  1. I did Slim For Life for about 6 months and it was one of the best programs I have ever done. I lost 30lbs and have kept 20 of them off completely. The only thing is it is outrageously expensive. but there were a couple of things that I took from it and still do. The one thing I did learn from it was that we really should eat a lot more than we do a day (just a lot more of the right stuff). My problem is I get the why of it but not the how. I get overwhelmed by all the planning and scheduling that I eventually give up. And then there is the boredom. This week I ate Spinach quiche everyday for breakfast. It was easy and premade for my crazy schedule but now I am bored so next week I am kind of screwed for breakfast unless I can find something else that works. Sorry I just realized I am kind of rambling hehe I hope you are doing well this week
  2. The gym thing is hard. I have been paying for a membership forever even though I don't use it as much as I should. The hardest part is getting there though cause I really like the classes. I carry a shaker container of water with me everywhere. sometimes it is hard to drink enough at work though since I am constantly moving around.
  3. I try and eat eggs for breakfast-This last week I made quiche and ate that all week but I get tired of making and eating eggs everyday. What other protein do you eat in the am?
  4. Which yogurt do you use? I have been so confusd in the past on one that is "good" for me. I found a really delicious single serving size nut combo from planters that is tasty and has dried apples in it as well but sometimes I am worried that I eat too many nuts.
  5. OK not my official final score but Doing really good using the fitbit.... I think it goes back to an earlier post maybe from Cavemom(not sure)... It makes me realize that even when I feel like I am doing nothing that I am still getting some steps in. I like looking at the Dashboard and seeing where I am for the day and it is a little motivating when I don't have to work and I notice that I have only walked 1,000 steps that I need to get my butt off my computer chair and go do something. If anyone else is using fitbit and wants to be a part of my group let me know It is also fun when the little vibrating flashy lights go off when I hit my goal.(I have a Fitbit Flex) Last night it happened as mom and I were walking back to the car from the George Strait concert. I took four classes at the gym this week. zumba, Body Pump, CRX and Yoga. It was a good combination of classes. The weight train killed me though. I was at work wiping down the bar that night and I could barely hold my arm up. I started wondering what the heck? then remembered I took the class. Taking yoga two days later helped with the pain in my quads too.Crazy Nut and I went on a long hike yesterday and if I can get my butt outta this chair we are going to tackle another part of the greenbelt today for our third activity of the week. The only thing I am not doing so well at is the seewts thing. since I am hungrierI tend to turn to sweets as "comfort" food. Thanks for the suggestions as well for the eating more!I will try some of these ideas this next week. ok that's it for now. Hope everyone is doing well!!!
  6. It is Wed and I have managed to drag my butt through the cold twice now to the gym and I have taken 3 classes(one of which included my weight training for the week). Crazy Nut and I went for a walk in the neighborhood with zombies hot on our heals. I have kept sweets to a minimum and have been doing ok with fruits and veggies. I have one poblem that seems to plaque me when I try to eat right and exercise-----I am always freaking hungry now. I try to eat stuff that is better for me but since I have upped the exercise I just want to eat something! Not sure if there is a fix for this but I have a hard enough time eating right to begin with. Half way through the week almost there -Kiera Moonfire Browncoats
  7. Sounds like you are doing really great! Keep up the good work. I found that keeping a shaker bottle filled with ice water with me at all times helps a lot too. The rubber band idea is a pretty good one. I am glad you are taking time for yourself. Just from your posts already it seems you are incredibly busy. I had a fitbit-the small one but accidentally washed it with my bra. So I recently purchased the Fitbit Flex which I love. Like you said, even if I feel like I have done nothing all day I can look at my progress and know that I actually did do something.Mine buzzes and flashes at me when I make my daily goal which is kind of funny cause that normally happens when I am running around at the resturant on the floor. the first time it happened I almost dropped my tray. You have a fabulous day and if you keep cleaning in baby steps your holiday clutter will be gone in no time -Kiera Moonfire Browncoats
  8. Hey Twibble, looks like you are off to a great start. I would say just be careful having the same thing for lunch everyday. I know for me when I get bored with eating the same foods over again, that is when I head straight out to what I consider "healthy fast food" (which isn't very healthy). Maybe try mixing it up with leftovers or crock pot stuff like other people have mentioned. Great job planning ahead. That tends to be one of the hardest things for me since my schedule is all over the place. -Kiera Moonfire Browncoats
  9. A new haircut or look is always a fantastic way to start a new challenge and yours looks great! I too have been working too hard and forgeting about the important people in my life. My resolution was just to Do more this year. More with friends and family, more with my griffin pup, more to make me happy. It is all about the quality and not the quantity. I am sure you will do great this challenge
  10. Have you posted your new challenge yet? I kind of lost it on the last one too. But together we can make this new challenge really great! So get off your computer and go do something right now -Kiera Moonfire Browncoat

  15. Challenge finish......Well the last two weeks haqve been busy but I guess that is how every week seems to have gone. I pretty much stopped doing all of my mini goals this last week and I ate a lot of xmas cookies that I made as gifts.(They are hard to resist) So as far as the contest goes I don't think I will be leveling up this time. Some good things did come out of it though. 1) I learned that if I could just stick to it I really could see results. 2) I need to find more time in my life for me 3)Although I did not meet my goals I still lost 5.6lbs and 3 inches 4)I actually am posting today which I could have just blown off since I didn't actually complete my mission. 5)I am ready to start another mission. So all and all it was a good expereince that I have learnded from and will continue to try and accomplish again.
