ok, so it turns out that trying to run when you are recovering from a cold is a bad idea. I got out of breath really quickly and I felt exhausted after less than 2 km, compared to my last attempt where I was able to run intervals over 7.3 km. So I know it's the cold acting. Oh man, so little effort and I'm sweating a fountain. I'll try again tomorrow, but instead of going to work that way, I'll stick to running circuits in my neighborhood.
  23. Ok, official start of the challenge! I weighed myself this morning to keep track over the challenge. So, starting weight: 191.4 pounds. Let's see how much I lose over this month with my current plan.
