  1. Hi there!! Here we go... I'm a newbie but I'm jumping in with both feet and ready to take on a six week challenge!! I've already started a slow transition to the paleo lifestyle and haven't found it as difficult as I thought- and my boyfriend is on board, so I've got a great supporter who cooks better than I do!! MAIN QUESTI want to lose 8% body fat by April 2014, with better energy and to be proud of my hard work!! I am currently at 34% and am worried about my health. It's not as obvious, because I'm tall (5'11") and it's mostly around my middle, but I certainly feel it. My energy is low and I can't yet walk the 4 flights of stairs in my office building without a break (and some very attractive wheezing). I'm ready to get fit, and have energy to SPRINT up those stairs!! Current Specs Weight: 174lbs Body Fat %: 34% Body Fat (lbs): 59.16lbs Tools - Body fat calipers - Scale - Body weight workouts -The paleo diet! Quest Missions - Do the body weight workout 3x a week - Walk at least 15 minutes EVERY day - Transition to a paleo diet Walking Grading: 7x / week: A 5x / week: B 3x / week: C 1x / week: D 0x: F Training Grading: 4x / week: A 3x / week: B 2x / week: C 1x / week: D 0x: F Paleo Diet Plan: Week 1: Cut out all dairy (I don't eat that much, but the select things I do like coffee creamer or butter I tend to OD on once I start) Week 2: No craft beer. Or any beer. Period. Week 3: No processed sugars after lunchtime, no grains after 3pm. Week 4: No processed sugars after breakfast, no grains after lunchtime. No diet soda after lunchtime. Week 5: No processed sugars, period. No more diet soda. Week 6: Only meat, veg, and fruit!! Motivation I am headed to Istanbul in April for a very close friend's wedding, and I want to look more fit and healthy in those photos than I do right now... Plus I want to have the energy to see EVERYTHING!!!
  2. Hi everyone... I'm giving this thing a go. Kinda nervous, since this is a new lifestyle, so I figured I might as well make it public to try to cement the commitment!! It started a couple weeks ago when I began feeling really awful- dizzy, uncomfortable, faint, weak. Couple this with always feeling uncomfortable in my own skin, as well as after every meal, and things haven't been so good. THe doctor told me to go off simple carbs (bread, pasta, etc) for a month and see how I feel... And in just a week I have stopped getting dizzy, stopped feeling bloated, stopped having digestive trouble... Pretty much everything I've been suffering from for weeks, if not YEARS!! I've even had people ask me if I've lost a significant amount of weight (I haven't... just a couple pounds) but I guess with the reduction in bloating I must look way thinner... I don't hate that, though I love more the fact that it makes me feel good!! So, I thought, let's give this thing a shot. Giving up grains really hasn't been too much of a struggle- with the way they make me feel, I'm happy to get rid of them. And I've been mostly dairy free for some time. BUT, sugar is a killer. Those cravings absolutely destroy me!! But I figured I'd jump in and give it a shot. To better fitness (and less digestive misery) in 2014! Any advice on getting rid of the sugar cravings most welcome... Thanks!
