  1. So I know that weight loss is not one of my goals for this challenge, but I weighed today and I have put on 6 pounds. This defies my logic because I get at least an hour of excercise every day now, and i have reduced my calorie intake to around 1400-1500 per day. (My Base Metabolic Rate for a guy of my size is 1800) The pounds should be flying off. What gives?
  2. Hey thanks, i tried that. It pushed me pretty hard. I did 240 Parkour rolls today as well. I think i've used up all the "get up" i've been given for the day. I may just sleep on the couch because the thought of moving to the bed seems too tireing... but thats good.
  3. Still going pretty well. I have missed a day of work out. Its ok, still on track as far as establishing a routine. But I was hoping to earn them attribute points! I also have a finsished draft of my business plan. I need to time myself the next time i run to see where I am, so far I have just been running for set durations. I think i may want to work some sprint training into my runs as well. Any suggestions on the best way that can be accomplished?
  4. Hey, I find myself slackin as far as checking the forum goes. Luckily, that was not one of my evaluation criteria! lol. Also fortunately, while slacking on posting, i have not been doing so on my work outs! I decided to start the program up at Crash course into parkour to supplement my workouts and has been giving me a daily routine to follow for my improvement and skill building. I am pretty sure since the program is proprietary, i cant really outline the work outs. The stomach bug eventually did pass. Which i am very grateful for. I bottled last Thursday, it did not turn out the way i thought it would. I was trying for a pils, but i over hopped it. It tastes similar to a lighter IPA. Which is fine for me, i like my beer hoppy. I have taken that into account and will be trying again tomorrow or Wednesday. I am also looking to transition from extract brews to all grain. I am going to try an english ale as soon as i fashion myself a lauder tun. I have started my Business plan, and have started gathering data to present to investors.
  5. Ugh, so it's a stomach bug. It's still kickin. Taking it easy, so I walked for an hour, and did some fechtbuch research instead of a run and drills. I have my first lager going right now, so I will let people know how the results are when it is done. Hopefully its good. If not, it's a lesson.

  7. Fantastic. my wife was in vet science. Working as a vet tech right now. She is glad she is not a vet and does not have to budget a whole clinic herself. Just something to think about. Not trying to talk you out of being a vet. I don't know if you budget yourself a piece of chocolate per day, but a piece of dark chocolate can do wonders to kill that craving for cake and caffeine that you ay have.
  8. I hope you got yourself into your workout today! Caffeine makes you work harder than you need to.
  9. I can only echo the footwork thing previously stated. From a HEMA perspective, the only thing that does not move on a battlefield is a dead man. Footwork is the most important thing you can do. Remember, you are never as deep as you think you are. Squat deeper.
  10. My father and i are home brewers that have decided its time to take it larger. We are refining our recipes and are writing up our business plan. My local county has recently gone from dry to wet and there are no breweries or brew pubs for 100 miles. Literally. So we are going to take advantage of the vacancy. We love our beer and hope others love it as well. From what we have heard from the locals is that we are ready for a local brew house. Today's work out was just as 26.23 run. I did 3 miles. While i was running I discovered that I was having stomach issues. I decided to not do a follow up with martial training today and did not want to stress the dams. I am not sure if I should count this as a day missed or not.
  11. I should probably bring some HEMA info to the monks knowledge base.
  12. yea, I did 3 sets, and that was the number of reps per set. Firstly, the heavy bag was an analogy so people would know why I use a pell. A pell is a stationary post for hitting with a sword. We hit them for the same reason a boxer hit the heavy bag. Speed, strength and getting the experience of hitting something instead of just swinging at the air when you don't have a partner around. We also make use of the heavy bag despite our being "swordsmen". HEMA has a complete unarmed combatives system called "ringen" in the German tradition and "Abrizare" in the Italian. So, we make use of striking, throwing, ground fighting and all other categories of combat with and without our weapons.
