  1. I haven't seen Gravity yet. Though i understand its a captivating movie. Need to turn that off. Working out would be great!
  2. Who has 2 thumbs, a kettlebell, and is killin' it? Thom does! (Apologies to Thom if one of his thumbs was amputated without me knowing it.)
  3. 60 reverse squats over 2 sets of 30 today. Total of 90 for the week. I just included them in my body weight workout today. Hope everyone is having a good day. I didn't get much sleep but I didn't die at work. Go me....and you guys too. Go you guys.
  4. Thanks Puma & 7! This is a great trip! Day 59 (Holy crap tomorrow is 60!) Get Fit: You know it! Get Strength: 2 BWW circuits: 2 x 30 reverse squats (lookin at you Knights o' GSPC) 2 x 15 Push ups 2 x 20 lunges 2 x 30 dumb bell rows 2 x 30 second planks 2 x 30 10 lb weighted jumping jacks (these feel amazing on my shoulders!) Get Health: Last of the beef stew for lunch, and a beach club unwich, no mayo from Jimmy Johns (My wife wanted noodles n' company and I wasn't about to go in there. I would've broke) Get Rest: Did not get 7 hours of sleep. Blërg! And I finished installation 2 of my story. When I started at the beginning of the challenge I thought it'd be fun to do a Kingdom Hearts treatment to fantasy. So it'll have Asura (from my favorite game) mixed with whatever race everyone else is. I intend to cross paths with others on the forums. No clue who yet, but don't expect much logic or continuity. Its just on the fly writing. Fun stuff. Hope you like it. It is on my challenge.
  5. Edited post for week 1 results with story. Thought it would be fun to include some people I've met on NF. If anyone following me doesn't know Lycan Thom, he is a champ of a ranger. I took a guess that he was referring to Lycans from Underworld with respect to his race. If I was wrong Thom, my bad. You're a werewolf in my story For those who are completely lost, a lot of the terminology is from the Guild Wars universe. I played GW1 and currently play GW2 regularly. It is a great MMORPG that is buy to play (no subscription fee, just buy the game) and they have content updates every 2 weeks or so. I have been playing a year and have spent well over $10 a month on in-game currency and micro transactions. There are no pay to win mechanics. And you can use in-game earned gold to buy gems which is the currency you buy with money. Admittedly it is a time consuming route, but it is possible. It isn't a perfect mmo, but its the closest I've found to it. And I bring this up cause there was an update this week that introduced a new Elder Dragon (A huge-ass dragon) I'll explain 2 terms mentioned in this part of my story unique to Guild Wars. Norn: Race of humanoids twice as tall, or more, as humans who follow animal spirits. Once a devout follower of a specific spirit, they may take the form of the spirit, i.e. Wolf. Bookah: Term used by Asura to refer to anyone who isn't an Asura, and therefore a lesser species intellectually. On average the term is meant as insulting. You can look up any other terms that confuse you on the Guild Wars 2 wiki.
  6. This was very inspiring to look through. Looking forward to when we all look like that
  7. Hi guys. i disappeared for a bit. But I'm back now. I did start off with 30 reverse squats today. Tomorrow is a strength training day so I will try to get a few circuits in. Cheers to all the reverse squats everyone is doing. I'll have part 2 of my story posted on my challenge tomorrow night. Welcom Andador
  8. Week 1 results: Get Fit: C - 4 days of exercise Get Strength: A – 3 strength training workouts Get Health: B – Little too much pizza on the weekend. Hoping to do better next week. Get Reel: F – Only animated for 45 min this week. Get Rest: 3/7 nights with 7+ hours of sleep. The Familiar Stranger Skigh followed the trail of Leche into a nearby mountain range. As he hiked along the only clear trail he got the feeling he was being watched. Unsettling sounds caught his attention from time to time but he never could decipher the source. Out of paranoia, Skigh threw a dagger in the direction of a sound into a large shrub he had just passed. This caused whatever was hiding to rattle the whole bush as it dodged the knife. An angry voice accompanied the commotion. “Whatever you runts are, you have as much manners as you do height!†A rather large canine creature walked into view from behind the bush. Skigh was startled to see something so familiar. “You should have spoken up sooner rather than follow me in the shadows like a skelk. I could use the aid of a Norn, especially a follower of Wolf. I'm tracking another Asura through these hills.