  1. anybody got an idea how much the monthly fee will be? would have been cool to sign up before the new year!
  2. Well 5th full day eating primal food, lost 9lbs in weight (ok its most likely water weight but it still feels good!) going well so far but this is sometimes where the self sabotage kicks in, i tell myself i will start again on monday or something silly like that! out of the blue i got an email about 3 days ago and it said one of the most common causes of self sabotage is fear! then it give me something to think about at the bottom of the page it said .... so having thought about this, its clear to me that if i succeed in this challenge then things will change but if i fail then things will stay the same. This has kind of prepared me for the self defeating thoughts etc because i know its just my mind being afraid of the change! the email couldnt of came at a better time. hope everyone is doing great on your 6 week challenge:)
  3. Thanks AshPS you have 2 girls, thats great! kids really put whats important into perspective, 3 boys here i tried to keep it simple as possible to make sure i stick to it like glue! no workout goals simply because my new job feels like a workout in itself lol. I have a funny feeling your weather is nicer than mine at the minute! but i like the cold mornings and even the rain is quite nice too (i live in scotland) all the best to you Thank you Luckystar813! i thought simple was best this time because in the past i have set myself up to fail! wishing you the best too Thanks Archon! its a shame alcohol didnt have many more health benefits!, im gonna try and get used to the forums a bit more kinda lost my online navigational skills over the years lol. The best of luck to you too
  4. Third time lucky in a different job and a different place in my head too, so here goes! Main Quest eat primal / paleo diet, lose weight and feel great! How im gonna get there.... watch my portions, simplify the food i eat to save time, ditch the alcohol (for the 6 weeks at least!), keep on cycling to work and back, use this forum as my online diary acountability thing, practise mindfullness. Why? mainly i want to look and feel good and be the great role model for my kids that i know i can be. good thoughts to everyone on your challenges
  5. thanks everyone well today is day 4 ive stuck to eating primal and i feel good despite the odd craving for who knows what! and abit of carb flu as they call it! listened to meditation every night and made it to bed for around 9ish so al in all not doing to bad, i dont think i could of done it off my own back without the 6 week challenge so thanks
  6. Hi! this is the second challenge i have signed up for the first was over a year ago and i never fully prepared and fell at the first hurdle! a few things have changed since then... one thing is i have gained 20lbs, not so good! another thing to change though is i have went from eating an unhealthy vegetarian diet to toying with primal/paleo which is going to set me up for this challenge. main quest to lose 10% bodyweight initially over the coming months and become fitter and stronger in the process! how i will get to my goals using mini quests 1.eat 95% paleo/primal diet by preparing food ahead and using meal plans. 2. get to bed for 9pm and get up at 430am to give me enough sleep and to make a bulletproof coffee before starting work at 6am 3. listen to solfeggio meditation 5 out of 7 nights to keep me positive and stress free! 4.start incoperating some cyclying and beginner bodyweight workouts into my week 5. hit the weekend alcohol on the head! why? because i have sat about on my fat ass too long! I think my weight is contibuting to my self diagnosed social anxiety and most importantly i have got 3 beautiful children who deserve the best dad they can have good luck everyone on your challenge
  7. Hey, looks like a really solid plan you have set out there! I also started a challenge over a year ago but never got going! and was actually just wondering if i could post again in recruits and then i seen your post! I wish you the very best on this one.
  8. hi switzerland is the most beautiful place ive been too! sounds like you have lots of fight in you, great for your challenge! i wish you the best.
  9. hi good luck for your challenge its my first too and i thought of all the what ifs but we have got nothing to lose and everything to gain and as you say.. lets do this!
  10. hi, that was a great post to read really looks like you have it figured out, i wish you well on your challenge!
  11. hi great post, i am looking at losing weight and building muscle too and its great to see how others are going to tackle it. looks like you have a solid action plan and i wish you well! that adventure time gif is kind of hynotic haha!
  12. Thanks for having this great website, i have never felt this good about a challenge in years, usually i start of good for a few days with a new way of eating, cutting fat more exercise etc and then i usually talk myself out of it reverting back to my old unhealthy ways. Everything here makes total sense to me and i cant wait to get going! Main quest: lose weight and build muscle and become the dad i want my kids to see. Mission 1: do the beginner body weight workout 3 days per week and a sensible cardio workout 3 days per week Mission 2: get at least 7 hours sleep per night Mission 3: eat good real food (paleo sounds ideal if i didnt eat vegetarian) while staying within the calories given to me by myfitnesspal on the lose 2lb per week setting Wow it feels really good even just typing it out! I am lucky to have quite a manual job so that will give me a bit of exercise but the workouts on a night time will really help me. i am up early for work at 430am so need to get my ass to bed by 930 pm to get my 7 hours sleep! (no more late nights on xbox) I eat a pretty unhealthy vegetarian diet, which i plan to change with lots of fruit and vegetables and soy protein. Sticking with a calorie guide will help me when I forget to stop eating! Good luck on your quests everyone i hope you slay your dragons
  13. hi i signed up to the email list a few months ago and feel quite inspired by some of them especially the "hard hat" one. i am hoping some of you guys can convince me to sign up to the mens fitness 101 starting on january 1st! what is there that i cant get by just looking round this forum? i read some of the comments under the academy beta announcement page saying they paid and cant log in and some other stuff that was unanswered.... i am 32 years old 300lbs and 5'7" and would like to lose weight and get stronger and fitter with an ambition to join the army reserves, (extra money etc) i have 3 young kids and work full time so my time is quite limited too, but this new year i plan to change a bit for the better even if it means less xbox thanks for reading, neil.
