  1. So far so good! Mileage is in and up to date, and so far I feel awesome! *Knocks on wood and hopes the Toe/Foot continues to comply* Lifting was a flop this past week, I started the week sore from the deck work and by the end of week time was a struggle. Made it to work on time 3 out of 5 and got my house junk done over the weekend: Electrical - replaced 4 outlets that have been loose and busted since I bought my home 5 years ago in the Master Bedroom. Outdoors - Continued efforts to patch the bald spots in my yard! I will try and do the metrics at lunch, however right off the bat I am down to 185.2 this morning!
  2. Things are going well!! Thanks for asking!! I have 2 of my 3 runs done this week and am already ahead of my mileage by a bit!! My lifting has been a struggle, started the week coming off of a weekend deck-scrubbing the deck and edging the yard, however looking to do get a lift in tomorrow and one on Sunday/Monday morning. As far as the getting to work on time / weekend house work... I made 3 out of 5 this week and have some electrical for my master bedroom planned for tomorrow! Edited: Stupid Typo.
  3. Thanks for the warm welcomes! @All and @Terinatum: I actually do a majority of logging in a Google Spreadsheet that I keep track of number of workouts and what days they are on, number of miles ran on what day, and which days I was on time to work and not (which today I was not ). As far as the food logging I normally use the MapMyRun app on my phone and the website, it is also the location of all of my routes ran and mileage tracking I use to keep my spread sheet up to date.
  4. I will clean this post up as the days go on, but I am squeezing it in at lunch, and wanted to get in on the fun before this 6-week challenge got to far along! I was a Scout at the beginning of last year, trained all summer long and left the 6-week challenge Nerd-Crew due to time and changes in my training focus... Ran my first half-marathon in September and it was solid! SUCCESS!! Then I took a break, recovered and relaxed... Winter started up and disaster struck! I tore the ligaments in my big toe on my left foot while running in the ice and snow... Everything has been reset to zero, I was on crutches for 2 weeks over the Holidays and haven't ran since that fateful December evening. SO... Here I am... I've returned to my Nerd-fitness 6-Week roots to get back on track. Main Quest: Half-Marathon in September 2015 (I would be in heaven if I can do this again!) Goals: Run 32 miles, over 3 runs, adhering to a plan that will put me at half-marathon ready by September 23rd. -Grading based on final percentage of miles completed on the scheduled days. Dumb-bells & bench: 2 times a week. -Grading based on final percentage missed workouts. Drop to 177 lbs making smart eating choices and portion control. -Grading based on delta weight to final pounds. Life Quest: [WIS +1] Work & Home: Get in on time everyday to work M-F & Work on one project at home S/U. - Grading 6wks * 6 days = 36 days, percentage of days achieved. Motivation: Getting myself back from the injured battered runner and get back to where I was in September. Starting Stats: 38 - Male 5'10" ~187.8 lbs
  5. Woof!!!! Been a few busy weeks! The good news?? I've stayed on track! Was out of town on my yearly vacation and been destroyed with work, however have made sure to keep the workout time managed! Summary Update: Diet/Weight: Kept making decent decisions, a few mess ups while in Mexico on vacation. -Weigh-in: 178.2 Activity: Running: 51.56/60 miles completed (Progress: 85.94%) Dumb-bells & Bench: 10/12 sessions completed, nailed it. (Progress: 83.33%) Life: Finances: 28/36. Missed a few hear and there the last 3 weeks due to travel and work load. (Progress: 77.77%) As far as the beyond normal home stuff? - Installed shelves and organized garage. - Electrical work in basement in rec-room. - Emptied water out of my basement due to crap weather... Twice... Boo.
  6. Diet/Weight: Good stuff this week!! Made some solid decisions on meals and avoided snacks like they were full of evil. Easter was a little tough and I did over-eat a bit with little movement on the scale! -Weigh-in: 177.6 Activity: Running: 15.76/60 miles completed (Progress: 26.27%) Dumb-bells & Bench: 3/12 sessions completed, nailed it. (Progress: 25%) Life: Finances: 4/36. Missed Friday since I took the day off from the office which is where I catch this stuff up at lunch time and with the busy Easter weekend I got nothing done around the house, as a result I may work on an extra something this week and earn back a point. Whoops. (Progress: 16%)
  7. I am loving this challenge's write up!! May inspire me for a Juggernaut theme down the road!
  8. Thanks for all the feedback on getting this going! @Shukar & @18ck: Couldn't agree more! I was really amped after my first 6 weeks and bit off a little more than I could chew. @Primeval: Yes this is my first Half-Marathon! @Inspired Fool: I have plenty... as a matter of fact? A bunch of siding flew off my house last night.
