  2. I've decided on the habits I want to engage this challenge: Get 1700 steps per day at least (I'm upping my average slowly and I'll check it every month) Meal prep (already a goal) Eating a veggie a day (already a goal) Replace two things with lower fat items on a semi-permanant basis
  3. I think I'm going to rework my challenge?? Again?? Hell, idk. I'm just trying to figure out the best way for me to take care of myself. It's all such a mess. Right here right now I'm going to make a list of the things that give me Trouble™ Emotional Eating/Eating While Reading Not Enough Fruits and Veggies A Lot of Fat in my diet Sweet things Large Quantities at meals Boredom eating Eat Like An Idiot if I Don't Meal prep Not Enough Movement/Time for Movement So I'm not being rude to myself, I'm going to make a list of things I do well. Drink plenty of water Don't skip breakfast Take vitamins Eat out significantly more rarely I'd also like to note that I've been improving somewhat on the trouble items recently too, just not as much as I need to. So now I'm going to come up with a list of habits that will help improve my overall health if I implement them over time and those are below: Find another way to engage my mouth while reading (decaf coffee? tea? water flavoring?) Try to build the habit of stopping and journaling when I'm feeling things Add a serving of fruits and/or veggies with every meal Decrease amount of dairy consumed Find lower fat alternatives for things I eat regularly that doesn't decrease the quality of the flavor Don't consume red meat more than 2x/month Limit # of sweets (no more than 1 per day, or a budget of 3/week, etc) Pay attention to how I feel when I eat by pausing halfway through and having some water Create a "Roll for Fun" activity so that I have to roll a d20 to pick what to do when I'm bored Meal Prep (I'm decent at this most of the time in fairness) Increase my average # of steps per day (as of today, my 31 day average is 1606) Start Getting up early to dance Obviously I wouldn't implement these habits all at once, but I may retool my challenge for this go-round and focus on these behaviors. However, that's likely a tomorrow problem.
  4. Rest and fanfic helped a bit, and I had a fun weekend which did make a big difference ❤️
  5. Yeah that sounds about right. I was talking to my best friend about it yesterday and basically it boiled down to "too many things, too little rest." So I took today mostly off from work and right now I'm just chilling on my computer while my Baby Jedi naps. I usually can't scream thanks to the whole "constantly around a child under 1" business but the combination of a ton of fanfic and a rest day should do the trick to reset me a little
  6. I am having a Hard Time. I don't really know exactly what's going on but my mental health is kinda shot?? I don't feel like I'm doing anything but my motivation is down in the toilet somewhere and I'm just trying to function to the best of my ability despite my whole brain and body being F u C k E d. It's the worst. My food habits are what's the worst right now. What's sad is that I'm getting in my veggies, and I'm getting in my workouts mostly too. I just feel very frustrated by my inability to function. I have a TON of stuff due tomorrow too.... I'm going to s c r e a m I do believe

  9. Finished both of my books today!! I gave up on the meditation one, it was just a struggle and I was tired of fighting through this book I wasn't interested in. But the parenting one I actually finished. I do have a lot of my Quantic done so that'll be exciting to finish - hopefully this week. I've gotten a ton of prewriting done as well. I do think I'll be ready for NaNoWriMo this year and I'm excited.
  10. R I G H T??? I am so confused about it. And I miss proper fall weather - that's the biggest downside to having settled here. I'm just wanting it to cool down some - it's been hot as hades recently. I wish xD I've been using KT Tape to give it some support but I'm considering going to urgent care or something ~ Yesterday was... rough. I was kinda vague/disasociative all day and that threw off my groove. But I took a long shower and got to bed at a reasonable hour so I'm just going to do my best today to fight the dreaded Tuesday

  12. Happy Monday, all! I feel like I'm on my mess today. I got up at my initial alarm, got started with work mostly on time, and I'm enjoying some cozy coffee. I'll also add that this is NOT Virginia weather, it's a bit early for me to be wrapping up in a blanket while I work, but... it be that way. I'll just enjoy the cozy before it gets back up to 80F by the end of the week (???) Fingers crossed my knee doesn't decide to be a lil shit and I'm able to exercise this evening.

  17. Hahahaha bless So it's a fantasy novel - the plan started out as an MHA alternate universe fanfic actually, but I ended up completely changing it enough that it's nothing like that now. Basically, it's about a Faerie realm divided into two courts: Seelie & Unseelie. Due to the actions of a particular Unseelie King who wants to rule all things, the Seelie Fae haven't had a queen in milennia. During his Coming of Age ceremony, half-fae Will is charged by D'vita, the Magic herself, to find the final Seelie Queen-in-Waiting before the Unseelie King can destroy her.
