  1. I freakin' love human-readable logs. So much hydration. =D Keep up the momentum and beautiful creations!
  2. A bit more - "paleo" is a hilariously vague umbrella term for a seemingly endlessly diverse set of dietary choices that.. have just as many "reasons" to exist as there are instances of them. =P That in mind, if you like what you've read and from who you've read it, your best bet is to find a niche that qualifies itself as paleo and follow their rules. There's Mark Sisson, the Hartwigs, and Dr. Cordain. They all advocate slightly different things for different reasons. But, as with any diet, the whole point is that: if you eat clean, you'll probably benefit from it. Alternatively, you could just find a recipe blog that's prolific enough to pique your dietary interest (such as this one or this one) and just use their ideas for food. But, as others have said, don't get too worried about the details. Unless you're going to go grab some specific literature and follow that to a t, it's not worth the headache. ...Unless you're a research dietitian? Haha.
  3. Ahhh I remember when the Army stole my wisdom teeth. ...And I had room in my mouth for them! Bastards. Haha. I'm glad you switched it up and ran outside (again). =) That shit is the real test, right? You're running to be able to run, because it's something our species is proficient at, not just because "it's cardio." So, running in the elements is badass. Hell, working out in the elements is badass period. But especially for that specifically outdoor activity. =) Go ahead with it for your next challenge if you feel like having running in there again (since you said you still hate it earlier). See how much more interesting it is with passing foliage and whatnot. =) Onward and upward my friend!
  4. Haha. Well, I plan to be a more regular visitor to NF than I have been the last few weeks.
  5. ...Especially since you'd have to do all the editing. ;D I haaaaaaate video editing, but I love having samplers.
  6. Kishi - Ya know? My life is just so fluid. Haha. The days that are good, I feel like I am sincerely inexplicably fortunate in every measure. The days that are bad, I just can't seem to establish worthiness. It's a trip. Today, however, is a good day. =) Seven - Hahahaha! Page one: "Only date awesome people." Pages two through 267: "This page intentionally left blank." DinoBytes - I remember reflecting on a day of social confusion as an uncertain teenager with my mother once. She basically assured me that I'd never feel at home with most of my peers, but that that wasn't a problem. So, I do my best to embrace what comforts and enriches me, as whacked out as that might be. Fortunately, I've found enough folks who are willing to play along or feel comforted and enriched themselves that it's been a very good course of action. =D tl;dr - first dates with me are often unexpected, according to them. Haha. Jess - Well... because I had to cancel the powerlifting meetup? XD Don't worry, if you're after someone like me, I've got plenty of friends to prove that it's not statistically unreasonable to do so! =P Snow - It was pretty great. =D Well rounded time with a self-aware and honest girl is aaaalways a good time. =)
  7. I find letter grades not suitable when you're talking about something that's only goes down from 100%. You're bound to have some shifting and shimmying throughout the challenge, so you might as well _not_ count 60% as unacceptable. .02 Here's to the rest of it! Any and all progress needs to be counted as progress. =)
  8. Aaahahaha RenFaire 5k! That's brilliant! A friend of mine wants to dress up as the Power Puff Girls for our next Tough Mudder. Haha. I'm... almost down. We'll see when the time comes. =D
  9. Haha. Distracting sex is distracting. But clearly, you're handling business in spite of them invasively handling theirs. I totally want you to post a video sampler of this routine when you're nearer the end. The production value of your OP has such potential to be translated into moving pictures. =D
  10. God I love this thread. =D I've always had my wallet in my front pocket because it just occurred to me that it'd be easier to keep it safe there. And I've dated lots of women of various shades who are generally presumed to have fine buttocks, and they've always seen fit to compliment mine. As a student of race politics, it's even more amusing when things like that cross the color line, haha. And, again, laughing during sex = best ever. =) Means you're doing the right thing with the right person, no question. I want to post something else and join in on the lovin's, but I've got nothing new to share. So, instead, I'll post a picture of one of my closest friends and biggest inspirations: Dyamond. He's not only aesthetic and strong as fuck, but we both have really loud, really frequent laughter. So we went to the gym yesterday and were putting up serious numbers with high intensity, but between every set cracking up with some stupid inside joke and being the loudest people in the gym with our amusement. I love this guy. =)
  11. It's always super exciting wonderful to make up for real-life slack by exceeding your goals. Way to go. <3
  12. Gymnastics is the most useful hobby. Every single one of those athletes is aesthetic as fok. =D Plus, per my avatar, flipping is just such a pleasure. Haha.
