  1. I'm back in business after being gone for a while :-)

  2. I have had the idea of starting with fitness in my head for a long time now and finally got a membership for the gym on my university campus. But like so many before me I got intimdated and didn't know what to do so for a 2 weeks I only did cardio and asked some people in my family if they could help with a plan. But since they haven't responded yet i'm trying here. My overal goals are: - Gain muscle/strength - Improve endurance - Increases flexibilty I want to keep my focus for strengt training on the freeweights and was already sure after reading here that squads and pull ups (assisted or negatives at first) should be in my plan. My back is a weakpoint in my opinion so I want to have a bit more focus on that. Other information that might help is that i'm planning to go 3 days a week when I have a clear plan with what I should do and want to start running on the offdays. For flexibility I was thinking about Yoga but I'm also not sure where to start on that so any tips are welcome!
  3. So my last update was friday so I'll do an update about my weekend. I went out to do some jumprope on friday but man is it exhausting. I only got to twelve minutes so i'll need to built on that. Saturday is my rest day so I didn't do much. I went to the market with two flatmates and got some calliflower for that day and sunday. I also went to start on my Life Quest and played guitar for half an hour. I can really notice my fingers aren't as supple anymore. And yesterday it was workout day again which went well. I put 1KG extra on my dumbbell for my rows and that felt more challenging. I also did another 40 minutes of playing guitar, Yeah :-) Sleeping also went fine. I slept 8 hours from friday to saturday, about 10 hours from saturday on sunday and from sunday to today i slept 5
  4. Yesterday I got my sleep alright just still not the way i would like it. For my taste I need to sleep to long and I can't fall asleep before 3am so I need to get that part right first. My workout went great but i'm thinking about changing because a friend of mine told me i can get a gymmembership for the rest of the month for €10 and if i sign up in febuary for the second half year i get the €10 back and since i was already planning on buying the second half year.... Last night I had a birthday party so had some beer (more than I set out to) so I can honestly say I slept great :-) I'm going to start cooking dinner now and then find the motivation to go in front of my door for al the neighbours to see me jump rope for half an hour.
  5. You have set great goals and are doing great at getting there and while doing that you're reffering to one of my favorite movie franchises. Keep on going through because its not about how hard you can hit but how hard you can get hit!
  6. So the sleeping part went well today. I had/have made a bad habit of not sleeping enough over the winterbreak but I got 6 hours last night. Still I was really tired today and after dinner I mailed my CV to the company, I laid down on my bed and fell a sleep. So i'm now quickly updating this so I can go to sleep again (hopefully) and will do my workout first thing tomorrow morning. I does bring me back on the workout days I wanted but it is not the way I wanted to go back to those days. Feeling bit bummed out about it.
  7. So I started yesterday with my Beginner Bodyweight Cicuit workout i already have been doing it longer. It went well, at least better than the last two weeks at my parents house. Today I wanted to do some jump rope but I started to late and wasn't able to do since my ceiling in my room is to low. On a other note I might be getting a job but first i need to make my own CV and mail it to the company.
  8. With the start of a new year I want to continue the start I made with building better habits and changing my life. The Christmas break made me slip a bit but I restrained myself fairly well so I didn’t completely fall back. I did my workouts only my eating became a bit worse. So time to get back on track and improve my life to start my twenties in a good fashion since my birthday is coming up next month. Your Main Quest My main goal is to improve my overal strenght and fitness. I never was the strongest or the fittest and I don’t need to be. But when I started playing soccer again after the summer break I felt weak and unfit. I knew I could do way better and I want to know I preform the best I can. Specific Goals: - Do the beginner Bodyweight Circuit 3 times a week ( or another workout because I might get a gym membership next month) and jump rope for half an hour on of days with exception of the rest day. - Improve my sleeping pattern so that I sleep at least 7 hours a night and go to sleep at 1 o’clock latest - Cut out soda completely Life Quest When I started college last year I took two of my guitars with me and put them on the wall in my room. The have come down on occasion but not as much as I would like and whenever I play now sometimes I feel like with my fitness that it has become worse and I don’t play to my potential. So I want to do something about this and go even past the level I already was. For this I have printed the “Learn and Master Guitar†course last summer but haven’t done anything with it so now I want to start with it and complete a lesson each week (it is divided in 10 lessons). Complete a lesson each week of “Learn and Master Guitar†and practice for at least half an hour 5 days a week. What's Your Motivation? My motivation is that I want to feel good about myself. I recently started doing workouts and I started feeling better about myself because of it and when I missed one day it made me feel bad about myself and a little depressed. So I want to feel good about myself and get the most out of my body and mind! Grading I’m not really used to a scale for A-F but I will try to create one. Workouts: Over 6 weeks A: missed 1 or 2 B: missed 3 or 4 C: missed 5 or 6 D: missed 7 or 8 F: missed 9 or more Sleeping: Daily A: slept 7 hours or more B: Slept 6 hours F: Slept less than 6 hours Soda: Over 6 weeks A: No soda’s B: 1-5 Soda’s C: 5-10 D: 10-15 F: more than 15 Guitar play: weekly A: practiced half an hour a day for 5 days B: practiced half an hour a day for 4 days C: practiced half an hour a day for 3 days D: practiced half an hour a day for 2/1 days F: Didn’t practice at all
  9. Happy New year everyone!!

  10. So last thursday i did my workout on a bit of a time schedule since my little sister was coming over to visit. This probably ment sacrificing some form for speed and i completed my workout in about 30 minutes. But i had some troubles with the pushups so I stopped at 10 with those instead of 12. Friday was rest day and Saturday I went to the city to buy a jumprope and walk around a bit. I looked at a new record store that opend in my parents town and bought the lp Abbey Road from the beatles and Beggar's Banquet and Tattoo You from the Rolling Stones. And today I did my first workout at my parents house which was really hard since i had the idea it was much more muggy than my normal workout space so I took some more time for it and watched my form. I did everything as planned so 20 squad, lunges and dumbbell rows, 12 pushups, 35 seconds plank and 30 jumping jacks. I want to start jumping rope on my off days but since i'm at my parents house it is going to be hard to change my habits here because i'm used to letting myself have a looser time here. But I hope to gather the willpower to change my habits here for the better as well and don't eat to bad over the christmass break. Happy Holidays Everyone!
  11. I loved the first season and my addiction with the show has gotten even worse now with the second season. I'm really interested in the new developments with the villains and always love the flashbacks to the island. My mother also loves the show but since the second season doesn't air in the Netherlands until 5 januari I don't want to spoil anything for her which is hard if you consider the following has happend: I can't wait to see how it develops over the rest of the season!
  12. It is indeed from Callico Jack, but I found that out after I used the name. I played Star Wars the Old Republic for a while when it came out and had a human gunslinger for which I randomized a name and Callico was the one that came out and i really liked so it just stuck with me. I was thinking of starting doing jump rope and if you recommend it than that is just an extra encouragment to pick it up. I was thinking of looking for a rope this weekend when i'm back in my home town for christmas break. Are there things I should look for when buying one?
  13. Great story and what a change you made! You have done great in such short time!!
  14. So today is officially the day for the one month celebration of my decision to work on my fitness. I have been doing 3 workouts a week and feel great about it and i'm definitely going to continue on this road to a heathier live. I'm a bit bumped out that I "can't" do a workout today but I did one yesterday and plan to do one tomorrow so I need to stick with the recovery day. Its also time to start working on some other slight habit changes as to improve my sleeping and to increase the time spend on studying so I will work on that next.
  15. You started and that is important. Just remember slow and steady wins the race. Hang in there!
