  1. Sundry distractions and lurgies and general fuckarounditis have imperiled my gainz. Redo!
  2. When I hear "toxins" and special coffee available here for just £€$, I get suspicious. But the coffee.. I'm intrigued. (protip: places like GNC usually have 200mg caffeine pills so you can test your tolerance the fun way. Shakes and nausea are common caffeine side effects and there's no mystical toxins in pure caff).
  3. And when I say toy-simple to fly... I think this little girl was 4 years old. Forthright And Adventurous - she had a faceplant scab right on her nose, and that speaks well for a future of mayhem. The shot is just a framegrab from the nose-cam's recording.
  4. I have a parrot ar drone; toy-simple to fly but limited payload. There's a whole load of models up - lots of dji phantoms, f450's and so on, but they kinda say get a toy quad first and crash that a bit. Winding back, I just got a tiny hubsan x4 to play with for skills. Drones are like bicycles, there's no end of money you can spend on fancy ones. And that's before gimbals, fpv gear... 5. I get to be the other kind of photo nerd: I take ordinary photos with simple kit, but take it to the water or hang it off kites or lately a little quadcopter to get shots from places that are impossible otherwise. And I'd just about got the hang of it when I crashed it into a tree where it lurked for a couple of weeks -- which is why I don't dare spend lots on the camera part! Here's a couple of nice ones.
  6. QoB, the sizing tips are especially useful - I have great splodgy wide bear feet.
  7. Momo... kick-ass squatting! Rooks... big guy big squat club, I got 25 so you better beat that. :-) Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  8. Heavy squats, which is 150 for doubles plus other bits. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  9. Irony: I'm now thinking about some proper weightlifting shoes. My wallet has been bad and must be punished.
  10. Volume bench, lots of good stuff. Weird guts turnover, might be unrelated.
  11. 62? Respect. Sent from my XT1032 using Tapatalk
  12. ..speed deadlift, death. Contemplating a pair of lifting shoes. Sent from my XT1032 using Tapatalk
  13. That's why the trainer called it a "rep-suck challenge" at the end.
  14. This video did the rounds recently: it shows a powerlifter, weightlifter, strongman and bodybuilder competing at bodyweight barbell squats for five minutes. Go watch, it's fun: ...of course I had to try on squat volume day. I managed 25 reps, and I swear I saw Jesus and Cthulhu in the car park. Eesh. My excuse is that I'm 115kg (and not all power-producing mass!). I just know you nerds can do better. Right?
  15. Das skvat. 130x8, then a 5-minute bodyweight rep-suck challenge. Got 25, saw Jesus and Cthulhu in the car park, burned out for the rest of the session.
  16. Speed bench: 70 x 4's, paused and explosive, followed by lots of dumbbell work. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  17. Nerd trifecta: Middle-Earth, space and fanart: Fans are using Outerra to do very shiny things: http://www.fastcodesign.com/3025558/what-middle-earth-would-look-like-from-space#1
  18. Cube 1/1, heavy deadlift: 5x2 180kg/400# , snatch grip, various rows. Damn, it's good to be back.
  19. Cheap converse clones! I use Lee Cooper, which are about £10 here (real converse are way way more, like £50). You are basically looking for a flat non-squishy sole and a canvas upper.
  20. Gotta add TGU's as a finisher, I think. One thing to add in the "abs" debate - a bit of flexibility work doesn't go amiss. I do very little and am as flexible as an angry wardrobe (a WARdrobe). Most of the traditional ab stuff involves moving around usefully.
  21. A lot of the time, when I miss a rep while pulling heavy, that's me done for the session: it's nailed there. I put it down to psychology as much as anything physical. The damn thing broke my "focused savagery" groove.
  22. Back yesterday, legs today, really missing big heavy stuff and getting fired up for another round of powerlifting training. Got my mojo back!
  23. Lower body power day Squat 150 3x3; Deadlift to two 205 singles. Heavy leg press, GHR and calf raises. Also pushups 22, 21 and 20 to catch up on the Challenge. Feeling good!
  24. PHAT upper body power day, big rows and dumbbell presses. Nice chat with a powerlifter running Sheiko.
