  1. I did Slim For Life for about 6 months and it was one of the best programs I have ever done. I lost 30lbs and have kept 20 of them off completely. The only thing is it is outrageously expensive. but there were a couple of things that I took from it and still do. The one thing I did learn from it was that we really should eat a lot more than we do a day (just a lot more of the right stuff). My problem is I get the why of it but not the how. I get overwhelmed by all the planning and scheduling that I eventually give up. And then there is the boredom. This week I ate Spinach quiche everyday for breakfast. It was easy and premade for my crazy schedule but now I am bored so next week I am kind of screwed for breakfast unless I can find something else that works. Sorry I just realized I am kind of rambling hehe I hope you are doing well this week
  2. The gym thing is hard. I have been paying for a membership forever even though I don't use it as much as I should. The hardest part is getting there though cause I really like the classes. I carry a shaker container of water with me everywhere. sometimes it is hard to drink enough at work though since I am constantly moving around.
  3. I try and eat eggs for breakfast-This last week I made quiche and ate that all week but I get tired of making and eating eggs everyday. What other protein do you eat in the am?
  4. Which yogurt do you use? I have been so confusd in the past on one that is "good" for me. I found a really delicious single serving size nut combo from planters that is tasty and has dried apples in it as well but sometimes I am worried that I eat too many nuts.
  5. OK not my official final score but Doing really good using the fitbit.... I think it goes back to an earlier post maybe from Cavemom(not sure)... It makes me realize that even when I feel like I am doing nothing that I am still getting some steps in. I like looking at the Dashboard and seeing where I am for the day and it is a little motivating when I don't have to work and I notice that I have only walked 1,000 steps that I need to get my butt off my computer chair and go do something. If anyone else is using fitbit and wants to be a part of my group let me know It is also fun when the little vibrating flashy lights go off when I hit my goal.(I have a Fitbit Flex) Last night it happened as mom and I were walking back to the car from the George Strait concert. I took four classes at the gym this week. zumba, Body Pump, CRX and Yoga. It was a good combination of classes. The weight train killed me though. I was at work wiping down the bar that night and I could barely hold my arm up. I started wondering what the heck? then remembered I took the class. Taking yoga two days later helped with the pain in my quads too.Crazy Nut and I went on a long hike yesterday and if I can get my butt outta this chair we are going to tackle another part of the greenbelt today for our third activity of the week. The only thing I am not doing so well at is the seewts thing. since I am hungrierI tend to turn to sweets as "comfort" food. Thanks for the suggestions as well for the eating more!I will try some of these ideas this next week. ok that's it for now. Hope everyone is doing well!!!
  6. It is Wed and I have managed to drag my butt through the cold twice now to the gym and I have taken 3 classes(one of which included my weight training for the week). Crazy Nut and I went for a walk in the neighborhood with zombies hot on our heals. I have kept sweets to a minimum and have been doing ok with fruits and veggies. I have one poblem that seems to plaque me when I try to eat right and exercise-----I am always freaking hungry now. I try to eat stuff that is better for me but since I have upped the exercise I just want to eat something! Not sure if there is a fix for this but I have a hard enough time eating right to begin with. Half way through the week almost there -Kiera Moonfire Browncoats
  7. Sounds like you are doing really great! Keep up the good work. I found that keeping a shaker bottle filled with ice water with me at all times helps a lot too. The rubber band idea is a pretty good one. I am glad you are taking time for yourself. Just from your posts already it seems you are incredibly busy. I had a fitbit-the small one but accidentally washed it with my bra. So I recently purchased the Fitbit Flex which I love. Like you said, even if I feel like I have done nothing all day I can look at my progress and know that I actually did do something.Mine buzzes and flashes at me when I make my daily goal which is kind of funny cause that normally happens when I am running around at the resturant on the floor. the first time it happened I almost dropped my tray. You have a fabulous day and if you keep cleaning in baby steps your holiday clutter will be gone in no time -Kiera Moonfire Browncoats
  8. Hey Twibble, looks like you are off to a great start. I would say just be careful having the same thing for lunch everyday. I know for me when I get bored with eating the same foods over again, that is when I head straight out to what I consider "healthy fast food" (which isn't very healthy). Maybe try mixing it up with leftovers or crock pot stuff like other people have mentioned. Great job planning ahead. That tends to be one of the hardest things for me since my schedule is all over the place. -Kiera Moonfire Browncoats
  9. A new haircut or look is always a fantastic way to start a new challenge and yours looks great! I too have been working too hard and forgeting about the important people in my life. My resolution was just to Do more this year. More with friends and family, more with my griffin pup, more to make me happy. It is all about the quality and not the quantity. I am sure you will do great this challenge
  10. Have you posted your new challenge yet? I kind of lost it on the last one too. But together we can make this new challenge really great! So get off your computer and go do something right now -Kiera Moonfire Browncoat

  14. Permission to come back aboard? Recap of last challenge-I started strong but lost a bufer panel and all my extra lives last time. So I will be starting the new year trying to reach level 1 (again). Hope everyone made it through the holidays. Kiera
  15. Challenge finish......Well the last two weeks haqve been busy but I guess that is how every week seems to have gone. I pretty much stopped doing all of my mini goals this last week and I ate a lot of xmas cookies that I made as gifts.(They are hard to resist) So as far as the contest goes I don't think I will be leveling up this time. Some good things did come out of it though. 1) I learned that if I could just stick to it I really could see results. 2) I need to find more time in my life for me 3)Although I did not meet my goals I still lost 5.6lbs and 3 inches 4)I actually am posting today which I could have just blown off since I didn't actually complete my mission. 5)I am ready to start another mission. So all and all it was a good expereince that I have learnded from and will continue to try and accomplish again. 16. Hope everyone is doing good. I fell off for a spell but I am back. With 2 weeks to go I am going to try and make a final push for my goals! Sorry I haven't posted much but have been incredibly busy.
