  1. Hello All, Kinda freaked out back in November. Quit my job, moved to Northern Vermont from Boston. Managed to get another job and a place to live, pretty quickly. Without a plan. I am unsure how my diet has been affected, weight I am unsure of either. Haven't seen a scale since Boston. I eat as fresh as I can. Started eating more carbs, fresh local bread, beer. Recently kicked my coffee habit, switched to tea Way too much cheese! Thats next to go. Traditional working out has dissapeared. I walk about a mile a day, maybe more. Gonna try the hotel workout. New long term goal? Become a running bad ass. I cant keep any good pace. Leveled up my life severely in the last couple months.
  2. Viking thanks for looking up on me. I was trying to find my challenge thread deep in the confines of the 6 week challenge forum. Instead I am discovering it in the recent posts. Weight has gone down a few pounds. 216ish to 214ish (with shoes) I am not measuring any other metrics, I should, I know I should. Went to the gym last night, squats stayed the same, wasn't feeling it. 487lbs Leg press, 5X Need to work on the bench a bit, stayed at 145 3x Creativity I think has taken a dive, trying to doodle a bit here and there. Showered thoroughly this morning and brushed. I even thought about trimming the facial hair, its no shave November so I cant. Forgot about deodorant this morning, I usually keep a stash in my bag, I forgot to replace it. Maybe this afternoon. I am trying this cold temperature thing I am reading about in 4 hour body. You burn more fat trying to stay warm. Today its one whole bag of frozen spinach. Then some homemade beef soup later.
  3. This is more of a question than a critique, How are those turkey burgers with the processing and sodium levels? I try to stay away from anything overly processed and cleverly disguised as something else.
  4. Ok more creative today. +1? Posted a writing on my site. http://myrewiringbrain.weebly.com/1/post/2011/10/traffic-and-self-affirmation.html I think you will have to copy paste, I am horrible at forums. If this is inappropriate, let me know.
  5. Watch for the carb flu as well. It is usually three to four days for me when I am cutting back. I am in the middle of mine right now. that is why I forgot to mention it. Carb flu for me; No longer hungry, lethargic, headache. Just want to nap all day regardless of caffeine intake. Essentially flu like symptoms. I will be fine tomorrow.
  6. How often are you working out? Are they intense? You may need more food if your mobility is higher than average. Average meaning, You don't get up from your desks for hours, walk to the car and then sit on the couch for hours. I find myself needing an unheard of amount of food. I walk about 2 miles everyday on top of a physical job as well as the gym twice a week. How was you diet before the switch? If it was carbs and sugar centric you could be experiencing withdrawals. You like nuts? I would grab a bag nuts to curb those feelings of hunger, just a handfull of almonds.
  7. I plan on handing out raisins on halloween, not chocolate covered either. I am working on getting my caffeine addiction worse. Its a constant flow at this point.
  8. Its certainly not a maybe. I think you are doing great. It looks to me that you are successfully replacing all those sugar calories with real food calories. Hows your caffeine intake? Mine is through the roof BTW. Its something I am working on. How bad of a sugar consumer were you before the switch? My piece of advice when you slip up, it will happen mind you. Don't go crazy will guilt, it will destroy this hard work. Just realized you slipped up and refocus.
  9. Checking in. Went to the gym last night, Increased my bench by ten. Total 145lbs x 5. Weight loss has been stagnant for a while. Not sure what the issue is, I think I need to tighten up my diet. I think I gotta eat more, lift more. Credit card still in one piece. I don't carry it with me now. Thats a plus .5. Can't wash my hair, for halloween. Brushed my teeth well this morning. Haven't done anything creative yet this week, I am reading instead
  10. You better not drive to it. I have no idea how expensive crossfit is.
  11. Vote with your wallet. Purchase food at a farmers market, when you can. (I try to get my meat sources that way) Grow your own. (Failed, commute too far and often) Get a chicken. (soon very soon) When at the grocery store, buy organic (its expensive I know), fresh then frozen. That little barcode on the back of a lot of things? They track that religiously. If "they" see that more people are purchasing healthy items, they will get rid of others, like the peanut butter and jelly in the same jar monstrosity. My interpretation of paleo is simple. Eat as closely to its living essence as possible. Do not distract it with syrups, flavorings or cheeses. Spices are ok(some health benefits). Stay away from wheat, corn and soy products as much as possible. Purchase as close to the farmer as possible.
  12. Surprising, I have yet to have issues drinking and Vibrams, perhaps it is the amount of drinking that did you in? Good thing you weren't in heels. I have had a few issues with curling my toes over and such, I threw it out as me being a moron. I also had issues with blisters in the beginning.

    making eggs...

Its hard to screw up an egg. It takes a lifetime to perfect them. I read a story once about a chef who's interview process was only to make him an omelet, I think he was french.
