  1. You laughed because you were there. You know what trouble will occur if we utter that name. Worse than naming Voldemort. It shall remain the stalk that shall not be named. Sent from my CPH1725 using Tapatalk
  2. My Emmy had to leave one of her big teddies with me whilst she is at camp. I promised to take good care of him. Each day I took photos of Orange Ted doing stuff and sent them to her. #parentingdoneright Sent from my CPH1725 using Tapatalk

  5. Food porn. Mid morning snack that should cover at least two serves of veggies. Two small carrots, some sliced mushrooms, a pickled onion, around a dozen stuffed olives and one stick of the nameless vegetable. With a bit of corn relish dip for the stalk that shall not be named. 6. Considering the dozen or so stove tops I have used over years, both gas and electric, the only constant is me, so I will accept the fault for not being able to cook rice well. I will have to hunt down a rice cooker though, I used one of those with a reasonable amount of success. Sent from my CPH1725 using Tapatalk
  7. You are in need of my old friend, the positivity shark. You are doing a damn great job, you are amazing. We all believe in you. You are an inspiration to me. Hugs. Sent from my CPH1725 using Tapatalk

  9. From the perspective of the Heathen it is our stories being retold that truly guarantees our immortality. After we die all that remains of us is the stories in the memories of family and friends. Take the stories we have shared here in this thread. Quotes from friends, a tale of dinner with family, these are their lives remembered. So your oral historian project is an awesome idea. Fitting in with an ancient oral tradition that goes back millennia. Sent from my CPH1725 using Tapatalk
  10. A friend of my Dad used to say "It's a tough life if you don't weaken." He always used to say it to me when he saw me relaxing with a cuppa and a book. He used to be in a military unit during world war 2. He and his mates would jump out of airplanes and then spend six weeks (or so) working their way back to Allied lines. Later the unit became known as the British SAS. Always an interesting saying to my mind. Reminding us to "weaken" and enjoy the simple pleasures in life. Otherwise life will become tough. Coming from a man who spent several years in the jungles of Asia behind Japanese lines, I think it is something worth remembering. Sent from my CPH1725 using Tapatalk
  11. Update time, last week was a wash out due to the lurgy. The second half of September sucks these days. To many anniversaries. It was this time in 2012 that I met Bec and the kids for the first time. In 2015 I asked her to marry me. 2017 we got married. Sigh. The kids go on the Country Hope time out for life camp this time of year. Third term school holidays. Which is why we planned everything for this time of year. Edited to change the year I got engaged to Bec. 2015, not 2016 d'oh. Sent from my CPH1725 using Tapatalk
  12. Yeah, I can handle beans quite well. The drawback is my Theo hates them. So I then have to make different meals for him. Going to look at some different recipes and see what I can do. The rice is definitely a far healthier option than pasta. Shame I am crap at cooking rice. Lol. Thirty years of cooking and I still struggle with rice. My favourite recipe is a chorizo bean stew. A can of beans, 1onion, couple of cloves of garlic, 2 potatoes, 2 chorizo sausages, beef stock, can of crushed tomatoes, then paprika, cumin, tumeric and coriander seed powder to taste. Chili is optional. Cans are standard 420g. Makes about 4 serves. Sent from my CPH1725 using Tapatalk
  13. Thank you. I truly needed to hear that today. Just remember, "A wizard is never late, they arrive precisely when they need to be there." Sent from my CPH1725 using Tapatalk
  14. Yay depression. Hugs, well done on your win today. Sent from my CPH1725 using Tapatalk
  15. Here we are Tuesday of week two. I have developed the lurgy. Phlegm in my lungs, snotty nose headache, croaky voice and general feeling crappy. I have had to push past my pain and illness to look after the kids and tidy Bec's house. Diet continues to be crappy with bread and pasta every day since my last update. This not having enough money is killing my diet. A packet of pasta costs a dollar, add a couple of handfuls of veggies and that is a meal for about $1.50. At the moment dairy is one of my main sources of protein. Which is seriously not good. With my lurgy, I dont feel up for anything beyond looking after my kiddos. Sent from my CPH1725 using Tapatalk
  16. I am glad that you found value in my words. Sent from my CPH1725 using Tapatalk
  17. Good to see you here mate. Do what you can, heal yourself. Sent from my CPH1725 using Tapatalk
  18. Update for the week. So far only one day without bread or pasta. Four serves of fruit this week, on four different days. No exercising either. I got back home Wednesday. Sorted a couple of appointments out yesterday. Including a house inspection. I was going to attend today's climate strike. But this morning Bec changed plans on me. So I had to drive to Cootamundra and back instead, to bring the kids to my place. On Monday she is going to Sydney with Elaina, who has to catch up with her pain team. The original plan was me droving out Saturday morning and staying until Bec got back from Sydney. But she decided that she needed a break before going. Sigh. Still I get time with my gorgeous kids. Shame my knee didn't cope with the two and a half hours of driving. At least I have my knee brace to help support my knee. Sent from my CPH1725 using Tapatalk
  19. There was an actual Emu war in Australia. The emus won. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emu_War This is probably the origin of the Aussie curse; "May your chooks (chickens) all turn into emus and kick yer dunny (toilet, particularly an outside toilet) down." 22. Hey@Xena, to clarify I need to complete the Diploma course. I did help a friend as part of my course. I need to have so many pro bono hours up in order to obtain my qualification. I do plan to use the id card business to fund the life coaching business. Realistically I can do both side by side as they are both "work from home" businesses. So I can have them work around each other. Sent from my CPH1725 using Tapatalk
  23. Way to go on the 10k. Great job mate. Sent from my CPH1725 using Tapatalk
  24. They look good@Sloth the Enduring. I was planning on a bit of a search to see what I could find. Sent from my CPH1725 using Tapatalk
  25. Thank you@Morag always glad to have your company. @jedi_mind, generally I do my own meditation. I base mine on the runic meditations as discussed by Edred Thorsson. Much of his work fell out of favour within Heathen/Asatru circles, about 20 years ago. Mainly due to his membership with the Temple of Set and some socio-political views. However I have found the practices useful for me. They formed the foundation of my spiritual practices for the past 25 odd years. So I will return to those. Sent from my CPH1725 using Tapatalk
