  1. Didn't do so hot on diet. 33%, but kept active and french up. New job starts the 2nd with two weeks of training before some much deserved down time. Then on to another country!
  2. I haven't been keeping well tracking, things have been crazy. Only three days of not walking, all days eating better, and still on top of my French game. Now to get on here more to record.
  3. Week 2 Purging: This is sort of happening as a necessity. I resigned and am leavnig country. I either must mail or carry my earthly belongings home, and thus am purging a massive ammount of things I do not need.
  4. Day 7 Diet 100% Fitness YES! Walked the 25 minute walk from the office rather than wait for the bus. French Yes! Day 8 Diet: 100% Fitness: YES! Walked the 25 minute walk from the office rather than wait for the bus. French Yes! Day 9 Diet 50% Fitness: No, got a ride today. French Yes!
  5. Diet 75% again, not being able to get my lunch sabatoged it today. I need something to jump start activity... French Another review down, maybe half way throguh this I will set points goals, lets see how going home is on internet access.
  6. Been a while since I updated: Diet: Day 3 75% Day 4: 100% Day 5: 100% Activity 0%, just not finding time or energy French: 100%
  7. Oh and I resigned today, a new chapter is begining
  8. Day Two: Diet: ALmost total fail, maybe 10% healthy. Activity: Does jumping around in celebration count? French: Nailed it!
  9. I am a contractor in Afghanistan, no need to be pouting. First day: Diet: Met the 80%, but barely. I need to avoid all the cakes and other goodies when the food is not up to par, just need to remember most of the desserts are not either. Movement: Not yet, had a stressful busy shift. French: Achieved, reviewed a few old lessons and started a new section.
  10. It seems all I ever do is respawn, partly due to chaos I cannot control. This is going to be a simple six week challenge, becuase it may need to survive multiple countries adn work schedules. My challenge is to bring some order to my chaos. I plan on doing that by: The 80% diet. I do not have control over what dishes are prepared and what food is avaliable. Strict diets are useless here. Thus 80% of the time I want to eat healthy, and 20% of the time I am able to indulge so to say. Start being active 3 times a week. I am the over planner, and often find things do not match my lifestyle. Sure the Marines are able to take over an hour off a night and go to the gym, but I barely get 30 minutes that I am not doing something (although on my ass something). So this is my chance to try soem things, figure out what I enjoy as long as it is at least three times a week. I would prefer 6, but this is on my own without a personal coach or trainer (what I have called my workout friends in the past). Keep learning. I graduated from the university in December, and now I have no idea where that time is. I plan on making some time each day to learning, and right now it is to continue French on Duolingo. Other learning goals will be added to this as I am able, but right now at a minimum getting a day check in French is sufficient. I plan on using hte 10% scale for grading (90-100 = A and so forth), in seeing how much I was able to do for the next six weeks. I hope this isnt too late to post.
  11. I said short term as I contract overseas, and may be changing contracts and locations.
  12. The only issue is this will probably short term. Its a start, but want omething more long term ultimatly. If not I just keep respawning with little improvements.
  13. Thank you both for the congratulations and encouragement. Last night I found a workout partner, who is cool with letting me joing him. This was an unknown resource as it is while I am on shift and in my work area but hidden. Being on night shift has its perks .
  14. O I keep putting things off, and finally my last excuse has expired. I graduated school, so now there is no more too much time studying excuse. I still am trying to figure out a plan, but I love this respawn opportunity.
  15. I haven't been on here recently, and my did this thread explode in a wonderful supportive way. Things got better around me, right now being impaitent again. I have not done anyhting on my list on page one I wanted to achieve, but I am trying to look on the bright side. This is midterms, of my last semeter. In four weeks I graduate. As the holdiays draw neare, reach out to those who may need it. FOr some holidays are not a jolly and bright time.
  16. I have the oposite effect of depressive swings, I lose weight. It is due to a general lack of appetite thoguh, and not a healthy or permament loss.
  17. Thank you all for the responses. I have been having an up and down week Some days are much easier than others.
  18. Unfortunatly no videos are allowed to be taken. I practice in my office and cameras or recording equipment is forbidden. As crazy as this sounds I think I figures it ut that I was not reaching high enough, I was trying to start low on the wall. If I go higher my feet stay up just fine.
  19. Fellow Rebellers I need help. I am following the Hand Stand Challenge http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2013/10/24/how-to-handstand-better-than-luke-skywalker/, but having trouble with wall planks. I can do a plank for a minute, but cannot climb my feet off the wall. ANy suggestions???? This is my second day trying.
  20. By the way I love your sheep picture. I just feel like I should always be father along than I am. Faster running, learning faster etc. It takes alot to ground me and not get discouraged.
  21. I always want to do everything at once: foreign languages, new work out routine on my own (I just moved and my best friend personal traininer is at my old location), investing...
  22. Thank you all who replied. I never can seem to line up my goal planning cycle with a six week challenge. Does anyone else have this issue? Do you hold off for the next cycle, or start without it?
  23. I hope this subject is not too taboo. I was diagnosed with clinical and situational depression years ago. I'd rather not get into what happened, but I found normal routes of therapy nad drugs not working for me. Instead I found being busy, and engaged the best way to keep it at bay. Works great for a Nerd Fitness mentality when it is constnat challenges and improvements. Sometimes things happen and I slip, I have found that I must take small steps to get back to a regular routine before I can accept new challenges. Jumping back to a regular routine is overwhelming and can cause a recession into depression again. If anyone else on here has a similar issue/ finds this approach helpful, what do you do to keep from getting overwhelmed coming out of depression? If people consider this to be too taboo, I have no heartache in removing it.
  24. I wish I could guarentee eight hours, last night almost asleep and incomming alarm... to the bunker. After an hour all clear, back to bed... and everyone else getting comfortable. Nightmares on top of all this. Dragged ass today, but still hit the gym after work.
  25. Standing is not an option due to the way our offices are built, and our funiture is built. Amazing what you can do with plywood.
