  1. Yea I did pretty bad during the holidays too. Yay to starting today!
  2. I love my sweets, especially baked goods and chocolate! Monday, while eating lunch with my co-worker, I was offered M&M's and after a little hesitation said no. Today, I was offered a selection of bakery items, mostly pound cakes and bread, and with no hesitation said no. Feels good to say no, especially since I'm saying no because I CHOOSE not to have any, not because I CAN'T!
  3. Thanks! I will definitely try to show up more often!
  4. Keep putting out your resumes, and don't settle! Everyone should have a job/business that they enjoy doing and aren't broke doing it. Once you get there, everything will fall into place Hang in there! It'll happen soon
  5. Glad you're able to start lifting again, sorry about the previous pain! Good luck meeting your goals! Looks like you're really motivated and will continue to succeed!
  6. It's great how much you're working on really getting to know your body. I think that's part of the key to success! Great job on all your progress! Keep it up
  7. That's really awesome that 30 burpees is your warm-up!! I should think about doing a few daily. I used to hate doing them when I was part of a boot camp! Keep up the good work! Hope the sleeping continues to get better!
  8. Sorry I haven't logged in since the challenge's started. Been busy studying for upcoming exams this week and was out of town last weekend, but the challenge's been on my mind and I've been trying to meet my goals. So far, I've met my veggie goal. Eaten at least one serving a day, usually broccoli, some carrots, asparagus, veggie soup (horrible idea! Apparently I mixed the wrong vegetables together! ), onions, and spinach. I only walked for 40 minutes once last week, so missed two days first week, but just did a 12 minute interval walking/running and jogged another 10 minutes afterwards and I'm feeling great! I think it's just what I needed to really get my head back in the game. I completed both days of kickboxing classes but didn't practice the techniques last week :/ But I will make it up this week by practicing Friday and Sunday after my walking/running sessions (classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays). Reading for one class is over the 50% mark (at about 75-80% done); still working on reading for the other 3 classes! Thanks again for the support! I'll do my best to log in more often!
  9. Sounds like great goals and great way to grade your progress!! The good news is that you've done it before, so you already know you can do it!! Good luck!
  10. You should definitely look into it; I had wanted to do it for a few years before I finally joined. Don't wait as long as I did! You'll definitely enjoy it, especially if you have a great instructor!
  11. Aww thank you everyone for all your support! It was great seeing all your messages this morning! Great way to start the day
  12. How silly is it that I'm having a bit of anxiety posting here.. hopefully I follow the directions correctly So... Main Quest: Tone body and fit comfortably in pants again (Lately it seems that as soon as I get off work and into my car, I unbutton my pants so I can "breathe"!) 3 smaller/specific goals: 1) By the end of these 6 weeks, I will eat at least one veggie per day. A: Eat a veggie a day for 5-6 weeks B: " " for 3-4 weeks C: " " for 2 weeks D: " " for 1 week F: " " for less than a week 2) Practice kickboxing techniques once a week [i recently started a kickboxing class, which I attend twice a week. My goal is to practice the techniques I learn every week so I could level up to the advance kickboxing class while getting my body in shape] A: 6 times (over 6 week period) B: 5 times C: 4 times D: 3 times F: 2-1 times 3) Walk/run for at least 20 minutes, 3 times a week. A: 15-18 times B: 12-14 times C: 9-11 times D: 6-8 times F: 0-5 times Life Quest: Complete at least 50% of reading assignments every week so I'm not cramming when finals come. (Grading: Pass or Fail) Motivation: ...so why am I here? Being healthy is one of the few things in life we can control... I want to master my mind and defeat my doubts. I want to feel good about how I look on the outside and the inside. Can't believe I'm actually posting this!
  13. I would be interested in coming to watch and grab something to eat. What time is the powerlifting meet?
  14. Hi. I currently live in Miami but I lived in Naples for a couple years and still go there from time to time (the drive's not too bad). I wouldn't mind a meet up. I'm trying to get motivated and focused again. I will be in town the weekend of Feb 28 and I'm pretty much available except on March 1st from 10am to 6pm. If that weekend doesn't work for you, let me know another good time to meet up if you're still interested.
