  1. End of week 3: Exercise (6/7): Monday- Dodgeball Tuesday- Running Wednesday- Basic bodyweight exercises Thursday- Running Friday- Basic bodyweight exercises Saturday- None Sunday- Warm up/cool down practice Nutrition (5/7) Sleep (7/7) Side quest- Chess (6/7): I managed to move to the next level. Probably the best game of Chess I've ever played. Worst week so far, but still not terrible. On to the final week!
  2. I'm pretty happy with how my first challenge has been going thanks. There's been a few poor days but nothing has gone disastrously wrong. Also sorry, I forgot you were updating that one post regularly. I'm glad this challenge has been successful for you!
  3. I like the amount of green I see in your previous post Thrima. The final week is coming now, keep going strong!
  4. Hey, it's been a few weeks. How are you doing at the end of your 5th week?
  5. Thanks peeps! I've decided to stop doing the basic bodyweight circuit and instead work on just getting the form right for each exercise. I will start circuit training for my second challenge (which will likely be a fat loss challenge with the adventurers). Weekly update on Sunday when I have a bit more spare time!
  6. Welcome Veritasria. Learning to clean up your diet while walking every day is a very good start. I would suggest that you aim to stop the calorie counting and just eat paleo foods until you are no longer hungry. Eat mostly vegetables with a serving of protein each meal. If your energy levels get low, try adding a sweet potato or a piece of fruit to a meal, or even more vegetables. Drink lots of water as well because that can be a big factor in energy/fullness.
  7. End of week 2: Exercise (7/7): Monday- Dodgeball Tuesday- Running Wednesday- Dodgeball Thursday- Beginner bodyweight workout Friday- Running Saturday- Beginner bodyweight workout Sunday- Running I feel like I'm progressing well. Circuits and running are both getting easier (still not easy) every time I do them. Nutrition (6/7): The only real dent in this week. Got right back on the Paleo train the next day so I'm cool with it. Sleep (7/7) Zzzzzzz Side quest- Chess (7/7): I have found the level that is a good challenge for me (level 4/10). Haven't beat it all week but I'm now determined to do so before this challenge is over! Overall I'm happy with this week. The biggest victory was continuing my plan the day after my non-paleo day as though nothing had happened. I used to abandon all hope for a healthy living plan if the slightest little thing went wrong, not any more!
  8. Moving/travelling makes it tough to maintain good nutrition and exercise. Looks like you've done quite well despite this, good job. Also, paleo thanksgiving sounds interesting. If I was in charge of that, I'd probably just do something boring like a turkey and a mountain of vegetables. I look forward to the photos!
  9. Sounds like you are both doing well even through tricky times Personally, everything seems to be going okay for me at the moment. I'm playing plenty of Dodgeball which keeps me happy and I'm either jogging or doing basic circuits when I'm not on the court.
  10. Start of week four (week two for me). Still going strong, buddies?
  11. I hope you feel better soon. I guess it's time to work on the life goal and maybe start thinking up a challenge for the new year until you feel better?
  12. So my first week is just about over and so far nothing has gone wrong with my challenge, a perfect week! Exercise (7/7): Monday- Dodgeball Tuesday- Dodgeball Wednesday- Beginner bodyweight workout Thursday- Running Friday- Running Saturday- Beginner bodyweight workout Sunday- Running A note on the beginner bodyweight workout: It's tough. Honestly, if you can get through 3 circuits without stopping, you are in good physical shape. I needed breaks between circuits and occasionally between the squats. Nutrition(7/7): Paleo is good. I'm saving sweet potatoes, fruit and nuts for when I feel depleted but I didn't need much at all this week (save one sweet potato on Wednesday). I mainly ate lean meats and vegetables (lots). Obviously, Sunday isn't over just yet but I feel confident enough to say I won't break paleo today. Sleep: (7/7): Not much to say here. I slept lots, and it helped lots. Side quest- Chess (7/7): There are 10 levels of difficulty on the chess game I am using. I have scored 3 checkmates so far, so I'm on the 4th level now. It's nice to have a bit of daily mental stimulation. I feel accountable just having to post my progress on my thread. It's a good system. To more perfect weeks!
  13. Welcome Beebah, I would advise you not to move too fast. Start with lighter weights (not too light but not heavy for you) or bodyweight exercises to learn good form and begin to prepare your musculoskeletal system for the heavier stuff. During those months you can also concentrate on learning/experimenting with nutrition, because as others have already said, diet is pretty important for losing fat. 3 months is a very short part of your life. Just enjoy the process and how healthy living makes you feel
  14. Welcome to the forum, I hope you enjoy your time here! As for your question, have you tried actually measuring your body fat percentage (the cheap ways like callipers and tape measures)? This would give you a better idea of whether you are making progress. You say that your muscles are toning and I think that this may be a good indicator that you are losing fat as fat loss happens a lot quicker than muscle gain. Regardless, 6 months of living healthily is definitely something to be proud of, well done!
  15. Good to know it's all going well Norrat! May this be the first challenge of many for you.
  16. Hey Anathema, Looks like your challenge is still going well. Hope you have a nice thanksgiving and you stick to your nutrition goal. Keep it up! (Sweet profile pic by the way, very Batman )
  17. Nice work kingclumsy. I just googled roller derby, sounds really cool (I do love me some obscure sports). Keep it up!
  18. Hi everyone, I started my first challenge today (barely early enough for it to count). Can I join your group please? I promise to be as Batman as humanly possible and encourage you all to do the same!
  19. Hi Sarah, You probably won't want to hear this, but you should stop exercising when ill (even if it's minor). Just carry on eating properly and drink lots of water. I also find that stressing about it causes me to be ill for longer, so try to stay calm as there is nothing much you can do about it once it has started. It must be frustrating to be ill for that long, personally I'd go and see my doctor just in case. Hope you feel better soon!
  20. Hello fellow Brits. I'm from Essex myself and live there currently.
  21. Hey, great job so far. It seems like the druids would be lucky to have you with your yoga prowess. Oh, and thanks for the tasty sounding paleo recipe, I need to go find some almond butter now!
  22. Welcome aboard Tamasauras, Those are some good goals. Stick with them and you'll be off to a great start!
  23. Nice work SidderK. Sounds like you are building a solid foundation for becoming a capable assassin. What song are you learning on keyboard?
  24. Hey Thrima, Great job so far. When you get through the this starvation diet, you'll definitely have the iron will of a monk! Also, I came here expecting a cute dog, and I wasn't disappointed.
  25. Thank you both for the support! My goals are going pretty well. I have now put a grading system in place to make my goals more measurable and make me more accountable!
