  1. Beekeeping, too? So nifty! I love some fresh from the bees honey. Maybe I'll add that to my list of cool at home things to once I am not in an apartment. Glad things got back to normal for you! But most importantly:
  2. WTH. How am I this late to your thread?!?! Sweet jesus. It's AMAZING. I don't know Pokemon all that well (read - at all) but this makes me want to. Also, can I be you when I grow up? Because swoooooooooooooooooooon. Yes, you can whine. I have the sads for you but will hope all the PT and yoga and everything will work together to get you healed up and lifting again soon! How sweet it will be!
  3. I'm not going to lie. It was literally the worst. No more sickness! I want to liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive! Ya know... I'm starting to think Honey Boo Boo might be like... my soul sister... and I'm not sure how I feel about that... ^Actual footage of me^ Thanks! It very slowly returned, but in true Hermy fashion I am now able to eat an entire chicken in one sitting again. All is right with the world. **** Feeling better!! Thursday was roughish. Friday, I don't recall.... Saturday I got back to business as usual. There was a workout Saturday. I've decided not to post my workouts in my thread to help me maintain the "taking a step back" mindset. Otherwise, I get too focused on what I'm lifting. Saturday's workout was a little rough, but I did better than I thought I would. Then I spent the day introducing Boyf to The Hunger Games. He's suuuuuuuuper addicted. RE Goals: No designated core work - womp. 1/4 pull aparts 1/3 45 minute walks, though I did end my workout on Saturday with a 20 minute walk and that kind counts Lots of shoulder mobility No yoga Here's to a new week full of actual goal achievement and no sickness!
  4. Nicely done with all that target hitting! I'm glad you're finding good recipes to play with. That was something I struggled with when I did aip. I actually made my favorite easy aip dish yesterday - breakfast hash/skillet (bacon, onion, kale, mushrooms, sausage [from farmer's market so it's not all full of crap]) sauteed in a skillet and consumed. So good. So easy. And so versatile. This was also my favorite way to use up left over salmon (sub salmon for sausage).
  5. Wait. How the hell have I not subbed this thread yet? Biscuits! Anyhow, it's 13 pages later and I'm not caught up - but hiiiiiiiiii!
  6. Congrats on the new job!! So exciting! And I'm glad you've got a good feeling about coach! Fingers crossed it all works well
  7. Awww kitteh face! Glad you're back to business as usual!
  8. Yay! The Tinney lives! Fingers crossed!
  9. Thanks <3 <3 HIHIHI! Thanks! I'll take all the recommendations I can get. Sometimes, even if the moves are similar or the same, just doing them in a different order or combination can make all the difference, ya know? Hay gurl haaaaaaay! Thank you! I knew there was a reason you were so awesome No kicking necessary! I've been fairly MIA - ninja skills or something But thanks! I'm glad to have you lurking! *** Okay, so it's been a week. Thursday, I hit the gym for some conditioning type stuff (I call it that, but I don't think conditioning is an accurate description... anyhow) - something like skiers, farmer walk, med ball slam, farmer walk, rinse and repeat for 20 minutes. Friday night I met up with friends and ate and chatted. I got 2 of 4 pull aparts for the week, 4 45 minute + walks, some shoulder mobility, 1 core workout. Saturday morning I woke up at 2 am and proceeded to get incredibly sick for a really, really, really long time. SO yeah. I've been home with a stomach flu all week. Today is the first day back to work. Not going to the gym tonight since I didn't eat for a few days and I'm still working on that whole eating thing. Obviously, I have done none of the goal work thus far. Picking back up soon, I hope, though!
  10. Ohai. Ima play catch up now... Dude. Seriously. I can't get into it. I tried, but no. Ha! This! I hate it in yoga, but even more at the dentist. I can't respond! And I love cleanings (yes, I'm a weirdo) so I kind of want to just sit there and enjoy it. It's like a massage for my mouth. No talky! A truer statement has not been uttered. Blueberries and I have birthdays within days of each other. And we were chatting about how literally 10 years ago it would have been out all night drinking and fun. Now, we were both in bed at like 9:15 after spending a relaxing day with our SOs. Times they are a'changin'. The amount of jealousy I feel right now is reaching an unsafe level. (also, Happy Belated!!! how did I miss it?!?!?) *** As per usual, your workouts are awesome and I regularly think, "Girl, you cray and I like it." Keep it up!
  11. Ouch! Sorry about the pec. But I've heard donuts have healing properties sooo there's that.
  12. Ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm (nomnomnomnom - wait, shoot, that's not right) Oh yas! Helllllllllllllo!! Squee! Thank you! Well, when I posted, I wasn't sure since my trial of this yoga site I'm obsessed with ran out and I had been using a lot of videos on there. BUT! I found a new groupon for it so I bought that and rejoined. Now I have all the mobilities! OR, more clearly: Largely these short yoga videos I have saved on my favorite yoga site, but at the gym I do some good mobility wod moves. I mostly need to focus on opening the chest and and ungluing the front shoulders as well as building up the tiny back shoulder muscles. Thanks, boo! ohaaaaaaaaaaaaai! **** So, I've been terrible with the updates. In that, there have been none. Here they come: Week 1: I started near the end but the week was a wash anyway. I did very little. I did get my walking in.. but otherwise... yeah, no. Week 2: - Walking: 2/3 - Core: nada yet - ack - Shoulder mobility: 2/3 - Pull aparts: 1/4 - ack! - Yoga: 1/1 I also added a piece to the shoulder unfrak goal now that I know i have access to the video I like. There have been workouts - Saturday was deadliftapalooza, Monday was squatapalooza. Tuesday: How I spent the day: **** In other news - I'm recovering really well these days and I'm glad. It's what most reminds me that my current plan is going well. Huzzah.
  13. Speaking of yoga.... I fell in love with this website -myyogaworks [dot] com - there is currently a groupon for 6 months free access for $12 or 1 year for $22. It's an awesome site.
  14. Late to the game, but looks like quite a few warriors are zen partying with the Druids this round. Well, add me to the list of warriors needing a step back to get stuff in order. The long and short of it is: went too hard for too long, body flipped out in many ways. Now I'm actively trying to reduce stress - mental/emotional and physically and focus recovery. So, I've dropped my lifting workouts down to 2x/week and I want to focus on some areas I've been neglecting. I went back and forth on where to post this, but decided on the druids so I could keep the right perspective and remember why I'm doing what I'm doing instead of getting caught up in the warrior "lift all the things!" mentality that I find so enticing. Goal: Core 3x week Goal: Unfrak my shoulders - shoulder mobility/yoga 3x week minimum -100 pull aparts 4x week -Shoulder prehab vid 1x week minimum Goal: Walk 45 minutes or more at least 3x week Goal: Yoga 1x/week - any length, any intensity
  15. In for idea stealing and gifs. obvs.
  16. Another warrior gone druid?!?! There's an invasion happening and I like it! Love your challenge - glad you're focusing on getting all the hormone stuff in check again. Hormones can be such a PITA. I didn't catch up entirely b/c I'm not yet caffeinated so forgive me if I'm redundant - but re yoga styles: I do a variety but find vinyasa, yin, and restorative my favorites. Yin and restorative are a lot like mwod where you hold your positions for a while. I like vinyasa because you can alter the level of intensity to suit you but the flow always gets the muscles warm and helps the relaxed and open feeling.
  17. I found you! Love me some NL challenge. This whole challenge screams gently whispers peace of mind.
