  1. Your perseverance is astounding. Way to rock Thom! This last week was no fun. Glad its over. Home stretch. Let's hit it with a sprint!
  2. Thanks Thom! I'm back. Day 35 The path from the dark side is a rough one. Been a week since I exercised. I could only summon 2 bbww circuits. They were painful and rude but they were complete. Back to 3 circuits on Wednesday. The rough week has given me some perspective. I need to commit to a healthier diet for the next challenge. I was very bogged down by the food I was eating after going 3 weeks of eating healthier and avoiding the fast food. Going to spend the rest of this week trying to avoid meat altogether. Need lots of fruits and veggies. Exercise 2 x (20 squats 15 push ups 20 lunges 20 rows 30 second plank 30 jumping jacks) Eats: Avocado BLT for lunch. Tuna melt for dinner.
  3. This has been a rough week. I have bad scores all around. I'll have to do the grading tomorrow on my challenge. But Tomorrow is a new day and week. Gotta finish the challenge strong! Miss you guys! I'll post on all of your logs tomorrow!
  4. Day 28 Into the evil lair I gotta stop pulling the late shift on the bbww. Meant to do it earlier but TV held me off. But not for good. I think the fact that I didn't start until so late made this harder but I added 5 push ups! 3 x (20 squats 15 push ups 20 lunges 20 rows 30 second plank 30 jumping jacks). Food wise I had a pulled pork sandwich, no side. For dinner the Mrs. wanted Wendy's. Tonight was the first time I have been in Wendy's in 2014. Opting to try and be healthy I went with a chicken go wrap and chili. I ate the Go wrap but did not feel down with the Chili. It occurred to me that they use the same beef as their hamburger so I may as well have been having a classic. So I didn't eat the Chili. Made myself a chicken sandwich when I got home. My body will not appreciate those extra 5 push ups in the morning.
  5. Thanks for the encouragement and advice Storm. Week 4 results Active lifestyle - A - I hit 5 days of doing some kind of physical activity this week. Exercise - A - Thanks to my extra runs this week I feel great about how much exercise I did this week! Good Food - B - 1 meal that I feel I could/should have made a better decision on. Here's to an A for week 5! Life Quest - E - I did get 2 hours in. I got an hour and a half in early in the week and during my sleepless night I got another half hour in. Happy with what I've done. Must do better! Side Quest - Achieved this goal this week. I maybe played 2 hours during the week and played a few more hours Saturday. Much less than the week before.
  6. Day 27 I was hoping to get a run in today but that didn't happen. I spent some time stretching tonight so that was nice. I made myself a chicken sandwich for lunch and for dinner was Super Bowl food. It was a good spread. I managed to only eat 1 bacon wrapped smokie and kept the chips & dip to a minimum. Not a very exciting day. Off to grade my week in my challenge.
  7. Happy Birthday! Awesome job on the laps. I wish I had funds to access a pool. That would be wonderful to include in my weeks.
  8. All I can think is how great it would be to see some female Dwarves in The Hobbit 3. Nicely done on the mini challenge. Self awareness is always a plus.
  9. So stretching finally happened. If we had placed a bet on how amazing that was I'd be sending you $20 over paypal.
  10. Day 23, 24, 25 & 26 Undercover Mission: Mostly successful So I disappeared for a bit there. Based on the last few weeks not posting usually has been bad news. But this is not the case. It has been a long exhausting week. But as far as the mission goes I'm doing pretty well. Food: Every day this week for lunch I had a turkey sandwich except for Friday. Our cafeteria next door to my building had a Super Bowl Sampler. I got pork tacos, buffalo wings, and egg rolls. But I ended up not eating all of the egg rolls. Too heavy. Dinner Wednesday was a flat crust pizza cooked at home, Thursday was Subway (I got a chicken sandwich and avoided my fav spicy italian), Friday was Zupas, and tonight was chicken salad. For lunch today (Saturday) I did get a slice of pizza at Costco. But THAT is the only meal in my "evil" category that I've had all week! I'll be pretty stoked about that B on this goal tomorrow and will work hard for a full week next time. Although I will be at a Super Bowl party tomorrow. Going to have to be selective with my snacking. Physical Activity/Exercise: Wednesday was no activity. Long day at work. I was worn out. Ended up going to bed super early again. Tuesday I think I was asleep at 9:30 but woke up at 12:30 and didn't get back to sleep til 5 a.m. So Wednesday night I was out. Thursday I did get over an hour of basketball in. And because my older brother will never see this I'm going to brag. In our last game I was guarding him. I had his number. Many a pass blocked or taken away. Felt good. Friday I went out to a friends house right after work and didn't get back til late. The weight of the week kept me from doing a workout but I did decide to spend some time stretching. (Better late than never KarmaKeeper). And Saturday almost slipped by without any activity as well but I pulled another late shift BBWW! Around 11:30 I turned on Dr Horrible's Sing a Long and watched that while I waged my war. 3 x (20 squats, 10 push ups [This might go up this week], 20 lunges [these are where I'm noticing the most results], 20 rows, 30 [count it, 30!] second planks, 30 jumping jacks). After not getting doing that since Monday it felt great that A)I still rock it and I love how great I feel afterwards. Best drug ever. Feeling pretty good about this week in spite of a rough week at work. I stuck to the mission. At Zupas last night I did have a Dr Pepper. But holy smokes did that Dr Pepper taste great cause it was the only one I had all week. Far cry from the 1+ a day during the holidays. I think that will be the lead up to the boss fight of killing Dr Pepper. Save it for Friday night. I'm back. No "under cover missions" in the foreseeable future. Work should be much less stressful now that January is over.