†Skigh did not expect to see a race from his world in this land. “What are you doing in this strange land? How did you get here from Tyria?†Skigh demanded. “What in the world is a Norn?†The wolf shapeshifted to the appearance of a human with a bewildered look on his face. “I am a Lycan. And I don't follow anyone. Especially with a name as boring as 'Wolf'. And I've never heard of Tyria, much less heard of it. And why anyone would follow that sour grape that came this way is beyond me. She has quite the mouth on her.†Skigh squinted curiously at this new acquaintance before him. Clearly he was not one of the nomadic giants from his own world. Though he was just about as intelligent as a Norn, he was far too short.. And no human in Tyria had ever shape shifted into a wolf before. “What is your name Lycan?†Skigh asked politely. If manners were what he wanted, he would give them long enough to find out which direction Leche went. “Thom. I'm a ranger for the Rebellion!†“My name is Skigh. I have heard of this rebellion you speak of. Yet I cannot tell what you are rebelling from.†“Who knows? Seems like every week there's some kind of new evil sorcery, demon, or tyrant trying to raise a ruckus. Anyone who agrees to help someone else overcome these enemies of the land is part of the rebellion.†“Well, that 'grape' as you called her, has poisoned my krewe for years! It's a subtle toxin that keeps you weak without you knowing any different. If left free, she may continue her devious plot in this land as well.†“Are you daft! Why are you pip squeaks taking poison for? Wha...†“Wolf!.... Bookah!.... Whatever you are! I assure you that what we lack in physical stature is comparatively miniscule to the advantage of intelligence any Asura would have over you! So if you wish for me to keep my manners, I expect you to mind yours. Any other Asura would have clipped your tendons before enduring this many shots at their height. And to answer your question. Leche promised us the stuff was good for us. Now, are you going to tell me what direction she went?â€
  9. Been MIA for a while. Need to report on the last 4 days. Day 55 (Saturday) Get Fit: No exercise Get Strength: No workout Get Health: Had Pizza for my exception meal on the weekend. Get Rest: Negative on the 7 hours Day 56 (Sunday) Get Fit: Nope again Get Strength: Lazy weekend, sadly. Get Health: Some leftover Pizza, but more than I ought to have. So I'm docking a grade. Get Rest: No Day 57 (Monday) Get Fit: Nope again Get Strength: Meant to work out. It just didn't come to me. Get Health: I had wheat on my lunch. I was hoping our company cafeteria would have some lettuce to wrap a sandwich in but they said no. So I opted for a pita bread rather than regular bread. Made the sandwich smaller portioned so 1/2 of a win, but still loss of grade. The sandwich was a smoked turkey club (w/ bacon, avocado and pepper jack cheese which I didn't have removed since I was eating the pita) so it was worth it. For dinner we cooked a beef stew out of a paleo cookbook my wife bought. It was great! Get Rest: No. Bad weekend sleeping habits slipped into the week a little. Day 58 (Tuesday) Get Fit: I did go running for a mile when I got home from work. Finally broke the weekend funk. Get Strength: No strength training other than some reverse squats for a challenge with the other Knights of GSPC. (Got 30). Get Health: I WAS doing well. My boss even bought doughnuts this morning and I did not partake. Even though they sat out all day. I had leftover stew for lunch. Then near the end of the day our office has a little celebration for some promotions in our office. I didn't go, I kept working. But the our department director came and brought a huge piece of cake and put it on my desk. I had some, mostly for participation's sake. Our office gets a lot of food (rarely healthy stuff) and expects everyone to help out with eating it all. A little annoying when trying to eat healthy. Get Rest: YES! Finally broke bad weekend sleeping habits. So, I went a little crazy over the weekend with the "cheating". I'm not surprised. Or bummed about it. I did manage to go the whole week avoiding wheat and dairy. And this weekend I'll be less eager to go crazy. The cheat this weekend will probably be reduced to a single sandwich. And this isn't about being perfect. Its about permanent change over time. I knew I'd get back on the horse. After a weekend like that it's easy to think "i've blown it this much, i might as well give up." And that didn't enter my mind at all. Now I need to write the next installment of my story on my challenge.
