  1. i prefer a pair of ON-EAR headphones that fit good and have comfortable ear cushion. not in-ear or over-ear headphones. in-ear headphones if you listen to music cranked to the max causes ear fatigue much faster versus your other heaphone options and could in the long term be a cause of hearing problems. if i do wear in-ear buds im usually wearing a beanie over my ears so i can wear them loose and not have them crammed in my ears. and over ear headphones dont allow much air flow so your ears can get real sweaty. http://www.amazon.com/VM-Audio-Stereo-iPhone-Headphones/dp/B00BT1BBWK/ref=sr_1_167?s=aht&ie=UTF8&qid=1398704044&sr=1-167 not the same brand i use but very similar.
  2. just keep browsing the intro forums, make some posts, make some friends. i have only been here a few months and my health took a 180 for the better in the first month.
  3. at least the 2 states i frequent are in the green, survival skills are a must. lol awsome post.
  4. i like your goals for this challenge. especially the bread baking idea,, stick to it. i know you will succeed. if baking was my goal... i would only succeed in burning my house down. :/
  5. i have been doing 3 day cycles, with rest days between, 1st day> squats 4sets x 10 reps , one armed rows 3x10 +1set to failure. barbell curls 3x10+1set to failure, lumbar exercises with added weight 3x10. 2nd day>squats , abdominal= sit ups 3 sets to failure, leg lifts 3 sets to failure. 3rd day>squats, bench 3x10+1set unloaded till failure, pushups 1set to fail, lumbar exercises w/ added weight 3x10. at this point i haven't worked out a schedule yet, but i know there will be days i have to workout back to back since im putting a 4th day in my routine. so in debate of how i want to juggle it around, because i hear its not healthy to work the same muscles hard 2 days in a row. i am also open to suggestions.
  6. hey fellow rebels. the devil here. this is my first official challenge. MAIN GOAL- gain 5 lbs, currently at 135, and would like to see 140 real soon. QUESTS 1.bumping up my exercise routine from 3 to 4 days a week. to look good when i skinny dip 2.pushing my flexibility and focus on posture. to prevent future back issues and reduce the current pains. 3.maintain my paleo type eating habits. lots of food issues in the family this eating lifestyle works perfectly. LIFE QUEST- purchase a deep freeze chest, it will encourage me cook better more often, and buying meats and veggies in bulk will save me money. BONUS!!! my motivations?? you know the same ol' build confidence, feel better, look better naked, be strong as hell and become a total bad-ass! you know.. that whole spiel. .
  7. metabolism in high gear. i feel like pac-man

  8. 3 days a week!!!. i want your job lol. 3 days a week doesn't sound too grueling, your social life shouldnt suffer much, i just tell my friends and family to suck it up unless they are gonna pay my bills. as for health. if you got a pattern down then keep it, there are times when i have to work 6 to 7 days a week and most of them would be 12 hour shifts. had to keep a tight sleep schedule and plenty of food to keep my energy up when im working.
  9. We've worked out a few things where I'll ask her not to buy certain foods or buy less of them. I want goldfish, I'm trying not to eat them, I've just got to suck it up because asking her to obstain would be dangerous for my health. haha i know exactly what you nare talking about
  10. thanks these are all great ideas. i already eat hardboiled eggs like its my job.. i loooove hardboiled eggs. im ageing a jar of pickeled eggs as of right now. i already do alot of freezer bags of veggies, really handy when i go to work., i tend to eat alot of porkchops, they are cheap in my area and they cook really fast espescialy after i tenderize. i found that if i cook 10 porkchops they will be gone in less than 48 hours. great ideas i hope they keep coming.
  11. hello fellow rebels, i am in need of assistance, guidance, and creative ideas. Primarily for the concept of "meal planning" and "batch cooking". we have been eating paleo for over a month and love it but our main issue is the frequency of how often we end up cooking things or end up starving until we have time to cook things. I work the grave yard shift and she works swing shifts during the day, so a good portion of our free time together is usually me cooking but there are weeks where we hardly see each other let alone able to cook for each other. i have been trying my hand at cooking things in bulk, and still trying to get a handle on how much i actually eat in a week. TO THE POINT! i want to expand my skills with bulk meal planning and batch cooking, i want to know about recipes that can last for days in or out of the fridge, creative ideas and recipes, i also want to know about epic fails and things i shouldn't try. the tools of my trade are: the basic stove and oven, grill and foreman grill. crock pots and everything to cook anything with them. a fridge with limited space because of an additional roommate that devours everything in sight and im looking to buy an additional deep freeze.
  12. an accountability buddy actually, someone to talk shop with and help each other stay on track and get psyched for challenges. mainly over messages and facebook. you dont have to have common goals or even have anything in common besides staying healthy, i am a hard gainer, tall and skinny, 135lbs. i have been eating paleo for the past month. trying to bulk up, no solid goals or weights to achieve, just forming good habits and keeping them send me a message if you want to make a deal .
  13. we can be accountable for each others actions. in a fitness sense. pretty new to this community so i could use someone to chat and talk shop with, not much for chatting on Fb much anymore, but i do respond to messages. message me if you need an accountabillibuddy
  14. im good for a few laughs, and could also use an accountabillibuddy. my gf and i are keeping each other on track but i could use someone to talk shop with and help get each other psyched for a challenge. currently undecided with any big fitness goals, but im ready for anything.
