  1. Hello All! Since I'm recently certified as an EMT, I'm wondering if there are any firefighters/EMS workers who can give me some advice on how to train for the CPAT. I'm looking for a program I can do with freeweights/cardio type stuff.
  2. Depending on the time, I could do the 31st. I'm starting my paramedic class on the 8th, so I'll be busy after that point as well. I could see if my new monon center membership gets me any passes.
  3. I'm going to be out of town all day on Sunday, but I don't have plans the rest of the week.
  4. I'm not in any of the gyms. I might join Bang! since it's right down the road from me, but I had a bad experience with LA Fitness and am not really interested in any of the others. I would be down for getting together; though, from what I read, you could completely kick my ass in a workout. And Hornet- I have free weights and could probably find a good indoor place.

  6. I'm in Carmel too! I'm currently trying to find a workout group or something. Just started a post about it.
  7. So, I'm kind of new to this and am trying to find a group on the northside/Hamilton County area. Does such a thing exist? If not, would anybody be interested in starting one up? I'm thinking something like meet up at one of the parks in the area regularly, do some training together and keep everyone accountable. I've got some basic free weights that I could bring along, if people wanted to collaborate and try to get some equipment for the meet-ups that they don't have at home.
  8. So, how strict do you have to keep a Paleo diet? I'm interested in starting out on Paleo, but I'm also in a very bad place as far as diet changing goes. Because of my work/school situation, I generally have to eat 90% of my food on the go. This makes healthful, grain-free food much harder for me. I also am about to start working at a firehouse, where I will have no control over my diet during work; and I turn 21 in 3 weeks. My EMT course is up in a month, and huge celebrations are planned. There is absolutely no way that I'll be able to cut out grains and non-processed foods for a while. So, my question is, what's a good way to get started while staying within the boundaries of circumstance?
  9. So, I was working on my Batman costume the other day. I'm putting it together piece by piece, and I've finally located all of the pieces. I put together a folder in bookmarks of where to get everything, right down to the thread I was going to use for the cape. I got so wrapped up in this that I almost didn't realise something: I'd look absolutely horrid in a Batman costume. So, I've decided to not get my costume until I can actually look good in it. Hopefully, along the way, I'll pick up some actual Batman skills. So, I'm giving myself a year to look good in a Batman costume. I'm not trying to look like a beast that just crawled out of the pages of the comics, but I also don't want to look like a fat nerd in a morphsuit. As for actual fitness stuff, I'm about 6 foot (6'2 after a trip to the chiropractor's), 250 lbs, 33% body fat as measured by a Navy recruiter. My ancestry's pretty much from everyplace in the British Isles, as well as some of western Europe and native american from my mum's side (Grandma was full cherokee). I'm currently a security guard, and I'm in EMT school and applying to Paramedic school. Long-Term goal's M.D. by 30.