  17. Now for week 3-I feel like I died in game and now have to use a second life. Let's review: Goal 1: Fruit and veggies: I did ok on veggies- of course some were slathered in green bean cassarole sauce. I had veggies 4 out of the 7 days but fruit only 2 days. I still didn't have in V8 Fusion to help as a fall back. I would say I still made an effort without avoiding them all together C- Goal 2: Zombie/30Day- Once again totally skipped 30 Day and no Zombies-Worked my but off 4 out of the 7 days and walked a whole day at Ren Fest. C- here too. I have since revisited the challenge and have created a new one for the month of December that might work better. I was sick for part of the week and it was nasty rainy cold so I was pretty much unmotivated. Goal 3: Blew this one up as well. Nithing like pumpkin pie and thousands of deserts to kill my already flagging will power. Although I did not go over board I still ate more than one treat a day. C- Life Goal: Since I did so much last week and didn't have a lot of time this week I put it on hold. I am not giving myself a grade this week on this one. So as I said instead of today being day one all over again. I will use my second life to try and regain ground and hopefully still pull this off in the next two weeks. Weight 12.2.13 12.2.13 Left Right Changes Arms 12 12 - Chest 40 +1 Waist 32 -1 Hips 39 +1 Thigh 20 20 - Calve 15 15 - Weight 297.6 +1 Changes +1lbs +1 From last week Goal for November === 10 lbs and 10 inches So Far -3lbs -6inches
  18. So I kind of fell off the face of the boards. I have been incredibly busy and have had little time for being online. Here is my update on Week 2 (I am way behind on posting:( ) Goal 1: Fruit and Veggie: Like I mentioned previously Stuck to this one pretty good and tried a few new veggies. I am eating meals with vegetables cooked in them-sounds weird but I normally either pick around normal veggies or I dont put them in at all.Fruits still good as well- ran out of v8 fusion at the end of the week which made it difficult to have a fall back. A Goal 2: Zombie/30 Day: No 30 Day at all (Once the numbers got so high I found I slacked on this) Zombie 3 times-also 4 dble straight throughs at work- I realize I should be adding extra -not just counting what I already do but that was a lot of running around a large restaurant-I am counting it. B Need to sub out the challenge or bring it down a notch Goal 3: Sweets Did really well on sweets- at the end of the week started faltering on the sub goals(Which don't count for the challenge) had some drinks after work on Sat and Sun (Which then includes sprite.) Still an A on this one Life Goal: A++++++ I put my portfolio up on Behance. I don't have everything up but a huge chunk of it is done. This week started to slide. My car went into the shop again to the tune of $1500 that I don't have so I kind became really sad for a while. Also was extremely busy at work (We had our busiest day of the year on Saturday.) So when this stuff starts to happen I tend to let go doing the right stuff. But I think I held on ok this week. Weight 11.25.13 11.25.13 Left Right Changes Arms 12 12 -1 Chest 39 - Waist 33 -.5 Hips 38 -1 Thigh 20 20 -2 Calve 15 15 +1 Weight 196.6 +.8 Changes +.8lbs -3.5 Goal for November === 10 lbs and 10 inches so far -4lbs/-7in
  19. Quick update: So far this week: I have bailed on all of my 30 day challenges but in that same category I have done many Zombie,Runs. Plus today was a straight through volume which counts. I am doing ok on veggies and fruits but not as enthusiastic as last week.(Although I have eaten broccoli and spag squash) I have kept my sweets to 2 small pieces of Chili dark chocolate at night as my reward for not eating sweets all day. (It helped today because i was so tempted to grab one of our deserts at work(worth 1 billion calories of yummy goodness)-but I didn't) No Sodas,No alcohol. And on a good note I spent all day yesterday getting my portfolio set up on the web. I got a major part of my life goal done. (My car went into the shop for another huge repair so I had some free time ) That's it for now-hope everyone else is rockin' week 2!!!!!!!!! -Kiera
  20. I got picked for Elder scrolls as well but I might be working the whole time.
  21. Thanks guys! Damaramu: I can't figure out how to post a pic hehe. Do I have to upload it some where else then link it? That is all I can seem to find.
  22. Way to go! It is always hard to stay on track when you are "on vacation" from your normal routine. Keep up the great work and you will have beaten this challenge in no time. Also I know it is always great to be perfect but hey no one is perfect. As long as you have tried and done your best - that is 100%. -Kiera
  23. Sounds like you are doing fantastic! Keep up the great work!
