  1. Bang. Challenge one. I am setting the intention that this will be another of my lifes turning points. The moment I will look back on and recognise as being a big step forward in building a healthy eating habit and getting the the body that I want and deserve. I will become more agile, fit and strong. I will eat less and healthier. I will cut out the negative head chat and will do the right thing and be kind to myself. Life is a thousand nows and I'm hungry to make the most of them. Goals: Lose 10kg - these seems unrealistic but I am confident that the with the amount of water weight I am carrying from binge eating it is entirely healthy and achievable. Intermittent fasting with a fasted workout 5 days a week. I am going to push for 6 but I think that 5 is realistic, especially for the first few weeks. I will be doing a fasted workout at 12 each working day and will probably hit the gym on the weekend for fun as well. I'll also do some light fasted cardio in the morning, hopefully busting morning sprints by the end of the 6 weeks. Run 6km in 30 minutes - the biggest thing holding me back with this is the fact I am topping out he scales at 128kg and that at the moment I am ridiculously undisciplined. I'll be starting to complete this challenge over the last two weeks of the six. I'm confident that I'll have something to smile about when i complete this. GET SOME!
  2. Thanks for the links Prairie, and the words of support from you all. I'm pretty keen to start my first 6 week challenge, I'm all ready to do some grinding and get some sweet stats!
  3. From a fellow newbie - good luck brother. Keep at it, get amongst it and in a few years you'll be kicking ass and tacking names. In regards to not knowing your way around a gym if you don't find someone local on here to help you out there is heaps of tutorials online, you;d be surprised just how many people in gyms will be happy to give you some pointers on your technique. If you see someone who knows what they are doing, and looks friendly, ask em to spot you and they will give you some good pointers. The worst thing is to hit the gym intimidated of the people and the equipment, and to never go back.
  4. Hey Vasilis777, how'd you get those there fancy progress bars in your sig?
  5. Can someone tell me what is with the attribute stats and "races" that people seem to have under their posts?
  6. Salutations interwebs, For a long time I've been a a buffet wrecking ball. Don't get me wrong I am a pretty active guy, or at least try to be. I go through spurts of being gym active, always free weights, decent technique and I sure do enjoy it. I play Rugby, I've completed oxfam trailwalker and tough mudder etcetera but gosh darn have I got bad eating habits. I'm 185cm (6'1") and am currently topping in the scales at 128kg (282lbs). I've always been a bigger fella but over the last few years I have really stacked on the weight and am much bigger then I would like to be. I miss being quick on my feet, it is really starting to have a negative impact on my on field performance in sports, and my weight is holding me back from being able to complete my dream of getting my AFF skydiving certification (100kg "max"). I eat quite healthily, I don't drink any liquid calories and never really have, but I just eat a lot. All the time. For instance I will often make a big dinner, in the thoughts of taking it the next day for lunch and maybe even having some for tomorrows nights dinner, and I will often eat it all in one night. I know it's a days worth of calories but if anything the frustration only leads me to do it more. An evil cycle. A guy from my Rugby team (could even be on this here forum) was telling me the other day about intermittent fasting. A quick google search led me to these here pages and I thought this could be the answer. Still eat a big meal or two, but just skip the other. I have in the past always found that I function best when skipping breakfast, but would always worry about missing the "most important" meal of the day. My goals are to drop weight, retain strength (or get stronger) and to build positive eating habits that will allow me to look and feel good, and operate at my peak. I am looking forward to being a reasonably active member of the forums, and sharing my trials and tribulations with you all.
