  1. Ok here we go. Started this challenge fairly well although bad weather caused a massive problem with my "Going Active" goal at the start and it never recovered. Then somewhere around week 3-4 I unexpectedly found out this amazing guy liked me too and we started dating. Challenge wise it all went downhill from there. I got distracted, social and love life suddenly boomed, all thought of fitness went out the window most of the time. I really need have a good think on what I need to do and find a balance so I can maintain work, fun, fitness and a love life without dropping the ball on one. Going Active : STA 3 Over the course over the challenge I want to see improvement on my cycling skills. My start point is from my house to city centre in 30mins, with gears used being 2nd and 3rd (ignoring changes for hills). My end goal is from my house to city centre in 20mins, OR gears being used 3rd and 4th. I did nearly zip on this goal. Weather started off being really bad, then I just completely lost the plot on this. Complete F and no stat points for this. Bend and Flex : DEX 5 Mixture of stretching and strengthening. A stretch set for this challenge is includes; ankles, hamstring, calves, thighs, shoulders, back, neck. For strengthening, 2 plank attempts. I'm aiming to hold it for 20 seconds. Over the 6 weeks I graded A, B, B, B, C, C slacking the further it went as my social life perked up and I just flat out forgot. No excuses. I did by the end manage to maintain 2x 20sec planks which felt great though! On average it's a B, approx 3 Dex. Sparkling Smile : CON 5 Seriously ashamed to admit it but I am really bad at brushing my teeth. They are in remarkably good condition considering that but it's long past time I got them sparkling and treated them how they deserve! Brush'em at least once a day. Over the 6 weeks I graded A, B, B, A, B, D. That last week was pathetic really. Again no excuses. On average it's a B though and even if I've not come out of the challenge with a great daily habit, I am thinking about it more and remembering more often. I think 4 Con is fair. Life Goal: Tattoo Time! : WIS 2 Simple one, put £10 aside a week towards an hours tattooing. The first 3 weeks the money was sidelined into a mothers day gift, but I did put it aside each week. 2 Wis achieved.

  3. Sorry its been so long to reply. He has used a few different companies for different levels of certificate. Most recently he used Active IQ who do qualifications and certify with EHFA I think. www.activeiq.co.uk"Active IQ and EHFA: Active IQ’s Fitness Instructing and Personal Trainer qualifications map to the European Health and Fitness standards and allow access to the European Register of Exercise Professionals." Dont know if that helps at all!
  4. Week 5 Bulk Catchup This was a really bad week for the challenge. A mixture of stress, and a rapidly increase in social demands now I'm dating have combined into a complete fitness-wise waste of a week. In other ways its gone well though. Went on a proper date going to the fair on Friday, did all the cheesy stuff, candy floss, won a toy had never been to a fair before either so it was fun! Sunday was dinner with a friend who's emmigrating out the country. Going Active - Absolutely zilch again this week. Been doing too much running around to be able to fit in bike time. Bend and Flex - Only once this week. Sparkling Smile - Did manage 5/7 in total this week Life Goal: Tattoo Time - OMG how did I forget this?... Week 6 Ok the plan for this week is to end this completely mixed bag of a challenge on a high note. Friday is a bank holiday/day off work so I definitely plan to get some major cycling in. Day 1: Going Active - (not til the weekend) Bend and Flex - (nope) Sparkling Smile - (nope, not impressed with myself) Life Goal: Tattoo Time - (not yet) Day 2: Going Active - (not til the weekend) Bend and Flex - yes, finally got something useful done! Sparkling Smile - Yup Life Goal: Tattoo Time - I've put aside £10 for this week, and £10 for what I forgot last week too.
  5. Onto week 5 already? Time is flying too fast and I'm not where I wanted to be on this challenge... Week 5! Day 1: Going Active - (no bike time) Bend and Flex - (nope) Sparkling Smile - (nope) Life Goal: Tattoo Time - (not done yet) What a waste of a day. I intended to at least go swimming with a friend (we haven't been in a couple of weeks due to clashing schedules) but got there to find I had a 2 inch bolt punctured through my back tyre, so the swim time was spent swapping the tyre out for the make-do-spare. I was so annoyed I got home and just went to bed in an exhausted huff. Car currently in getting a new set of rear tyres today (day 2) which has been a whole other bother. I'll cover day 2 later.