  9. Really? I always thought the R was for Relevant? ... After a quick Google and adventure on Wikipedia, it turns out we are both correct which is kind of cool... You are more correct however since the R is for Relevant, mainly in SMARTER. Ooops. Up and posted in the new forum and ready to go! Already been out this week for some mileage this week too, and work seems to have calmed down for a few weeks so it looks on the up and up.
  10. So... My first attempt at my second challenge went poor. My goals were not realistic for the amount of stress life and work was about to throw at me, not to mention weather, an injury, and sinus infection taking me down... As a result, I am going to back my goals down a bit and even include a more attainable life goal. Background: Post-hibernation... Proxzerk… the Half-Gnoll... out to feast, run, and hunt... and do it healthy! Currently, I am an intro-level endurance runner running around 8-11 miles a week in 2-3 sessions (when I get around to it) and occasionally train on a Gaelic Hurling team a soccer team. I run to eat… I run to drink... the owner of my actions and have my actions as my arbitrator! Main Quest: Running a total of 520 miles in 2014, including a Half-Marathon in September 2014. Goals: [STA +3 | DEX +2] Run 60 miles, averaging 10 miles a week, in 2-3 runs. -Grading based on final percentage of miles completed. [STR +5] Dumb-bells & bench: 3 times a week. -Grading based on final percentage missed workouts. [CON +2 | CHA +2] Drop to 175.8 lbs making smart eating choices and portion control. -Grading based on delta weight to final pounds. Life Quest: [WIS +1] Finances & Home: M-F Track finances on a daily basis, S-U Complete one non-routine chore around the house. (Ex. Hang shelves, Organize Garage) -Grading 6wks * 6 days = 36 days, percentage of days achieved. Side-Challenge: <TBD> Motivation: Building the better Nerd: Dropping my love handles, seeing my abs for the first time, and get consistent to keep it up. Starting Stats: 36 - Male 5'10" ~177 lbs
  11. I am going to mark this a failure... The last two weeks were met with tons of work and personal items that got in the way. To be honest, I taught me something about setting goals, mine were way to strict and steep for the pieces of life that came my way. Made me realize that while SMART, they were not realistic... I got some stuff done and learned a lot about time management and fitness as a commitment. I have decided to not take a level or attributes, for this upcoming challenge and make better goals. See everyone in a few days. Cheers.
  12. End of week 3 - Updates: Diet/Weight: Diet was decent until I hit Las Vegas, I have kind of dumped the WWPP program and started tracking on calories and keeping balanced meals with MapMyRun (MMR). Seems that WW was good however I didn't feel I was getting the carbs. - Weigh-in: 178.2 Activity: Running: 22.12/73 miles completed, 50.88 left! (Progress: 30.30%) Dumb-bells & Bench: 3/12 sessions completed. (Progress:25%) Plank Challenge: 15/36 Kinda hitting a wall getting past 120 seconds, pushing though (Progress: 41.67%) Life: Sleep & Schedule: 14/42 - Meh... this one has been difficult but I am doing my best, granted the last 2 days of the week and the first 2 of this week, I was in Las Vegas. (Progress: 33.34%)
  13. Just wanted to pop in! All I have us my cell phone right now, however I woke up to 20 degree weather... at my home!!! I on the otherhand am in Las Vegas, so I killed it with a gorgeous desert run with the mountains as my backdrop! Cheers! PS: don't judge me but I am posted this in the kudos because I was so excited for the warm run! Will post full update when back in the office on Wednesday!

  15. Last week was bad news... Under the weather most of the week, which led to complete and full blown de-motivation. Other than keeping up with the plank challenge, I had zero mileage and zero weight workouts. Diet was decent, however had a decent splurge on Saturday night for my Anniversary. On the good news front, I am ready to kill it this week and feeling pretty refreshed.