  10. Day 54 Get Fit: +1 day workout Get Strength: I was a little limited on time today so I did 2 circuits that were a little more intense than usual. Warm - up: 5 min jogging in place, 5 min handstand practice (I held a 50 second wall plank probably 40" from the wall, and then a few more 20 second wall plank 36" from the wall)2 x 30 reverse squats (prep for my challenge next week with the Knights of GSPC)2 x 15 Knee Plyometric1 x 60 second plank! 1 x 30 second plank (I hit a minute! I was pleading for the end for a little bit there.)2 x 30 weighted jumping jacks (I held 10 lb weights in each hand and brought my arms up [kind of in a butterfly motion i think] to shoulder height. This made jumping jacks tough!)Get Health: Snacked on some pickles, had a Beach Club Unwich from Jimmy Johns, no mayo (a sandwich wrapped in lettuce works much better than a burger wrapped in lettuce) Went to costa vida for dinner. I got pork enchiladas with gluten free tortillas, no cheese. Great friday night meal. Get Rest: I got close to 8 hours of sleep last night!
  11. No. The coconut water doesn't come through on this smoothie. Strongest taste is strawberries and kind if the beats. Some say it gives it a sort flavor but to me it's very minimal. I will pm you the recipe.
  12. I am seeing this slowly start to happen. It gets easier to make better decisions each day.
  13. Thanks Seven. That was a great victory! Day 53 Get Fit: 90 minutes of basketball. good times. We had 7 tonight and still played half court. That is the number I like to start doing full court. Once a team has 4 it gets a little croweded, so my performance was less than inspiring. Barely hit any shots tonight. But I got tired. Get Health: (in no particular order) Protein style hamburger. (First time I've had a burger wrapped in lettuce. It was alright. Not my favorite, but I kept away from the bread.) Breakfast Smoothie (strawberries, beats, dates, cashews, coconut water, and i forget what else.) For dinner I went to CitizenKade's restaurant. It looks great! I had their house salad. First time having soy chicken. It was a stellar salad for sure! Get Rest: I did not get 7 hours of sleep last night. Editing my last post to include my "Get Rest" results for Monday night and Tuesday Night as well.
  14. I don't know what you guys are talking about, I've been doing this: Obviously that was a joke. Probably a bad one. Here is a good explanation of them: http://www.trainforstrength.com/ex-11.shtml CK, is this what you've been doing?
  15. Congrats again! I wasn't able to swing by the restaurant until after you had left. But I had the house salad. It was great! Hopefully I can come by and meet ya sometime.
  16. We expect pics of you doing jumping squats in the middle of the crowd.
  17. Keep this up and it'll be a long time before you have to stop picking up Miss 7 for hugs. Until she gets taller than you. Then you just need a box.
  18. Well done sticking to the diet even when its free. My office celebrates Pi day (3/14). That day won't be pretty.
  19. Hey Tommy, how's your week going? See anything good with the kids so far?
  20. Very nice on the wall planks. I did my first hand stand practice earlier this week. Right around 20 seconds my body couldn't figure out how to breathe in that position. I have no idea how far my hands were from the wall. I will have to measure next time. 4 minutes for a t shirt. Alright....have one ready for me next year.
  21. Mr Freeze takes a jab! But all he can do is merely injure Elastigirl's hand. He's so going down! Keep it up!
  22. Congrats on opening CK! I did the reverse squats today. Met a few new muscles I hadn't known before.
  23. Day 3 went much better. Workout was amazing. I think it pushed me as close to my limit as I should go, based on the energy I had today. If you hear crying about 9 hours from the time of this post, that is me waking up. (going to hurt so bad). I like the spreadsheet Joe. I would log my workouts in such a spreadsheet if one were made. As for Iceland, maybe do a few exercises before you go to bed. Simple stuff like push ups and squats. Just to keep the blood flowing. Have fun on that trip though.
  24. Thanks for the support! I am very excited to see the results of this. I've always hated the saying that diet is 80% of losing weight and exercise is 20%. Or whatever the numbers are. I always thought to myself that if I could eat what I want and just work out a ton that would be great! Sadly very few people have the time or energy to work out THAT much. I sure don't. This will be the first time I've ever cut bread and milk from my diet. I think the results will be great!