  13. Rest is essential! And the foundation upon which excellence is built. ;D You've got this.
  14. More updates~ Woo. You're all the sweetest of hearts. =D Work has settled a little, in that the insanity of the politics and uncertainty of the future has been consistent enough for it to become a homeostatic expectation, hahaha. That being said, I've been doing alright at my behavioral modification training at work. Been spending time at work on work pretty well. I've not yet picked up my weights again, but... If I'm really honest, while that's the inspiration for this challenge, it's also the least important overall. Professional betterment and financial soundness is far more important to my whole life. That being said, I've kept up with, and modified, my goals for the book, and that's been going quite well. Also, I manage to increase my net worth by 11% in January. That's a huge deal. It's a little crushing that I'm still so far from having a positive net worth... but damnit 11% is a lot. Haha. I removed the XP rewards for this, though, because paying the bills is really how that happened. Good to track, not XP-worthy. Annnnd Tuesday night I had another good first date. I taught her how to deadlift. On a first date. Yeah. XD +5XP CHA. Yeah, the shiny has definitely worn off for lifting. It's unfortunate, but understandable. However, I'm definitely handling the leveling thing differently. Much more AD&D2.5 style; see my sig for details. ;D Thankya! Busy is busy in this real, adult life stuff. Shit's weird to me most days. Haha. <3! Alas, they've yet to be hit. But like I said, so far I'm ok with that. You don't learn by doing it right the first time, right? =) Thank you! Haha. Again, the whole 12 week thing I've put myself in doesn't yet lend itself to the "almost done" sensation, but it certainly also prevents me from feeling like all is lost because I missed a few days. Onward and upward. =)
  15. Ah sure. Rarely is optimization in life as sure as optimization in an algorithm, haha. But, you turned unexpected events around into general success anyway, it seems. =) Here's to that PT position panning out. I'm sure you'll keep us posted. =D
  16. Whew. Fantastic pictures. I had a feeling you'd love that class, but all the more fun that it was that good. =D I was watching a Cirque movie with a friend a few weeks back. Some guy was basically doing a silks routine with chains. Manliness^10, haha,
  17. This, my friend, is called optimization. Best thing ever to find an opportunity amidst an otherwise undesirable task.
  18. What an interesting week. I'm awfully sorry for keeping you all waiting for so long. In short, I'm trying to avoid being on the receiving end of a lawsuit while also dealing with talented folks jumping ship. So! Real life has won over the internet for the past several weeks. That doesn't mean I don't love you guys though. =D But yeah, I won't be able to host tomorrow, nevermind the shitty weather. Let's reschedule this shit. =)
  19. So! ...I'm back on NF after a silly busy travel week at work and a few missed challenge goals. ... ...But I'm also not sure if they'll be having me travel again by Saturday. >.< I'm going to hope the answer is no, but I needed to let you guys know! Derp. I shall keep you as posted as I am able. =)
  20. Whew. Ok, hi guys. Sorry I disappeared. It was definitely out of shame. However, here's the update! On Saturday, the 18th, I hosted some trickster friends of mine from Wisconsin who were in town for a gathering. I also went on a date with a girl I'd been trying to coordinate with for a while that went swimmingly. I stayed up with the guys who came to spend the night reviewing footage from the gathering (I didn't go because my back was hurting) and got to snuggle one of my closest friends. +5 XP CHA for spending enriching time with friends and a good first date. On Sunday, I missed my goal for completing the chapter in my GTK book. I got it done by Thursday, though (four days late) so -4 XP, resulting in +31 XP INT for finishing. Then came Monday, where I bought my plane ticket for the trip to Florida and basically had meetings half the day and didn't do any real coding. But, while it didn't require any effort, I didn't not get work done. So half XP for the Behavioral goals. I didn't lift Monday night (packed) so zero points there. Tuesday was a traveling day and I elected to take a later flight than I needed to once my original flight was canceled. I got some programming done from my book, but then I did stay on site till 9pm once I got there, so 2 XP for that. Wednesday and Thursday were on-site with the client, which means I got work done but didn't have to do anything special; half XP for behavioral. Friday was a bit more client work but I skipped out on some possible effort in order to catch my noon flight home (as opposed to rescheduling it for later); zero points. It was a successful trip, I think, but I didn't even try to hit a bodyweight hotel workout nor did I put 100% forward at every turn for the client. I might be being too harsh on myself, but I dunno. Saturday I didn't touch my book, so today I tried hard to push through it, but my brain was distractable. I did get through some more of it, though, even though I'll be missing my deadline for this chapter too when I head to bed in a few minutes. This is extra worrisome because the chapter that's due this Sunday is the longest one in the book. Eep. So... shit! I'm going to hit those weights tomorrow night though, god damnit. *resolve* QuirkyDM - Yessir! That is the workout I... was going to use. >.> I'll be back in Florida soon, though, so I'll have another chance to make good on my hotel occupancy. =) Leena - Thank you! I'm trying, eugh. Week three went partially up in flames, but I'll recover yet. DinoBytes - Glad you like the music. =) Also, thank you for your kindness on the weights. I'm not necessarily impressed with them, but I'm very pleased with my body as a machine most days, haha. Also, I'd argue your avatar is way more impressive than my weights! =D Whew. Ok. Bed! I'll be through to your guys' threads when I've got a minute. <3!
  21. I just think paleo is a "best practices" kind of thing. Do what you can when you can, but even then - only if you want to. It's whatever. I'm going to go get a pizza, just because I'm having this conversation. And because I'm hungry. Health!
  22. Yup. That was my other plan. Give myself half XP or something for hotel bodyweight workout shit.
  23. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xAS8DjZXKdk&t=2m02s That many. =D
