  1. This is kind of silly but... MY NERDFITNESS SHIRT ARRIVED TODAY. WITH TWO NF STICKERS... That is all.
  2. Hi everyone! I did 2 challenges with the Adventurers, but I finally feel ready to join my true home: The Assasins. Have any of you seen Divergent? It's not the best movie, but it hit a personal nerve. The main character has to choose a faction, which will dictate her home, lifestyle, career, etc for the rest of her life. She leaves the peaceful Quaker-like group for Dauntless- the daredevil group of warriors. She's completely wrong for the group, but works her butt off to compete and rise through the ranks. That's how I feel. The Assasins are not who I am, by any stretch of the imagination. But they represent who I want to become.
  3. I admire your bravery! (SO MUCH SO THAT I POSTED TWICE)
  4. I admire your bravery! Go out there and DO IT!
  5. I just started a new skincare routine, when I got frustrated with being 27 with crazy acne. I never had any significant issues with acne in the past - even as a teen, I was more of a random pimple girl than an acne girl. I splurged and got the sensitive moisture cream from Estee Lauder ($58!), but I got it when there was a swanky free gift from Macy's, too. So I really got that plus 2 lipsticks, a mascara, and a Lilly Pulitzer tote. Much better. I switched all of my products to stuff that is sensitive friendly, and ONE WEEK IN I have no zits. I have some healing spots from the past, but that's it. 1. Yes to Carrots Nourishing Face Wash 2. Burt's Bees Herbal Blemish Stick (applied to any blemishes) 3. Simply Natural Gentle Toner (swiped gently. It removes the excess Burt's Bees, but it's potent stuff) 4. Estee Lauder Verite St Ives Apricot Scrub (3-4x per week)
  6. I love the way you structure your challenges! Phrasing the challenge as "I will" and "you will see me" is a whole different mentality than "I hope" or "I plan"!
  7. Lola stopped, glancing around at her new surroundings. No, this was not like the place she'd left. The Adventurers were a strong community, sure, but they were no match for the agile group she saw before her. "Did I make the right choice?" Lola murmured under her breath. "Odd man out isn't the half of it." At 6'3", Lola was statuesque, sure, and her mind was quick and strong. Her hair was a shock of red, clashing against the sea-colored eyes that narrowed in careful thought. But her curves were enveloped in softness, cushioning the appearance of an otherwise rather hard woman. At 27, Lola was wry and not easily impressed, having seen the cruelty and instability of a world crawling with the undead. But it was the living that truly frightened her. It was men... The ones she didn't call "friend". Even in the Time Before, men hadn't exactly flocked to Lola's intimidating height and wit. So as the Amazon scanned the crew before her, she had little thought given to the idea of romance. But, what if she tried? Even just a touch? 8. I totally can relate to this thread. In the end, knowledge is not what will create results, but implementation. I "know" a lot about food science and nutrition. I just don't really follow the rules, and that's why I'm still obese! I've had various successes, but never by doing any rigid plan. Come up with a "plan" that works for your lifestyle and tastes.
  9. If it didn't hurt, didn't leave a scar, took no healing time, and was guaranteed to look 100% natural, I would. But since none of those are true, nope!
  10. This IS normal! Hollywood has totally messed with our perception of what boobs are supposed to look like. Natural D's are never going to be perky, because GRAVITY! My boobs are relatively perky, and I still hate them. I think 90% of us do.

The capacity to love, and open one's heart to another, is the greatest strength . Finding love, or even like, is impossible if I don't even open my eyes to the possibility of it. It's time to stop putting off my life.
  12. I had this problem with teaching. I didn't hate teaching, but I worked at a miserable school. I had just dropped 60k on graduate school, and felt totally hopeless. Then I found a very different career that utilized very similar skills. I'm still new at this job, but it seems like a great fit!
  13. I'm not sure! I'm debating joining up with the assassins to switch things up...
  14. At 6'3", my small C's / big B's are very small on my frame. I have an opera singers lungs and ribcage (literally, I sing), and so my boobies are pretty small. What bothers me more is that they are wideset, so cleavage is really hard to achieve. On the otherhand, my mom has DDD's, and before she lost the weight she had E's.

Wrap Up: Challenge #3 Ultimate Quest: Survive the Zombie Apocalypse Necessary skills: - STR: Fend off zombies with melee or hand-to-hand - STA: Outrun hordes for long distances - DEX: Be agile and quick enough to cover rugged, varied terrain effortlessly (parkour style) - CON: Have the supplies and wherewithall to bunker down and equip myself properly - WIS: Be wicked smaht. Originally, I had a time goal for this. But that sort of defeated the purpose of this challenge - my goal was to try something that I never thought I got do, and finish it. Having it "not count" because I missed an arbitrary time? Lame. SIDE QUESTS: PREPPING FOR THE 5K 1: Walk an average 30000 steps per week (+4 STA) Grade: B - I averaged 27k per week +2 STA 2. 17. I've been doing pretty well! I keep forgetting to post in here, though I'm active on other threads all over the site. Food has been a LITTLE challenging this last week. Yesterday we ordered in food at work (free fried food = bad Lola), and then I met my mom for dinner at a Mexican restaurant. I feel like I'm rolling around today, like a more rotund Sonic the Hedgehog.
  18. I sing in a church choir, and my mom sits in the pews. She's 62, and the slimmest she's been since college. Yesterday she wore a green patterned dress that was slightly above the knee with a green cardigan. She looked amazing, and very church appropriate. My mom is 5'10", and used to top 280 pounds. She's now 180, thanks to years of hard work and gastric sleeve surgery. She's kept the weight off for nearly five years. One of the biddies in the choir goes up to me after the service and says, out of nowhere, "You're mom is a hot ticket!". I said, "Yeah, she looks great, right?" The woman then proceeds to talk about rising hemlines, and how "in Europe, even mature women aren't afraid to where very short skits like that." I just blinked a couple of times, and said "Well, she's got great legs, and has worked very hard to be where she is..." OY VEY.
  19. I still love my butt. I have a great, perky butt for a big girl.
