  1. Thank you for the information, and yeah there was a pretty steep part to the bridge, more so than I had noticed with my car I think. I wish I could see my form a little bit better when I run.. :/ Ahaha I forgot I'm probably the only person locked in eternal summer here sorry about that!
  2. I hope everyone had a good DAY 2!! I know I did! +5 if you relaxed in the grass! +10 if you saw a shooting star! +5 if you earned your supper! If you missed out on something you know you should/could have done... Then you owe it to yourself to owe yourself!
  3. DAY TWO UPDATE!! What I did: I ran The Ford Island Bridge! I've seen people do it everymorning and every night, and tonight was my night! -Start at Navy Lodge, run to guard post, run back! -On my way back I did 10 push ups for every 3 lamp posts. (that was a lot of lamp posts!!!) -There is a final stretch of a big expanse of grass with palm trees dotted 50-100ft from eachother. - SOOO I decided to play spy and run from palm tree to palm tree in the darkness between cars passing! (twas fun) -Layed in the grass and stared at the night sky! (Saw a shooting star I kid you not!) -Did my cool down stretches. (Still doing them) -Did my recommended 5 minutes of hand stand practice. (didn't do as good as yesterday, I think I'm tired, I couldn't hold for a full minute like I did yesterday but I half thought that would happen...) -About to eat!! What I learned: -Drink considerably more water! -Do my hand stand practice either first thing in the morning, or atleast before my actual work out. -To watch my running form, my back was kind of hurting, I fixed it half way through though... hopefully it isn't my shoes... In closing: Today was a good day two! I most certainly earned my soon to come meal and sleep, and I hope you all did two! P.S.: If you find yourself in the Honolulu area and really want to run this bridge just let me know and I can try and get you past the gate guard! It's a very pleasent run in a very pleasent area!
  4. I'm going for the handstand as well I'll see you guys on... The FLIP side! -snicker-
  5. Practical Paleo (the first cook book when you search paleo cook book on amazon) has been a really helpful tool for me and my wife! It gives you all kinds of infoation, aside from food recipies.
  6. Hello and welcome I was doing the work out/cardio before work for 3 months (just recently starting again) and I really enjoyed it. I felt great all day, besides being hungry, but I like being hungry because it tells me I did something! The hardest part is those first few days of waking up, but I'd say after day 3 that is a minor problem! Maybe my biggest advice would be to get ready for tomorrow before you go to bed the night before! Good luck!
  7. Don't forget to add frequent and proper stretching to your diet! I ran into a bit of knee pain until I really looked into proper stretching when I had stepped up my run frequency in the past. I'd hate to see you held back from something preventable...
  8. I recognize that name! And thank you very much! I'll be cheering you on as well!
  9. Hope you all had a good DAY ONE! Earn your sleep!
  10. Hello All! I'm Sev and this is my story! I've never been the best at really... anything, but I'm pretty good at most things I try. I'm a natural runner, and feel more at home away from home sometimes. Being out and seeing the sky, or the ocean, or a big stretch of forest and always craving the adventure that it holds. I ride my bicycle most days, I run some days, and I certainly don't swim or lift as often as I would like.. but I would still say I'm decently fit when compared to other people I'm around. I joined the the US Navy to really go on an adventure, and I did! I've been to multiple countries and have done very many things since i joined 3 years ago! I currently live on Ford Island in Hawaii (just moved here a week ago) If I had a race I'd be an Elve, I weigh 165, I'm not as big as most people, nor am I as small as most of my friends. I love the forest and nature, and adventure. I feel pretty attune to the world around me If I could choose a profession, I'd be a Ranger! I love the thought of being a true jack of all trades, I feel that I somewhat am right now, but I've only scratched the surface... My Stats: Weight: 165 Height: 5'10" Body Type: Average-ish Blood-Type: AB+ My Goals: 1. Gain Weight 2. Get Tan 3. Do everything I currently do better 4. Pick up new skills along the way It's a pretty vague list but I know everything that each goal entails. What I offer: I'm absolutely willing to share any information about my life experiences, from being married with a kid at a young age, to being in the military, to all the random adventures i've tried, to my new experience with the Paleo Diet. I've picked up a lot of knowledge about fitness, but most of what I know is from when I first visited this site about a year ago! I also offer a good/motivated work out partner if you happen to live in the area! I could really use one myself if you are available. In closing: I'm really excited to be a part of this community and to join in on the challenges, I can't wait to see the person I am 3 months from now, and even 1 year from now, because I know that with help from here, I'll truly be... LEVELED UP!! ahaha
