  1. Ugggg... Problems in my personal life and an excessive workload crippled my progress. No workouts but lots of walking and I gained a pound. I am trying to get back on track this week though.
  2. Weight: lost 3 lbs Do 25 consecutive pushups: Steady at 16 Run an 8 minute mile: Off the table 60 second consecutive front plank: 50 seconds Quit smoking: Didn't smoke
  3. Thanks Nuala. I feel better about things today. I will see where this week will take me!
  4. Lets call this the week of FAIL. I didn't loose/gain any weight. Super stressful stuff going on in my life right now, so that could have something to do with it. I didn't eat any fast food or junk food. I didn't smoke. I got very little cardio due to my back still bothering me a lot. I feel like I am on the verge of moving backwards so I need to step it up this week. I am going to switch to the Paleo diet for a bit and see how I feel. Lose a total of 20 LBS: -0 Do 25 consecutive pushups: Steady at 15 Run an 8 minute mile: Off the table 60 second consecutive front plank: 40 seconds Quit smoking: Didn't smoke.
  5. Nuala, This is my new most favorite K9 of the universe... I may have a new (first) power animal. Awesome!!!
  6. Thanks everyone! The support and encouragement at NF is awesome. You guys rock!
  7. Thanks. I think I am using pretty good form. I had a personal trainer last year that forced me to use good form, and I think it stuck. My back pain is the result of the following: Spinal Stenosis Spinal Arthritis Fractured Vertebrae Bulging Disks Sciatica (both sides) Some of it is congenital and some of it is from injury. The biggest factor for how much pain I am in is weight; the less I weigh, the less I hurt. Which is a catch 22 since when I am in pain I don't want to exercise and I want to eat. Running is off limits for another 10 LBS I think, but the BBWW, walking (8,000 + steps per day tracked via FitBit), and paying attention to what I am eating will get me there soon. I have stopped taking pain meds because of addiction issues and my spine specialist has determined after 4 years that I can't take any more nerve block or cortisone injections. Physical therapy just makes it worse and so alas surgery is the only medical option at this point, so they say. I am only 34 and if they replace one of my vertebrae with metal now, I will be totally disabled by 50. Sorry if this way TMI... My back issues are kind of complicated
  8. One of my goals for my first challenge is to do 25 consecutive push-ups. I hit 15 tonight, so WOOT!! Thats all...
  9. That is great! Good job on your progress. I have the same goal for an 8 minute mile and can't wait to be almost 30 seconds out from that.
  10. Good luck on your challenge so you can have a great summer of climbing!
  11. I thought I would be at 15 push-ups by the end of the week, but HOLY SHIT, I did three sets of 15 tonight! It is amazing how we can make progress when we put our mind to it. Also, Thanks Twilight.