  11. Day 22 Today was a pretty good day. Had a smoothie this morning, turkey sandwich for lunch, and a tuna melt for dinner. Before dinner I went on a run. Same run as a few days ago. 1 mile. I almost grabbed a pizza from Little Caesars for dinner. I was ready for one too. But I resisted. Pretty happy about that. I'm exhausted. Hope to go to bed super early.
  12. Also add 1.5 hours of animation to my week. Woohoo!
  13. Day 21 Zombies ate my pain meds Today was pretty good. Surprising as it is Monday. I had a carnation breakfast this morning and made myself a turkey sandwich for lunch (potato bread, turkey, spinach, avocado, and bbq sauce). When I got home from work I knew I had better work out right away or I'd excuse my way out of it. So I went running from Zombies for my warm-up which turned out to be 1/2 a mile. I was worried that I had worn myself out too much to do a full 3 circuits. I just took my time but I rocked 'em out! 3 x (20 squats, 20 push ups, 20 lunges, 20 rows, 20 second plank, 30 jumping jacks). The lunges are slowly getting bearable. Even with the 1/2 mile jog I still completed the third circuit at a consistent pace. And for din din we're having stroganoff. And I am going to love it. Mid challenge weight 224.8 lbs. One foot in front of the other.
  14. Awesome work on the weights. Looking forward to rocking out the rest of the challenge! At this rate maybe you'll have that 5x5 by then. Way to commit through a foot injury. Glad you're ready to hit the ground running.
  15. "Every day is a new day to be awesome." Sounds like something Barney Stinson may have said but I just came up with with it.
  16. Use this forum as proof that you, sir, deserve a day off.
  17. Week 3 Results Active lifestyle - B - 4 days of physical activity Exercise - A - Slightly less than 3 hours by my calculation but this is the closest I've been to it this week. I'm giving extra credit to getting out and running tonight to make sure I fulfilled my daily quest! Good Food - C - 2 meals this week I feel I should have made better choices on. Life Quest - E - 1 hour but I set this goal in the middle of this week and getting that first hour in was a great victory! Side Quest - More than 9 hours for sure. I am determined to cut back this week and make some headway on my walk cycle. Half way through challenge 1! These have been a very influential 3 weeks on my life. Looking forward to seeing myself down the road!
  18. Day 20 "OOOOOHHHHH WE'RE HALF WAY THERE..." Today was a pretty chill day. I was home all day. Foods was some cereal and tuna casserole for dinner. I did some more reading on the star wars workout NF just posted this month. At first read I thought it was something to do for rest days from a strength workout. Upon further reading I realized it is an alternate strength workout. So I may work on the handstand thing each day and do the rest of it once a week in place of one of my BBWW's. Cause I want to be a Jedi. So, tonight I decided to go on a run for my exercise. Nothing too impressive. "Zombies, Run!" told me I ran a mile. I suppose if I'm going to go on random runs I better take a page out of CitizenKade's and Thom's book and track my walk through Middle-Earth. So, mile 1. Hooray.
  19. Thanks Kade! I know. It is crazy to me how dedicated I have been to this. Just by changing the way I think about my quest every day. My wife will suggest we go somewhere to eat and I'll respond with "That goes against my quest. We can't go there." A month ago there is no way I was committed enough to good health to exercise at midnight. Especially that much of a workout. Much appreciation for the invitation to NF on geekshow. (My log is 2 pages now! WIN!)
  20. Hey Seven, keep up the good work. Enjoy that time off too.
  21. You're doing awesome. Keep it up Teagarden. Am I reading right? You're making yourself a dress?
  22. Congrats on the successful close. Hope the reopening comes quick.