  7. The same illness for the 4th time in 2 months? That's not good is it definitely just being run down, not maybe something related to allergies or something in the environment? Sounds like you're doing well otherwise though, keep smiling I'm sure the nasty bug will go away soon!

Woah I haven't posted in ages.... ^^ That is kinda the reason I've been preoccupied and dropped off the planet It all came out in the strangest of ways; an evening of flirting turned into him rescuing me from a wierd guy in a bar, and ended with kisses and an agreement to see where things lead us. But I guess it's bad for my challenge because I've been distracted texting each other and all the stereotypical daydreaming - I seem to have turned into a school girl again instead of the responsible adult image I've carefully cultivated til now! Summary Week 3: Going Active - I didn't get any cycling in at the weekend, mostly because Friday night I went out with friends, ended up basically on a date which ended at 2am. Saturday was then spent feeling exhausted but bouncy happy so I think it's a fair trade off Sunday was Mothers Day and spent the whole day with mum. Bend and Flex - Overall I think I missed 1 of the 3 for the goal over the week. Sparkling Smile - 2 days got missed over the week but 5/7 isn't bad for me. Life Goal: Tattoo Time - Didn't technically put money aside, but did spend it on a meal and treats for my mum Sunday Week 4! Day 1: Going Active - (no bike time) Bend and Flex - (nope, distracted) Sparkling Smile - Remembered Life Goal: Tattoo Time - (not done yet) Day 2: Going Active - (no bike time) Bend and Flex - (nope, distracted) Sparkling Smile - Remembered again getting better at this! Life Goal: Tattoo Time - (not done yet) Day 3: Going Active - (no bike time) Bend and Flex - I got the stretches in but not the planks Sparkling Smile - 3 for 3, this is a good week! Life Goal: Tattoo Time - (not done yet) Day 4: Going Active - (no bike time) Bend and Flex - stretches done and I got 2x 20sec planks done! Awesome! Sparkling Smile - Not done this yet today but off for an early night so be doing this shortly. Life Goal: Tattoo Time - (not done yet)

  13. Week 3! Couple of days off work, then back to the grindstone on Wednesday (today :S ). Back from work now and it was much more pleasant. I think I really needed that break.   14. Woah, been a while since I updated. I'll be better from now on! I had a few days off work and was just massively enjoying the requirement to do NOTHING Thanks both! I'll certainly give it my best shot! I need to start tracking my walking I think, gauge how far that actually is Day 6: Going Active - Cycled to town and back today. I didn't think I did so well on the way there, mostly 2nd gear and a bit of 3rd and 1 dismount for a really long hill. Going back however, I was in 4th gear all the way! Apparently the wind behind me on the way back makes all the difference. Still need to improve though. Bend and Flex - Did them today! Sparkling Smile - Remembered again!   18. Both of these are going to get tried! Need to go shopping today anyway so Kale hunting sounds like a good start This week sounds like its going pretty well! Nice on the portal capture! I'm level 2 now - I lucked out and found a portal someone was taking down and got the last shot in xD I'm pretty sure that shoveling snow does count as strength training by the way!
  19. I've signed up to walk a 10km charity race with work in May! First charity race I've done, even if I'm walking it. Scary stuff :S
  20. It never rains it pours as they say... sorry Feb has been so bad, but glad NF can help get stuff on track again. A 'continuing stuff' challenge sounds perfect this time round, I'll keep cheering for you!

  23. Week 2! Go week 2! This is the week I start my days off work on much needed holiday (Thurs-Tues)! Give me chance to get some biking in, maybe go round the parks and hit up some enemy Ingress portals! Raring to go! Day 1: Going Active - (no bike time until holidays) Bend and Flex - (not happening today) Sparkling Smile - Noo bad start to the week Intended to do my usual and brush in the evening but came home with a migraine and promptly forgot. Not good enough. Life Goal: Tattoo Time - (not done yet) Day 2: Going Active - (no bike time until holidays) Bend and Flex - Stretches done, just gotta do the planks to wrap up the days flex-y stuff. - update: 2 planks and one was 20 seconds! The other 10 seconds. Sparkling Smile - I am determined to do this today. Forgot this morning but WILL do it this evening.
