  1. Okay, so I'm not so good at keeping my progress updated but the good news is that I am a little better at keeping up with my goals. Way back a day or two after my last update I took some body measurements since I thought it would help me see progress at the end of the challenge. Here are my "beginning" numbers. Height: 5 ft. 6 in. Weight: 168 lbs. Chest: 38 in. Waist: 34.5 in. Hip: 42.5 in. Nov. 25- 30 I did yoga on Tues. and Fri. (thank goodness for the Y having a special after Thanksgiving workout blast) I only walked 3 days. Thurs. I didn't get all my water in but the rest of the days I did! No journal writing. Dec. 1-7 2 days of Yoga! I only walked 2 days. I got all my water 4 days this week No journal writing Dec. 8-11 I made it to yoga on Tues and am planning on going tomorrow. I haven't reached my goal with my water yet this week. I walked on Mon. but that is it. I did write in my journal Sun. night though! Everything except yoga has been tough these last couple of weeks. But I've done more than I would have if I wasn't doing the challenge. I have so many Christmas projects (for myself and others) that I feel swamped, exhausted and stressed. All the more reason to get up and go walking but I am naturally lazy. This is actually being more of a challenge than I expected. I thought I had pretty easily reachable goals but obviously I need to work at making them true habits.
  2. Wed. I got my walk in first thing in the morning. 20 min. Yay! I was too distracted during the day (too many projects) and I only got about 24 oz of water in me (but I finished a quilt top!) Thurs. I walked again this morning (15 min.) before getting a lunch for my preschooler to take to his class and getting my youngest to his doctor's check up. I missed my regularly scheduled yoga class because of the appointment. I thought I might do some yoga on my own later, but it didn't happen. I got my 60 oz of water! Fri. I walked for 20 min. this morning. I still didn't get any yoga in. I squeezed in my water, finishing the last of my 60 oz. after 10:30pm Sat. I walked for 20 min. in the afternoon (it helped that my baby was fussy so I just stuck him in the sling and walked with him and he eventually fell asleep. I drank my water, again squeezing the last of it in at the last minute before going to bed but I drank it all! Still no yoga.
  3. Hi and welcome! I joined a little late as well. I used to love to sleep in. Now I have kids that like to wake up by 6:30 in the morning (ugh!). While it is hard to drag my self out of bed it really does make a difference how much I get done when I get up and get moving before 9am (sometimes I'm awake but not getting anything done.) Good luck on developing those kickass healthy habits!
  4. I walked for 20 min. this morning and took a very leisurely stroll to see Christmas lights with the family tonight. I did not get all my water for the day (leaving my water bottle at home when we were gone for classes most of the day really hindered my water intake, it was filled up and ready to go, but it just didn't make it from the counter to the car). I've got yoga tomorrow morning and I'm going to try and squeeze some walking in before class.
  5. Hi there Y'all I just posted an introduction in the Rebel Introductions, but here is a shorter version. I'm a mother of 6. My oldest is 12 years old. My youngest is 2 months. I homeschool my kids, teach contemporary dance, and sew when I get a chance. My main goal: Reach my pre--pregnancy size (size 6) Mini goals to get there: 1. Do at least 20 min. of power yoga twice a week 2. Walk at least 15 min. 6 days a week 3. Drink at least 60 oz of water a day Life Goal: Write in my journal at least once a week. Thats it! Now I need to get some sleep before the baby decides its eating time again!
  6. Hi, My husband has been on here for a while and has done a few challenges already. He talked me into getting on here and starting a challenge. I love to dance and sew. I'm in my mid-30s, a mother of 6 kids, 12 yrs to 2 months in age. I grew up dancing and running and have always been in pretty good shape. I currently teach contemporary dance and do power yoga twice a week. I was doing that up until I had my baby so I'm in decent shape but I can do better. I've also ran in a couple of Warrior Dashes and some local 5Ks over the last few years. I homeschool my kids. Between teaching them, taking them to their other classes, teaching my dance classes, sewing projects (for me and others), nursing a baby every couple of hours, reading books, cleaning, fixing meals, etc. it is a challenge to find time exercise. I want to get back to my pre-pregnancy size (a size 6, currently a size 12). I really love my yoga class and have already made going a habit, but I want to do more. Also, I need some motivation to cut back on the sweets, my will power in this area is very weak. Here's to bouncing back into shape!
