  1. Weighed myself yesterday, and I'm down 5 lbs! Halfway there! Not sure if I'll make it by the end of the challenge, but I'm happy with the fact that I'm making progress.

  3. I'm alive! I hit the gym yesterday and worked my butt off. (Link for pic of me drenched in sweat, because I can't seem to get imgur to let me generate a thumbnail...) http://i.imgur.com/A7TlLaD.jpg I'll post more specifics later. So far this week is going really well.
  4. Tomorrow is when I get back on this bandwagon! For reals! My schedule has finally cleared up. In the past 7 days I have played in a charity Warmachine tournament, driven 2 1/2 hours to get my dad to help me change the brakes on my car, driven 2 1/2 hours back home, played Warmachine on a Twitch TV stream, edited a podcast, and played D&D with my friends. Not that I'm making excuses, but I've been getting home around midnight on most, if not all of these nights. I've been eating pretty healthy in the meantime, but I just weighed myself and I've stalled out. Which just makes me want to work harder! I would get back on it today, but I have a date tonight, sooooooo...
  5. Good! The last 4 days have been super hectic, so sadly I fell off the wagon, but it's given me a little time to heal up and I feel a lot stronger right now than I did before. I'm going to get back into the swing of things today so that I don't lose too much ground.

  8. I finally painted a thing! Pictures aren't great, but here's my Exemplar Errant Officer for my Protectorate of Menoth army, from the game Warmachine.
  9. Did a 1.45 mile run today, alternating walking/running using the C25K app on my phone. Holy shit that was rough, but I survived it.
  10. Keep kicking ass and being an inspiration, man! Your workouts sounded like a blast, so I'll admit they got me motivated to get into the gym at my office yesterday. Best workout I've done in awhile, it felt amazing.
  11. Quick update: hit the gym last night for the first time in awhile (I've been doing all of my working out at home) and I really kicked ass! 10 minute warmup on the elliptical, then I did squats, pushups and bicep curls before hopping back on the elliptical for 30 mins of hard cardio. I seriously felt awesome when I was done. Food has been great! In the 2 1/2 weeks of this challenge, I have forgotten to bring food to work once! So far I'm perfect this week. Planning to keep that going as long as possible. I still don't have any models to show you guys. I am so sorry! However, tomorrow night my friend and I are having a painting night! So, I will 100% have something to show for that! Keep kicking ass everyone. And thank you all for the encouragement, it really means a lot.

  13. I know I've been silent all weekend! Sorry! It was super busy and I'm not gonna lie, I was very bad with my eating and my working out, but it was a great weekend. I had a date on Saturday that went amazingly well, hung out with friends on Saturday evening, and then spent Sunday playing tabletop games with another set of friends. I definitely drank way too much beer and didn't eat great either (I'll need to figure out a plan for food when doing RPG sessions with my friends. We polished off a bag of Doritos super easy, and there was really nothing else to eat there.) My one redemption is that I weighed myself today and I haven't gained any weight! I haven't lost any either, but after a shitty weekend of bad food and no exercise, I'm impressed that I just stayed at the same level and didn't lose much ground. I'm going to refocus myself this week and see how much I can get done! (And yes, there's already a second date in the works, we're going to see How To Train Your Dragon 2!)

  15. Yesterday went well. Didn't bring food to work, but I did manage to eat healthy with what I brought. I am still failing at painting, but if that's the only thing I fail in this challenge, I'll be okay with that. And I still have time! I can definitely catch up. The Good: Jogged/walked again. Knee was feeling rough so I didn't get as much solid running done as I did on Tuesday. But I was still impressed. I think I might start doing the C25K program. A friend invited me to do a color run with her in September, which would be pretty much a perfect amount of time to work up to a 5k. The Bad: Did not paint. Cooked dinner, but probably could have kept it a smidge healthier. I made shrimp curry that was pretty healthy, but I paired it with a not-amazingly-healthy box of couscous. The Ugly: Got into the Heroes of the Storm Alpha. Oh dear. I'm gonna need to be super careful with my free time now. So far for the week, I've walked/jogged 3 times and done the bodyweight workout once. Need to get one of those in tonight, and then maybe a walk tomorrow morning and another bodyweight workout tomorrow evening. I SWEAR I WILL PAINT SOMETHING BEFORE THIS CHALLENGE IS OVER!!!
  16. I'm at 257 lbs! This whole thing is actually working! I'm so excited! I have probably lost more than 3 lbs because when I got serious about this whole thing a few weeks ago I was closer to 265, but my first goal is 250. If I can get to that, everything is possible!

  18. No running yesterday, because it was supposed to thunderstorm (but never did), but I did the bodyweight workout and I managed way more pushups then I have been able to do in a loooooooong time. I was amazed that I kept finding the energy for them! Bad news is that I did not bring my lunch to work today, because I didn't pack it last night and I woke up a little late this morning. This is the first time I will have to buy lunch since starting the challenge. Hopefully I can keep it to just this one day. And I didn't paint. I am bad and I feel bad. I was busy helping record a podcast that I produce for the miniatures game I play, so no painting got done. But I did pay some bills, so I was at least productive. Today's plans and goals: See how much running I can do, make sure I eat a healthy lunch (I'll do my best to stick to the salad bar at work) and do some grocery shopping so I have no excuses for not bringing lunch. Also, PAINT!
  19. Definitely! Keep up the good work! My clothes are already fitting loose, so I'm doing something right! Thanks for the encouragement! I'm doing great on the food, not as good on the bodyweight exercise. I need to start doing more for that. My biggest issue is I can't do jumping jacks in my house. It is extremely old, and I have tennants that live above me. I will literally knock things off of their walls if I do jumping jacks inside, so I either need to do the workout outside on the grass, or I need to find some kind of replacement for that exercise that doesn't jostle my house around. Or just skip that and do the other stuff. Tonight I'm going to paint for my life quest! I swear! This thread will have a picture tomorrow of a painted model. By the way, Ranger/Assassin is the combo I've been looking at for what I think I eventually want to work towards. I may talk to you later once I'm 100% on the path to greatness. Thanks! My knees were killing me last week, and I was worried it was going to take awhile to get my legs back, but it seems to be pretty quick! Just needed a couple rest days.
  20. Went for my run! I ran for a much larger portion today than usual! Not a full continuous mile of running, but I definitely did half a mile of running! Woo!
  21. Packed food again today, so far so good, 2 days straight! We're supposed to be getting thunderstorms this evening, hopefully they hold off so I can go for a jog, but if not, I'll see if I can do as much of the bodyweight workout as I can.
  22. Like petefeet said, maybe look around for a farmer's market to get some of your produce at? They're becoming more common. I recently discovered there's one right near where I live, so I'm definitely going to check it out as soon as I can.
  23. IF YA SMEEEEEEEEELLL... WHAT THE DARK_RAIDER... IS COOKIN`!!! (Sorry, I had to do that.) Nice job man! You could have made excuses when you showed up with the wrong shoes, but you made the best of the situation and kicked some serious ass.
